Arnel Pineda, Filipino lead singer of Journey sings Don't Stop Believing at Hard Rock Cafe in Makati City with former bandmates of the Zoo, before embarking on his European and U.S. tour in 2008
Arnel is amazing. I have been a Journey fan for years and loved Steve Perry's voice. However is every bit as good as Steve was. Arnel's personality and life story are touching. From the streets to stardom. I'm glad...he deserves it. Great voice Arnel!!!
Wow, 2021 and Arnel is still as humble and joyful as he was over a decade ago. This performance was amazing! Thank you overlords of the universe for bringing Journey and Arnel together!
Oh get over it tribute band they wanted to continue being journey and Steve did not want to return so they found this not only a great singer but a great inspiration to me to and so many others around the world and I have been through a lot of hard times but I live by these words I am a singer too so thank you Journey for the song and thank you arnel DON'T STOP BELIEVING
***** this guy has been given a gift. A gift that inspires many around the world. I wish I could sing half as good as he can in church on Sunday or any day. good post and good luck dude.
Arnel gives me goosebumps when he sings, he is so versatile and although he replaced SP with Journey...he can at vocal fry like Axel Rose when h sang November rain.
Mr. Arnel Pineda is awesome. When I hear Journey songs on the radio, I could tell when it’s S. Perry or A. Pineda that is singing. Mr. Pineda deserved to be included in the Hard Rock Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!! If it wasn’t for him, the Journey band would not have gotten it, in my opinion. He was “included” but Steve Perry and the rest of the band were the ones that got the credit. Mr. Arnel took the Journey to a whole new level and with Filipinos, like me, around the world, when the Journey did the world tour, the band gained millions more of supporters and fans!!! If it wasn’t for him, Journey would not have gotten the award, in my opinion. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸… Alrighty.. IDC about the haters!!! ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼
NoSteveNo Journey, Arnel once said, hatred begets hatred.. love begets love.. So,what we can do (Arnel fans) is to accept you w/ open arms.. Don't be bitter w/ 'ur life..try to accept the fact that Arnel Rocks!!! Yeah...
nostevenojourney will always be a bitter person. he will never accept Arnel. I loved Steve when he was with Journey and now I love Arnel. It's still Journey to me.
When Journey members were perusing RU-vid cover bands in search of a lead singer, maybe the thought came to them that "this Filipino guy" doesn't have the look they wanted. If so, I'm glad they drowned that thought in the bathtub. Steve wrote the songs and made them famous and we all love him but he needs to live his life on his terms. He wasn't an option and Journey had massive shoes to fill. Arnel was an option. I love Steve but because of Arnel, I don't miss Steve. They picked the right guy, maybe a gutsy decision in 2008, it's obvious it's worked now and frankly it seemed obvious then. I love Arnel from the first time i heard him.
If haters call Journey a tribute band because there's a lead vocals replacement then they're already a tribute band during Steve Perry. For Steve is a replacent too and isn't the one who originated Journey. Through the years Journey had 42 replacements and 6 of it is from lead vocals.
Holy crap. This guy is performing in a venue with doubtful acoustics and bringing the house down. It's clear why Journey brought him in to replace Steve Perry. It's uncanny...
The other members of THE ACTUAL BAND think he's a perfect fit and really love his voice, so what's so wrong with Arnel being the new lead singer? It sounds almost exactly like their golden days, so to me there's DEFINATELY Journey even without Steve.
Tobias Vänerlöv yes i agree 👍 he is great replacement n he have very diverse vocal skill n range... He could sing like anyone including bonjovi steve perry love Arnel... If Journey don't like him n his voice why would he'd be in the Journey
Who would ever thought after that gigs or a show @Hard Rock Cafe, a star is born to be a lead singer of the most powerful band in the world of entertainment - JOURNEY!
From Texas. November 20, 2021. In just a few weeks it will be 14 years since Arnel joined Journey and they are getting ready to go on tour again. Arnel has remained a happy good natured guy who loves to sing and is a wonderful performer. His influence on those he meets and his fans is remarkable. He has certainly influence me in the music I like and the other singers I listed to. If you get a chance to go see Arnel and Journey preform, go. I promise you won’t be disappointed. He deserves every blessing.
hi! :) At the time of the video he was already a member of Journey, he returned to the Philippines for this farewell concert before embarking on a tour with Journey.
Without any idea that one day, Neil Schon would find him. God works in mysterious ways. Such an inspiring story. As for my case, I hope to make my own mark too. Life has been unfair to me so much already, my time will come. I don't wanna be in the shadows anymore. I wanna rise on top of the world too in my own way.
Awesome! I'm so happy kids are discovering Journey now. My son asked me to buy him their last album (with Pineda). He knows nothing about the old Journey, no idea there was once a Steve. This is good to show Steve Perry what being an ass leads to. He dissed Journey. Now I bet he would like to be in Arnel's place, touring the world.
Hello Chavezoid! I also just recently discovered Arnel in youtube. So I asked my dad if I could buy a dvd Live in Manila of Journey and he approved it. Then we watched it with my mom (my parents are both Steve Perry fans). They were amazed with Arnel they thought he sounds like SP lol. They could tell the new songs from the old ones and because of that they now love Arnel and they are going with me to Journey’s concert on 3/31/2022 in San Francisco. You are a good mom for supporting you kid. Arnel has been inspiring the new generation with his life story and humble character. God bless Journey! 🙏♥️🎤
@@lagirl1349 wow bless you girl. I'm so glad you discovered Journey and Arnel. Wishing you and your parents great time watching their concerts live this 2022.
This was recorded at a time before the heavy rigors of touring with Journey began deteriorating his voice. It's a shame the world and Arnel weren't prepared for his rise to fame a decade sooner. The world wasn't ready for an Asian S. Perry until the 1st black US prez was elected. Imagine what his voice was like at age 30!
Arnel certainly does a better job as portraying Steve Perry than Obama did as portraying a US President. Don't compare Arnel to Obama and I promise not to compare Steve Perry to Trump or Bush, dipshit.
It's not Arnel..it's the band Journey that didn't care what the negative..they didn't listen they could lve easily let him go, but didn't.. so I think Journey deserve alot of respect for standing strong with this singer they believe to be their front man.
WOW--- No wonder Neal chon and J Cain got so impressed with AP--BUT they also mentioned that they have seen AP's 40 more song doing covers bands.. Good job Arnel--you deserved t be a frontal for Journey--- Bravo
Once again we have a case of a lead singer's ego breaking up a band. Steve Perry thought that he was bigger then the rest of the band and that they would just wait around for him to say jump and they would say how high. Arnel is extremely talented and happy to be part of one of the best bands to come out of the 70s. I wish the new Journey nothing but the BEST and I can't wait for them to be on tour again.
@@naskirnawas2037 come visit here dude in the Philippines. Arnel Pineda is not alone, you will find many Filipino can sing foreign song's. To see is to believe and it is ordinary here for us to sing foreign songs it was normal lol.
