I think he may have used the American West Ridge route first climbed in 1963 by Tom Hornbein and Willi Unsoeld. It is a more technical route that passes precisely through the Horbein Couloir just bellow the summit.

No he had to go back at 7300m as a true mountaineer he knew when he reached his limits for this try

@@jeazyee1079 still very good for winter and being solo in my opinion. I mean, I dont know what the circumstances were but maybe it was simply impossible due to weather.
