Journey to Spirit Island // canoe camping at Fisherman's Bay on Maligne Lake (Jasper, Alberta) 

Spirit Island is one of the most photographed places in the Canadian Rockies, and we had it all to ourselves! We camped at Fisherman's Bay Campground nearby, so it was just a quick 20-30 min paddle to reach this iconic spot. In this video I will share trip details, permit information, and my camping setup. Canoe camping on Maligne Lake is tough work, but it's totally worth it to be so close to one of the top photography spots in Canada! Located in Jasper National Park, Maligne Lake stretches 22kms long past Spirit Island, all the way to the melt waters of the Coronet Glacier. It is the second-largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies!
