As a Bama fan, I never hated Georgia. Never felt they were a rival like Auburn or Tennessee. Hated to see Kirby leave but will never hate him, rather I'll always love him for what he did at Alabama.

I'm just thankful I got to watch so many Kirby vs Saban game, and I'm gonna miss it. Also, anyone assuming Bama is going to be a shell of itself are in for a rude awakening. I hate them as much as almost anyone, but I'm not blind to how good of a coach KB is.

I actually think the rivalry can intensify even more. Imagine being a Georgia fan convincing themselves for all these years that the only reason they weren’t better than bama was because of Saban and for deboer to come in and bama still doesn’t miss a beat. That would really piss them off.

As a Bama fan living in Georgia, it's been a great rivalry. I've had many great discussions and trash talks with my Georgia friends. Saban retiring will always be bittersweet for me. It's going to be difficult not to watch him come out of the tunnel or be on the sidelines. It was a thing of beauty. I understand it's a new era with new adjustments, but it will forever be Roll Tide. 🐘 🐘 🐘 🐘 🐘 🐘

The Alabama Georgia matchups have certainly been exciting and entertaining for years. Coach Saban built Bama up and had it rolling along with great success. Coach Smart is doing the same type of thing in Athens and it doesn’t appear to be something that will let up in short order. Can Coach DeBoer have the same level of success ? The odds would say that there’s not much likelihood that CKD can maintain the same level of dominance as CNS, but he’s known nothing but success so far in his career, he’s inherited a wealth of talent and is bringing in more, he seems ultra focused on the task and has the will to succeed. I’m not saying he’s the same or better than Coach Saban. I’m just saying it should be interesting to watch him attack the team goals. Because Georgia is doing well, playing them gives us the opportunity to see clearly where we stand and where to improve. I’m always happy for a smashup with the Bulldogs. Iron sharpens iron ! RTR

UGA '05 - Florida always seemed like a bigger rival in my tenure. I like the "Cold War" analogy. Nothing but respect for Saban. Much like the hated Steve Spurrier, the program building speaks for itself.

Never thought of Georgia as a Rival, I was irked that we didn't play during 2022 because we would have shown what you saw the next time we got to play, an L for the dogs. Looking forward Bama ending the tired old 30 year old Saban system that's feeling a bit dated. Saban knows what his system has issues with, so We went out and got a QB whispererrrrr Kirby and Nick hated Elite QBs...Remember Ohio State,and Bama put 40 on that Elite Defense... Georgia played the easiest Schedule for a decade or more, while getting full SEC credit for the essentially an ACC West level experience, just gotta really worry about 2 games and one of those Games is the SEC Championship... boring Home Slate of games, but Geez its like getting a Bye in NCAA tournament,,, and Georgia TALKING HEADS are amazed at how hard the new schedule is.... Honestly, as a Georgia fan. I will always support Lanning. I'll never be "Lanning is 1-7 vs Smart." I want Lanning to do well and succeed where he is. I respect what Lanning did for GA. I'll never be as bitter as Bama boys are. Even if UGA wins as many nattys as Bama since 2020.

some of the previous BS was leftover from the Harrick scandal. Getting pretty damm close in 2002 football too probably didn't help matters, thinking we're already there, don't need to do anything else but have a few breaks go our way. Yet Richt was indeed always hamstrung by the lack of an indoor practice facility. Which was the first thing Kirby told em when he got there. Get serious or admit you're not.
