this was mamamoo s 7 year point and lot of fans at the time had not resigned and felt like a disband song. But they are now 10 years and are all doing solo tours. Love mamamoo. They are so diverse in music. Recommend piano man and egotistical .

The ending refers to two of them sharing the same dream...that's Hwasa and Wheein who have been best friends since they were in middle school. To debut together in the same group was like a dream come true for both of them.

Mamamoo was created by RBW specifically to have the best vocalists, complete focus on vocals and live performance in an era where choreography is the focus of pretty much every group. Mamamoo is known in korea as basically the best live vocals kpop group, top tier with the few other groups who can claim to be the best of the best like BTOB(who are friends with mamamoo). These women started older than typical for Kpop idols as well as from the start being lyricists, composers, musicians and choreographers, they are not like other groups with having everything done for them and backed by a lot of money for production and advertising. They had to be part of composing and producing their music, Busk in street performances early on and really work hard to get their fame. I saw them live in los angeles last year and they really sing as well live as they do in recorded studios, very very few singers can do live and they do 3 and 4 hour concerts, singing that well to the end along with other fun, comedy skits during performances for example. They have over 400 videos to watch, pretty much every song ranges from great to unreal, always go for live performances, this song has a live performance video for example. BUT also watch the MVs as these are well produced as you saw here, ranging again from beautiful and stunning to hilarious. Yes Purple Kiss is the new group from RBW, in fact there are videos of mamamoo members helping purple kiss during training, camping(they all have youtube channels, I suggest Solarsido first because Solar the power belter you heard has a whole lot of covers that are unbelievably good). Purple kiss follows a similar model of composing their own music and choreo, they too focus on vocals and performance but not as extreme as Mamamoo did for vocals. Most people watch the Immortal Songs, Dingo Killing voice and the Hwasa TV show(yes mamamoo does TV and other stuff not music related) Episode 8, Mamamoo Live Hits collection. All 3 of these are live performances. Each of the members, Solar(powerbelter), Moonbyul (rapper), Wheein (honey vocals), Hwasa (sultry vocals) all have solo albums as well. Each member can rap and sing by the way, and they sing every genre, mamamoo has a whole lot of jazz, big band, retro styles, reggaeton, rock, pop, R&B and more. They also have a subgroup Mamamoo+ which has some awesome songs, tons of OSTs which are amazing and covers which sound sometimes better than the originals. You cant go wrong with this group, no other group has 4 top tier female vocalists who sound this good together. You cant go wrong with purple kiss either.

“Where are we now” and “I miss you” are my favorite songs vocally. Next level! These girls can sing. In my opinion they are the best female singers out there right now.

Purple Kiss tells people they are from the same agency as Mamamoo. One thing you can count on from all RBW groups is great vocals. They are also more likely to use real instruments.

Mamamoo is an extraordinary group with an impeccable 10-year career to date. It is a very talented group where none of its members are left behind, all four have impressive voices, they all play at least one instrument (most play more than one), they are the female group with the most accreditations in the history of kpop with more than 200 songs under their names and Moonbyul, the rapper, is the most credited female idol in history with over 120 songs to her name. Their discography includes almost any genre one can think of, from funck, jazz, blues, bosanova to Latin, regge, ballads, hip hop, R&B and more. It is a group that not had an easy journey, especially in its beginnings since they are the first group that their company debuted, so they were the ones who practically built the company from the economic point to the prestige. Not having the budget they themselves had to do everything from wearing their own clothes, putting on makeup, doing their own choreography and even doing street performances to gain an audience. At the level of talent, Mamamoo is already a show and if we add to that their personalities, how much they love and respect each other, their strong characters (believe me, this is not the group that can be forced to do something, they always have the last word) and how funny they are, then it's the group you totally fall in love with.

You are right, Hwasa is the one who does I Love My Body. They all four have very successful solo careers along with being a group with the best vocals in kpop (honestly I'll put them up against any pop vocalists anywhere). The Killing Voice will give you a notion of the variety of styles and genres that done over the years. Their ultimate flex is The Immortal Songs Medley, this is a concert clip from 2017. The Immortal songs is a Korean competition show where the contestants cover songs by famous Korean artists. They had a tendency to look down on idol groups but Mamamoo won them over with their fantastics vocals and performances. They were the first female idols to win and the first idol group to win more than once. They appeared 14 times and won 3. Anyway, the actual episodes of the show will be blocked, but the medly is fine to react to. And Purple Kiss is my second favorite group after Mamamoo. So glad you like them as well.

I love Mamamoo. Their songs are great and even their commercial songs are my favorite. Their medleys of covers of other songs are perfect. Their live singing is impeccable, flawless performances! thanks for reacting to MMM, all members are all rounder, they are the 1st group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group is still active. Mamamoo live is just as good if not better than MMM on record, esp when they've got an audience. You'll hear people say they eat cd's for breakfast and you can't beat their stage presence and joy in performing as they feed off the audience's energy and work the crowd. enjoy !

I'm not sure wawn is the best song to start Mamamoo. This song was a turning point in their career. It happened at their 7years (when contracts have to be renewed for the first time). One member didn't renew (Wheein) and left for another company for her solo activities but stayed for group activities. Then Hwasa did the same. 1 group, 4 solo artists and 3 companies. A mess. One of the first time members left companies without leaving the group and still be successful. They had to assess their needs, wishes and will as solo artist and as a group (Result : Where are we now). It's when they decided to go at their own pace. Taking time to do solo and group activities not carrying for pressure from companies, industry, fans. Their are a 10yo group now. They have been criticized since the beginning for so many reasons but, thanks to their talent, they are now respected by all. They don't feel the need to rush albums and content like before this song. They want to enjoy they careers. Even if they have important solo career (2024 for exemple is full of solo album, concert, fancon, world tour for each member) they never go against each other. Their album release never happen at the same time not to compet or outshine each other. As solo artist they work along each other, supporting each other. When they will do group activities again no member will be pressure into it. There is so much to say about Mamamoo... The important thing is, they are vocal and harmony queens

When it comes to vocals I have to say mamamoo is one of my favorites along with the older group bigmama I would recommend both killing voices if you haven't checked them out yet.

The MAMAMOO members are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop as of Aug 27/23 - Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols at 117(2nd most credited famale artist overall... Yoon Mirae at 139), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well. - Solar has 41 credits to her name. She wrote the lyrics and composition for her solo song, “Spit it Out”. Composer on "Honey". - Hwasa has 46 credits. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. ("Somebody" w/Loco). - Wheein has 10 credits (that I can find, maybe more) COULD use an Update, as this is 9ish months ago LoL... if anyone has the info (TY)

This is the only girl group I listen to. BTS keeps me too busy but sometimes I need Mamamoo. I recommend the Killing Voice medley live. Ty!

I love this song, but their discography is huge and varied. This was also at a time when Moonbyul was not always fully included in purely "vocal" arrangements; she has since deservedly eon many plaudits for her singing. If you like "singers", kpop is a wonderful treasure trove. I prefer MMM and BTOB live (for the latter Killing Voice they struggled to record them all, as they were so loud!) Again, most groups have truly stand out vocalists and ensemble skills, but I return to these two groups frequently for the variety of genres and their genuine team dynamics.

I highly recommend you watch their Dingo Killing voice performance ti get an idea with their discography. It has an English subtitle.

As the local Moonbyul stan (the group's rapper), I can say a lot of fans were also a bit disappointed that she was relegated to the rap section here. Not because it was bad, I don't think Byul knows how to give a bad rap, but because she has improved so much vocally and it seemed a shame not to show that on a title track (and especially one as meaningful as WAWN). If you want to check out her vocal skills, I recommend her Second World stages (though I think the TV network that aired the show can be a bit happy on the copyright claims?), as well as the comeback stages for their b-side of Ten Nights, and her most recent solo comeback of Touchin' and Movin'! All the girls have solo careers on top of their group activities so there is a HUGE backlog of songs you can check out, spanning all sorts of genres. But if you're liking the vocal, ballad styling of this, I would recommend checking out the WAW mini album. It's only 3 more tracks and they're all ballads.
