Fantastic for impoverished areas. By 2020, it"s hoped that they will go for $1 apiece. I sincerely hope that happens and people who need them are given access. Regardless of whether or not they"re perfect, they"re certainly better than nothing and can offer relief to the many who have no access to an optometrist, at an extremely low cost. Brilliant.
A few years ago I got paid $15 by the inventor of these (I got to meet him and stuff) to spend about an hour doing eye tests and answering questions while wearing these. Very similar to holding glasses up to your face backwarss
Where can you purchase a pair of these, and what is the reason they never became a house hold name? I am going to assume greed! I couldnt imagine how much money the eyeglasses industry would lose from these being distibuted across the globe
That's relly stuff of genius, because all the people who already watched this video,certainly think: why I didn't thought that before? It's that many genius do: think and have breakthrough thoughts.
I thought of adjustable lenses a long time ago. But many amateur astronomers have. In fact, centuries ago people realized a telescope could utilize mercury in a dish to substitute as the main mirror of a reflector. Its main problem is that it could only be pointed at the zenith. What Silver did was find a way to FIX these glasses once fitted so they wouldn't change. These glasses don't work for everybody. E.g., not astigmatism, and what about bifocals?
