About 2 years ago I saw this video, and ironically, given that it's a bunch of "oh fuck that's gotta hurt" moments, it inspired me to get back into longboarding after a rather messy chunk of life. I just found out today that Josh passed away, and I'm deeply saddened. Thank you, Josh, for giving me back a piece of my life. I hope wherever you are, you have good roads and great hills to bomb.

Josh’s dedication to hurting himself was impressive. What a fantastic guy. Gone but always remembered.

Every time I saw his shirt fly up in the back, all I could think of is “Don’t fall on your back dude! That’ll hurt like hell.😭” Goodness knowing how to fall is so incredibly important. Tip for everyone: DON’T TENSE UP!!! Be relaxed, as hard as that can seem. If you’re tense, you can break a bone if you fall hard or just right. Relax your body and just roll/slide. Also ignore the board. Your functionality is more important. A skateboard can be replaced. A healthy and functioning body isn’t. Also I’m a skateboarder so I fall I ton. A little unrelated but if I didn’t have the gloves, pads and helmet I have, I’d probably have died a while ago. No way I’d be alive without my helmet with how many times I’ve been thrown from trying to turn to turn too fast. 😂
