how to tie twisted double dropper loops in heavy mono for deep sea fishing, hapuka or groper or bass, bluenose and whatever else is lurking in the depths #offshore #fishing #knots #dropperloop #bass #groper #hapuka
Can't thank you enough for this!!! I've been struggling tying high low rigs with a twisted dropper in 50 lb + mono. Sounds dumb, but this was a game changer for me
Love the rig. Simple and effective. Make sure the circle hooks go on with the barb end bent in toward to dropped loop for a better hookup. In though the front of the eye, not through the back of the eye.
Nice! I usually tie this 'stand-out dropper' (it's what I've been calling it) a bit differently in that I twist the loop against itself like tieing a bimini twist, then a standard dropper-base but I'm gonna give this way a go. Thanks for posting.
The "fishermen's knot" is used in arboriculture quite a bit. Bloody good knot for making prusik loops and a load of other things. Strip o leather or Parra cord and a double fishermen's knot and you have secure necklace for your ferro rod or neck knife
Good day Josh, Stopped by to wish you and the family a very merry Christmas and great, awesome new year of 2019, bless you all and best regards from all of us, Tony.
Aww cheers mate! Really appreciate it. Hope to meet you in person one day, please let me know if your passing through the west coast, come stay at our home
ive always made it without the twist, just dropper loop to make pattenoster rigs but i can see that twist has a lot of advantages and can do away with metal or plastic booms in most cases,, great knot n rig mate, do you ever use a flemish eye with the crimps and swivels? i always worry crimp may slip.
Awesome video bro I look forward to working on my drop loop line soon once I get the best electric reel top of the line in a few days can't wait. I do have a question if you get this message on 80 lb braid line if you're targeting hapuka what is the maximum weight that it can handle for example could it handle a 80 kg hapuka to a 100 kg max ?
@@joshjameskiwibushman I always tie mine with 30lb mono and tape over the line. Have you done a video of the cable ties, I’d like to see how that works. Our bottom is reefy, so we lose a few weights, but much better than the rig ;)
@@mitchellunkovich4060 crimp it on if big game fishing with an offshore fishing knot onto a bimini twist. Fishermans knot if heavy leader or Uni knot or palomar knot for smaller diameter leader, cheers
