PLEASE more Paleo experimentation there’s so many fun techs we can play. Weighbridge, redeemable jar, resonator engine with searchable battle floodgate in red screen, Loris / pot of avarice in a deck with only 3-4 monsters and a bunch of draws to get to reasoning AND you can summon it easily with Manq cat etc. So much fun stuff
Yep, the cards it's fusing into just has to say "2 (archetype) monsters" that the traps fit into. Like dinormohpia could into kentragina if they set two dinomorphia traps.
people have been reaching Master 1 each season since josh popularized it. it's super viable once you know what you're doing. it just take a while because of the grindy nature of it.
Will Josh ever try Tyrant's Throes Paleozoic? I use it in a lot of the events with Giant Ballpark and level 2 insects to turbo out normal monsters with a rank 2 toolbox. You also get to use Lose 1 Turn which for some reason is almost never banned in events.
This is not some kind of MD event where the card pool is limited though, this is ranked where you can use every legal card in the game. In ranked, there is no way you should be playing a card as bad as Tyrant's Throes; going first, Paleo tends to win even without floodgates (unless you get blown out by mass backrow removal, but floodgates don't fix that issue), and going second into an established board, Tyrant's Throes does nothing. There is tons of way better cards to be playing before Tyrant's Throes ever becomes a consideration. And while I can't say for sure how he feels about this matter, I get the impression that using floodgates is simply not how Joshua envisions his Paleo gameplay. Which I'd agree with, if that's the case - if you want your main win condition to be floodgates, don't turn a deck into "bad stun", just play a normal stun deck at that point. And if your deck wins even without floodgates, don't play floodgates, instead play cards that actually matter.
I think the funniest thing to me in this video was the games where the opponent just combos off for several minutes and ends it with "Normal summon flood gate" it really just felt like the definition of kicking your opponent while they're down to make a board full of interrupts and then end it with a flood gate.
As for the ruling you asked for Josh: If you magical hats a target that's been rise to full height'ed, you're forced to tell which target is a legal attack target for your opponent to keep the gamestate legal.
IIRC you can't Ash Magical Hats on MD because the Japanese text of Ash (which is the one that matters for MD mechanics) specifies that you can only use it againt effects that would special summon monsters from the deck, and Magical Hats summons spells/traps. Blame the TCG for not translating Ash's effect correctly.
Magical Hats is SUCH a funny setup card for GY focused Spell/Traps. And being able to use Spell and Trap cards as Super Poly targets sometimes because of their names is also hilarious.
Literally back to MD just to play Paleo. Thanks for being champ. Deck is awesome and fun to play. Most frustating match up probably Salamangreat, Purrely, Labrynth.
Hey I tried that in duel links back in the day, although I used it to put my trap monsters back into my spell and trap zones and to load up my graveyard with paleozoic, it was funny using them as torpedos when tekki curse was up, I know its a little different but it was a much lower powered format

I still have hope for Ritual Beast. Sure, it will not be as powerfull as Fiendsmith Snake Eyes & Fiendsmith Yubel. But I think plenty of players will play it because it's more fun then Snake Eyes.
I dont think they will hit rivalry because its only good vs snake eyes and voiceless which there trying to hit like how to put di fi and macro to 3 to hit tearlaments
Your reasoning for not banning floodgates makes no sense. Don’t ban the toxic cards because they would be admitting their game is unbalanced as shit? So you’re applauding them for doubling down on their mistake. Stop defending Komoney for awful balancing decisions
He wasn't defending Konami at all, he was just trying to make a point about how they manage to make changes over time. Konami never would ban a bunch of cards that does similar things at once like floodgates for example.This won't happen because this is not the way they does things, they slowly hit cards that are being played a lot in tournaments and become big issues for the game. That's how they do things.
They aren't Master Duel only. They are stream highlights, and most streams involve Master Duel because paper is very hard to do on stream, and every non-MD simulator is terrible in comparison. So, effectively, if you're only interested in paper play, you'll enjoy less than half the content here. Thank God Josh doesn't waste his time in Dueling Books that often.

I will literally quit the game if they ban Masquerena. It's not that I don't think they have a right to do it. But it will be such a clear sign to me that Konami doesn’t want to make the kind of game I want to play. And ftr, the Dark Jeroid argument is stupid. Y'all know for sure you would still be playing her if she looked like Formula Synchron. And y'all never complain about Dis Pater. I don't think her looking like Jeroid would make a difference to anyone but gay girls. Also, putting her in the same basket as Baronne, Savage, and Apollousa is ridiculous. This is for the simple reason that she doesn't have the word negate on her anywhere, meaning you need a separate justification for the ban. Again, if konami decides that link summoning on your opponent's turn is too good, they can ban her. It's their perogative. But I love that kind of gameplay and will leave.
