Magnificent Carpinus ! Like you, I try to use as much as possible plants native to the place I live, which is Belgium. Carpinus betulus is one of my favourite plants to use as bonsai. Thanks for the interesting talk and showing us a beautiful tree.

Thanks Xavier. I wanted to tell you that I watched your video on books, and you had one from Paul Lesniewitz and wisteria bonsai is on the cover of the book. I will have to buy it just from sheer nostalgia.
I am truly fascinated with your story and perspective. Our experiences shapes how we view the world, ourselves, and our creativity. It has molded your artistry into something special. I absolutely love your Caprinus - one of my favourite species. I have a soft spot for 'Fairy Tale Trees'. Where I live, old Big-Leaf Maple trees (Acer macrophyllum) take on this exact form - pretty spooky when seen through the fog on a cold winter day! I have found some artists/RU-vid channels in Canada and the US who are embracing naturalistic bonsai styles. These include Rakuyo Deciduous Bonsai, Ryan Neil (Bonsai Mirai), Nigel Saunders (The Bonsai Zone). I'm sure there are many more out there for all skill levels.

I have to admit, that maples generally, are becoming one of my favorite species over time, they have some truly great properties which makes them good candidates for bonsai. I watch Ryan since his beginnings (I mentioned it in the video originally, but it was edited out due to length and pace of the video) and he is doing amazing work for bonsai. Also Andrew from Rakuyo, I follow his channel and Im glad there is a guy focusing on deciduous trees. And Nigel work in creating content is inspiring.
