I've been coming out a 8 year long depression spell. I dropped out of college because of my depression. In my time trying to figure my life out and deal with the anxieties of life, I found synth, electronic, and other forms of midi based music. I'm a classically trained guitarist and I mostly play metal/rock music. I have found a new love for music through synth music and it has made me not only want to play rock/metal stuff, but also has made me want to create music again. Honestly depression, anxiety, and other mental health can seem like forever, but in time we find ways to cohabitate with it because you never truly escape it. Synth music is alot like that. Sounds cohabitate together, and at first they don't make sense because they are all warbled and we feel scared of it, but as time goes on, we learn to make sense of it, and life makes the music of our struggle. It's a beautiful thought and sentiment.
@Tim Sometimes we all need help pooping. Sometimes our poop is depressed. Sometimes you're the piece of poop that's depressed. That was me, I was the depressed piece of poo
I've discovered that chillwave doesn't have to convey a distant, technological feel foreshadowing a cold, interplanetary society. When I listen to chillwave, I am able to appreciate the beauty of everyday life, at the human scale.
For context, I just watched Whisper of the Heart (Studio Ghibli) this morning and those vibes helped me to appreciate everyday life. I listen to chillwave, synthwave, rock, alternative, psychadelic, lofi, electronic, and more. And all of it has the capacity to inspire :D
Listening to this while I code websites to get a job. *Wish me luck.* Edit: I landed a developer job at an NFT startup in December of 2021! Thank you all for the kind words :) edit 2: landed a job at one of the top 100 crypto projects building infrastructure that will power the entire ecosystem :D

A culminating serious of life circumstances of blood lust and hatred for all mankind mixed with a desire to find solitary peace in this world brought me here
why is synthwave mostly ignored by mainstream music? we used to have a 'new' sound each decade.. now mainstream is frozen in time for 20 years. synthwave should be this decade's 'sound' and they're missing it.
because synthwave and vaporwave and all of their sibling genres of music are profoundly niche tastes. It's music built out of nostalgic sounds. Synth has been used in music for a LONG time, i's just now we've come to like the lo-fi esc genres a lot more. I think that electronic music is the sound of this decade. Of course its been around for longer than this decade alone, but its exploded in popularity over the last 10 or so years to the point that entire new genres (such as synthwave or other "waves (besides vaporwave that ones been around for a while) can be created really easily). Furthermore, this style of music isnt new, its been used in arcade machines for decades, thus the nostalgia people connect with it.
29:37 This music is f.*KING fire! I could totally imagine this mashed up with a song from the two best musician robots of the known universe, Daft Punk.
After listening to Asthenic and Odysseus for a couple years, hearing a lot of the same tracks but with new ones in between in your mixes is a really cool experience. Slowly going through uploads in order of when you uploaded them!
I'm really enjoying chill music lately. This is a nice blend between upbeat and soft notes... Like the after beating a boss or entering a new land in a game.
I've been studying for an upcoming exam for a very long time. I really hope it works out well. This music is nice to listen to when feeling unsure about life. It makes you think, it'll be okay, in fact everything is okay as it is now.
idk whats going on with me, im not sad and im not happy im just in the middle but this playlist made go out all that tears stuckd in me, but not by sadness or happiness, just tears that makes me feel better than once, feel better with myself, idk why im saying this but if u feel the same, don't worry u are not alone
Learning and not being a Follower of others is the best part about my Journey.. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a bubble around certain people and sometimes I feel like I'm a family reunion but most of time I feel like I'm in futuristic movie because it don't seem real..but that's how it is when the Lord is showing you things that you never knew about and how much he Loves you..He does things that we can't Imagine no matter how deep our thoughts are and it's Beautiful...The Game in never messed up when the Lord Jesus Christ is in Mix believe that✨ I LOVE YOU 💕
Synthwave is just an accumulation of gentle sounds that compliment other sounds around them. And thus makes it the perfect genre that literally anybody can enjoy.
Listening to this after I took two tabs of acid, this hands down the best moment of my life. I've got my pets, 3 scented candles, some tea, my viola, piano, guitar, sketchbook, and my family to make this a damn good trip. I took my first tab an hour ago, second one is now, wish me luck friends!
@@millicentwood549 it was amazing. That was my second time with psychedelics (The first being one tab of acid from the same guy). I have a lot of anxiety and depression, and I'm going through a LOT in my life, and both times I took acid it did WAY more for me in one day each than therapy and medication did for me in a whole year. It was so mentally relieving that I actually did shrooms a few weeks after that with my brother, and it was even better than the two acid trips combined. The day after, I went to church with my grandma (I'm not Christian but I wanted to visit my grandma) and I ended up seeing my dad there too. I hadn't seen him since he relapsed on heroin a few months before that so I was a little anxious, but we got along fine. As a matter of fact, we were even planning on doing shrooms together which could finally put an end to his crippling heroin addiction. I mean, I can't now because he went to jail for trying to sell crack and heroin to an undercover cop (he just got out but he's got an ankle bracelet now and my grandma told me not to talk to him since he's with the same shitty people he was with last year before he overdosed and almost died). So basically, yes, it went really well, because had I not taken those psychedelics I would not be mentally ready for the extra load of shit in my life.
@@ti2218 damn dude i feel you i wen tthrough almost the same shit but not with my dad it was my best friend he was/is a cocaine addict and he od from too much the last year so if been trying to get him to stoo but he doesnt want it because hes going trough allot of shit rn
