It’s great to see that the Aussie Holden Monaro is alive and well in USA , Just rebadged as a GTO Pontiac ⁉️We made them here in OZ in Left hand drive and shipped them over , Unfortunately our Government didn’t back our home Grown Industry, And now sadly it has closed down , what a shame 🙀😩😩👎🏼
The vin on the white RHD car says HSPO meaning that body was built as a Holden Spare Parts Operations replacement body shell. White was not an available colour option for a production Monaro, but for some reason they built spare parts shells in white!. I worked at the GM Holden plant when these cars were in production and helped to build GTOs,Monaros and all other Commodore variants. I can clearly remember seeing 2 white Middle East spec HSPO Lumina coupe (LHD) spare parts shells sitting beside the final assembly building for several weeks prior to being shipped overseas!
@@JoshsCarCorner I am very proud to have helped build these cars..we built cars across 3 shifts back then, and all models went down the same assembly line.I worked on afternoon shift in the VAP 2 ( Final Assembly) plant. From early 2003 until 3rd quarter 2005 I was an assembly line worker mainly fitting seats and doors, and also did other jobs including door component assembly, console top assembly and body side moldings. I also did overtime on weekends driving GTOs across the plant to the GTO rework centre. From 3rd quarter 2005 I worked in the Product Quality Assurance Department and did quality checks on all models.I got to walk the last GTO down the line to perform quality checks on it.The last GTO was destined to go to a GM museum,it was a 6 Litre 6 speed manual car in "Shanghai Red" metallic.( I think Pontiac called the colour by a different name). There was quite a fuss caused by someone stealing the last set of front fender badges that were allocated for this car, which delayed it's plant release! It's awesome that you love your GTO,and based on the fact that the plant ran 3 shifts there's a one in 3 chance that I may have helped build your car! If you haven't seen it there's a video GMHOLDEN got produced called "From steel to road" ..it's an overview of Holden's vehicle assembly operations, it's a pretty cool video ☺️
Just FYI - if you cant find a needed part, if it isnt a GTO specific part like body panel or RHD part - the GTO shares most of the parts with the Holden Commodores family of cars sold in Aus.
Josh once again GREAT video!! In Australia the GTO was a Monaro, the modern Monaro. 2001/2005. When they first appeared I thought they were fucking awesome!!!! Ho hum they just didn't have charm of old, they were rattly under done cars in Australia. You see we had a Monaro from 1968 / 1977. A Holden two door coupe, straight six 186/202ci or V8 308/350ci and they have become our iconic Australian muscle car. Commanding huge prices today in excess of $100K for a genuine numbered or restored vehicle. Dad drove a Red HQ 308 4spd manual with white vinyl interior seats had hounds tooth inlays. Aunger jelly bean 5 slot wheels with fat good year tyres.....Google "Red Holden Monaro HQ" awesome cars!!
Luckily, I don't need parts and have sold a few things off of my donor vehicle. . I hope that prototype and the Revenge car get back together! I would love to see the "Car Corner" on just those 2 cars when they are done!
Really interesting video Josh! Who’d have thought there’d be a collection of GTO parts like this. Hopefully there’s somebody out there with a similar G8 collection.
My Landlord Recently GAVE Me His 2004 GTO... It Needs Parts Thanks To His Granddaughter Not Knowing How To Drive A Baby Like This.... Need A Fender, Front Bumper Cover, ALL Grill Inserts... BUT... I Will EVENTUALLY Get This Car Looking GREAT...Again... Newer Steering Wheel Would Be GREAT Too!..
Holy geeze, I will definitely be getting a hold of you guys *Bummer, just heard the end of the video, I'll give it a look see anyway, hope I don't bug ya.
That's an amazing collection! I will try to get some money together for some of these parts, but I know how expensive they get, so it will be a while. Hopefully before that deadline!
Damn, I need a new spoiler, mine cracked. Nice to see some parts. Sad how they came to exist though. Our cars are slowly diminishing in number. I know that if mine ever gets wrecked that I likely won't be able to replace it. 06 GTO M6 forever. Mine is still under 80K miles.
Just sent you an email about a part. This is the last piece needed for my manual swap, I hope. I’m having trouble locating it and am looking everywhere I can. Hope you can find it for me. Like most things it’s discontinued, probably not complicated to build but I’d prefer factory correct parts on my car. Thank you
In response to update #2, my apologies for being difficult, lol. I'll make sure I do my research and get proper part numbers next time to avoid back and forth.
Everyone, The response to this video has been overwhelming and I'm just trying to keep up with parts requests. If there's something you are looking for, please send me an e-mail at ccrtechwi@gmail.com and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Be sure to include your shipping zip code so I can get you an estimate on shipping costs. Please don't request any parts in the comments section.
I've always wanted to know the crashworthiness of these cars. They were never tested here in the US and I have a 2006 that I bought new. Are there any pictures of how the front A-pillars survived in an offset crash?
Bought mine a2005 a lil over a yr ago paid 8500 had 140,000 k it's now in process of getting new alternator ,hoses and air intake it also has been aluminum radiator and water pump and it's got about 170,000 k now on it it's been decent car for the miles it's Gona need a transmission asap I've only got two gears first and second that went when we did the radiator but even with the lack of top end I can still win most short races I get into with it it's a tank but it's easy to drive and control I actually have grown more into the car as I've had it and until now parts for the body haven't been easy to find that's the draw back but alotta parts are cheap for motor so that's a big plus haven't had issues finding engine parts at all I'd say if ur getting one definitly try find one with lower miles but be prepared to have to replace certain parts no matter wat they go thru water pumps like crazy alternators aren't to great gotta get a bigger one and if u like bass systems u havE no trunk space wat soever because gas tank is in the trunk behind back seat so it's like putting it sub in a closet then shutting closet door then tryin bump it and it sounds hidious lol but that's my only issue with it really wish they were lighter to but the weight helps alil if u gotta drive it took n snow which I have once and it did pretty good for how much snow we had at that time if I can think of anything else I put another lil message out oh yea the suspension if it has stock suspension U will want to change that out asap springs and all they ride so much better if u do and handle pretty good for a tank when u change that stuff out
Josh, I have an 04 manual GTO that I bought for parts. it is mostly striped of parts. I have the front and rear cradles, interior, doors, trunk lid, wheels, shell etc.. this stuff is looking for a home. I'm in Bakersfield Ca.
Well, I hope if it all gets sold as a lot, the purchaser will give everyone a shoutout...I'm getting back into a GTO this year (plan anyways), but I got shafted so extremely hard on the parts hunt on my '04 M6.
@@JoshsCarCorner Good to know! Seems to be plenty of 05/06 brake upgrades just waiting to be done, and that's besides the cosmetic bits. That is one hell of a Holy Grail, definitely archiving for when I pick up an 05/06 this year.
I will be emailing this address very soon my 05 needs some parts to put it back togther I seen most on video I been looking for a long min for these too thanks man real talk
You're crazy for taking on this large of a project, but thank you. If this parts guy has a business building cars, why not hire some 20 year old guy to do nothing but run an ebay page selling off this stuff...
I hate seeing people do this and leaving the parts out in the weather. People do it in Australia and by the time they put it up for sale they're usually junk.
I've discussed that with friends from Australia, been told you guys are in serious need of doors. I know a guy that has a shipping container constantly going between LA and Sydney. If enough parts were ordered, we could build a storage crate to store parts and get it on his shipping container on its way to Sydney.
Go to gtog8ta.com, get a new fob and a key blank. The dealer will have to cut the key part for you, your best bet will be a dealer that you know used to sell Pontiacs. Then you can program it yourself or pay them to program it instantly.
I need alot of under the hood stuff for my car could you please help me out I bought a reposition car and the took alot of stuff that I need under the hood please give me some info on how to get ahold of him
Hey Josh, my name is Josh also. I own an 06 gto that was originally a full sap package car. My rear sap bumper was damaged. I have since replaced it with the stock rear bumper but would really love to find and replace my broken sap rear bumper. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Josh
Need a driver seat plastic backing. A exterior door panel trim screw retainer. Floor mat and the floor mat hooks. Two rear headrests. Anyone help a goat out?
Yeah g'day Josh I heard you're commenting on the HSV the white one the VZ meaning the model I know you talked about Randy Reese's left hand utes and you talked about a Holden VY that is also known as the model as you've done your homework and you must hot we know that so on the Monaros or GTA's your have VY meaning the model in the vin the V Z meaning the model in the vin if you have your manual book with you Josh you're also explains the models in there of the VIN numbers don't know if they put that in the American ones that were imported over there I'm assuming they did
But the whole pile only bid up to about 15k.... and didn't sell...sooooo..... still, someone will have to do what he did, dedicate a Barn or open field for a pile of parts that they will literally sit on for the rest of their life. But, to GTO/Holden fans, this is Nirvana...
Are you on drugs? You really think one person could steal that many GTOs and nobody would notice? These cars were all purchased as Salvage write-offs for their drivetrains. I thought I made that clear in the video, but I guess you have to watch it to know that.
No a crew wierdo one guy can easily sell em all why strip all the engines on that many good bodies clearly they weren't wrecked at all and if was a theft insurance car clearly would have gone back to the owner since they must have found it to sell it to this guy n yes I love my weed so thank you.
@@ryanrobitaille5903 You clearly didn't watch the same video as the one I made. Yes, he removed the VINs off the ones that were crushed, but they weren't good bodies. They were crashed, hence salvage titles. The few good bodies he has are also salvage titles, but for different reasons like electrical issues or flood damage. One was stolen and its interior was slashed, it was given a salvage title. You want to make a claim like the one you're making, you better have more evidence to bring to the table than your opinion. I have seen the titles, and I have spent enough time with this guy to know that he's an honest broker. I wouldn't be trying to help him if I didn't feel that way. If you had watched any of my other videos, you'd know that I'm trying to educate people and help them preserve their cars, not rip them off of help others to do so. But keep pushing your little theory if you want to. I'd love to hear from anyone that believes you over me.
