I full hopper of pellets will last 4+ hours. The smoker will only smoke for 4 hours before stopping the smoke cycle and moving to a strictly cooking cycle. You can start another 4 hours of smoke if you want at that point. It is designed that way because, after extensive testing and talking with bbq experts, 4 hours seems to be the sweet spot and any more time in the smoke doesn't seem to add much more smoke flavor as the bark has usually built up enough in that time. It also helps keep people new to smoking from accidentally "over smoking" their food as the Indoor Smoker is a closed system unlike open outdoor smokers. Hope that helps.
