+Austin Wintory Goosebumps! Amazing job. Journey has been one of the best experiences I've ever had. And a LOT of that is due to Austin Wintory. Thank you, again, for everything.
This song is really the culmination of the entire human race. So many languages, phrases taken from mythology from throughout the world, throughout time, played on a variety of instruments from around the world, used at the end of an interactive work distributed with the pinnacle of technology.
+Brian Choi As far as I know, Latin, Ancient english, Ancient Greek, French and Japanese. The texts are from epic poems (Aeneid, Beowulf, Illiad, Joan of Arc and Bashō) ;)
+Brian Choi there is a thread in thatgamecompany's forum where you can read all the passages that appear in the song :) Austin Wintory himself replied verifying everything, if I recall correctly... Or you can search for the lyrics in Google, I'm sure you'll find them explained
Reminds me in a good way of this reaction ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9cfUK2o8zjs.htmlm10s. Since finding so many beloved childhood songs done so well in this and other orchestral versions I've been happily crying in the car when a particularly high point gets hit. Enjoy it! :D
play the game if you havent. its beyond a masterpiece. i cant think of a better way to describe the journey of life that we are all on. a passion for moving music and a rudimentry understanding of subtext is all that is required.
The game made me break down into a sobbing mess. And left asking flat out asking "why am I crying? I'm not sad so why am I crying?" Really only song to ever break me like that
2:27 - 2:31 When she hits the note, lets it fall down and picks it back up.....this always gets me. This little play she does with the note is outstanding and in my eyes a perfect addition to the song because the original singer Lisbeth Scott doesnt do that. Very nice Sabina!
I like lisbeth's version better, Sabina has a very nice voice but tbh what you pointed out just sounds like her losing her breath and having to pick it up again. I found lisbeth's vocals to sound much more emotional at the more passionate parts of the song, and sweeter, the way it rings when she hits a high note sends chills down my spine in a way other singers can't manage, and the way she purposefully breaks it at points to give it a more tribal sound adds a lot.
@@RingoRoad I know what you mean but listen closely. She doesn't take a breath there though. It's a continuous part with no break. She is taking a breath at 2:32 - 2:33. Roughly a second after the part which was mentioned ends. (Btw I am SkyyFire just on another account)
+Eyerex My mom's a skeptic about the storytelling power of video games. I made her watch me play this for a minute once and it slightly changed her opinion.
+HarryBillyBobGeorge I loved the game and music so much i bought the album which for me is a bit different as i normally listen to 80's and 90's Electro plus Synthwave these days
DavidtheWavid Happened to me too. My mom wasn't into storytelling and artistics creations that video games could be, but she watched me play this game entirely (only 1hour and 30minutes) and she was blown away at the end. She who never gave any interest in a video game before.
Maybe I'm alone in this but every time I watch this video I can't help but weep because of the overwhelming beauty. Austin Wintory with this one song has managed to stir every memory of my life and bring it to a joyful culmination that is indescribable. Thank you to everyone that has made this video possible!
Stat sua cuique dies (To each his day is given) Stat sua cuique dies (To each his day is given) Maél is mé tó féran (Time it is for me to go) Ahleto men mei nostos (Lost is my homecoming) Ahleto men mei nostos (Lost is my homecoming) C'est pour cela que je suis née (I was born for this) Kono michi ya / Yuku hito nishi ni (Along this road / Goes no one) Kono michi ya / Aki no kure (Along this road / This autumn eve) C'est pour cela que je suis née (I was born for this) Ne me plaignez pas (Do not pity me) C'est pour cela que je suis née (I was born for this)
I prefer original recordings of music almost 100% of the time, but damn it all if I don't revisit this video a couple times per year. Everything about it is beautiful.
This is only the second time I've listened to an individual track rather than the entire work as a complete experience. Still struck by so many feels that I can't fully comprehend but cannot be without. Thank you Mr Wintory
She is magnificent! And the arrangement, setting and performance of the orchestra are amazing too. Thank you to all who had a part in bringing this joy to us.
Just stumble onto this... I don't know how many times I have listened to the soundtrack, but this not only gave me chills... it got me choked up. Such an incredible performance of a wonderful piece.
I don't know whether it's done on purpose but I like the fact that she rolls the /r/ in french the classical way, like how it could have been done during the 15th century!
Goosebumps! Amazing job. Journey has been one of the best experiences I've ever had. And a LOT of that is due to Austin Wintory. Thank you, again, for everything.
It destroyze me and it picks me up again!... Such a good song from the game and the orchestra and the singer are close to perfection in my opinion!... Thank you for givin us this!... In this big pile of corporate shit we live in, is nice to find a gem once in a while
I saw a live performance of this song today, and wow this video is amazing but you guys- i wish you were there with me, because sabina live is phenomenal. The instruments, the way her vocals reverberated throughout the hall. I do not know how to go on with my life after such an experience-
Remember. In the darkness of the terrible night. In famines of body, in the depths of heart's blight. In pain and sorrow. From dusty road and lonely fire In weariness and lonely hour. Under strange skies, under strange stars. As strangers in strange lands. Endure it well. All your sufferings are but a moment. We were born for this.
DAMN. Why am I only seeing this now? I saw the video on the Dragonborn Comes but THIS ONE. This one looked like the singer was really enjoying themselves!! I couldn’t help but smile. They were FIERCE with this one!!
