In my opinion, this is Max’s finest achievement. Being one of the few sole reasons as well as driving forces to encourage a company to make an impossible dream into a reality. As Zack once said: “Embrace your dreams...”
The best thing about this journey is that it has a happy ending with FF7 Remake being a fantastic game and in my opinion the best game of the year so far.
Yeah maybe it was hated by og fan bc of it change about the plot and end it not like in original. But it still gôd for me and many new player to ff in the world. I hope rebirt better
WHY did I get teary eyed hearing you tell that story about the developers finding motivation from your video? Hell, I've heard that story before AND it's not my own experience, yet I still teared up. Thank you Max for being the shining star of a fan that carried the torch for all of us fans who have been dying for this game for decades. And thank you Square for putting tireless effort into what looks like a dream come true. This is a rare kind of happiness.
Just remember that Maximilian Dood is shilling for SE. His stream is specifically sponsored by SE. Do you think he's going to talk shit about the fact that this is more like a sequel than an actual remake?
@@earthrise2001 As the finale of FF7R got closer, It dawned on Max that the Sephiroth in the game was in fact the Seph from the Advent Children era, as that was when he started the whole "black wing" version came around. In hind sight, seeing the black wing on FF7 Seph should've set off a few theories, hah
This video encompasses an arc in Max’s life story. And just like an arc, it’s nearing its climax, when Max finally plays the full game. I’ve been waiting for this moment for five years. The time has come everyone!!! WHO IS HYPED!?
Max I don’t know if you’ll ever read this or not, but I’d like to say that your passion and expression of said passion for video games has had an incredible impact on me ever since I found your channel. I didn’t play fighting games, and I still don’t regularly but I wouldn’t have touched a fighting if it were not for your videos covering all things fighting and Capcom. Similarly with JRPG’s and other Japanese games I would probably never have broken into that community had I not been infected by your sheer love for this shit. And more recently with FF7 , I had always known of FF7 and the final fantasy games, I had seen play through of 7 and 10 and 13 but had never played any of them. But after watching your enthusiasm for the game over the years and going back to watch playthroughs of the game as well as buying the game on ps4 to play through myself , I can say I’ve found myself greatly emotionally invested in the story characters and making of FF7. And presently I’ve just pre-ordered FF7 remake on my PS4 and can’t wait to play it. So for truly and fully filling my heart with a newer greater love for all things video game, I’d like to say from the bottom of my heart: Thank you dude, thank you.
Hear hear! Cheers to that! I always liked FF7. I would always start the game and play up to a certain part and then I'd never be able to finish it. My ADHD brain would play something else for a "break" and then I would never get back to it. Following Max on this journey helped me become even more attached the game and its characters. On April 10th, I shall join everyone in stream and play too. Let the marathon begin tonight!
I was born in 2000, so i just barely missed the FF7 hype growing up, and I never got to play it because I didn't have a Playstation or an emulator. I felt like I wasn't allowed to be excited for the remake because of that, and people were telling me I shouldn't get to enjoy it as much because I didn't grow up with the original. But I've been following max and his FF7 story since 2014, and have since been able to play the original because I have a PS4. His passion and love for this game and story is so contagious, and I feel like I have a connection to it all now thanks to him
When I saw that part when Max gets emotional, it’s contagious, we all know how much this game means to him and the Devs telling him they show their staff HIS reaction video to motivate them to create his FAVORITE game, to quote Marty McFly “Wow Doc, that’s heavy”.
Dylier A. Velazquez Nidoknight I know right? Like how do you even process that? Your a fan with a RU-vid channel, and you are the single person most responsible for motivating the development team during their darkest hours.... and you didn’t even know it... just a mind blowing revelation.
Dylier A. Velazquez Nidoknight id be so fucking happy if i found out the development team of the remake of my favorite game ever used ME as motivation ... thats WILDDDD
They should let genuine people present those E3 middle-time talks. There are some great videogames reporters with a lot of carisma such as the people in gameranx or OutsideXbox. I'd love to have them in an E3 and not some awkward journalist with mild videogame knowledge
Its weird how this has come full circle. I found your channel after Cloud got announced for Smash and I stayed because of every reaction video I saw, you were the ONLY one who knew what was happening when that the first notes of bombing mission started playing. I knew you were the real deal. The fact that your videos inspired the development staff is by far the most amazing story I’ve ever heard. Final Fantasy 7 brought me here, but you are the reason I stay. Shine on
REMEMBER THIS AIN'T THE END we're gonna relive all these emotions with FF7 REMAKE 2 and its gonna have open world too! I love you square and HAPPY FF7REMAKE EVE DAY EVERYONE
Max in 2020: "As long as time is still moving in a proper linear fashion..." We were all so naive in those days 🤣 but man crazy how close we are now to Rebirth, which everyone expected to take another decade. Lol.
@@MariusBoss11458 Personally, I feel like time has been doing weird loops and knots since 2016. But, yes, 2020 definitely marked the year when our timeline really started to fold in on itself like an origami crane. It's been harrowing.
@@MariusBoss11458 Heh, yeah... It's weird to look at video clips from the pre-covid era. Hearing people talk about how they can't wait for 2020 and all the good stuff it would bring. Seeing all those people huddled together in huge, happy crowds without a thought of either catching a virus that could kill them, or a single-minded obsession with "owning teh libs" coupled with the brainwashed conviction of covid being "just a mainstream media hoax"... **sigh** Rupert Murdoch and Fox need to lose this trial SO BADLY...
@@jacobbuchanan6076 I was watching live that day. Indeed he was playing that song and was talking about the game and then Kenny entered the chat and gave Max the news. The moment was just as we can see in this video.
Max’s excitement for final fantasy 7 remake is what got me into the original and boy oh boy it is surreal to think 4 years ago some guy on the internet screaming over this game has introduced me to an amazing game and community of people and I cannot thank max enough for that.
Max's videos got me into fighting games almost 10 years ago. When he got choked up talking about the team using his video for inspiration, I choked up too.
Destro Fraud I was really confused when I started to cry as well but realizing that your inspiration was inspired by you has to be the best feeling ever
God damn it I literally tear up every time when I hear you tell the story of meeting the developers not only because I can imagine how amazing it must've been to hear that, but also because it tells me that they really put so much love and care into making this game... which then became even more obvious when I actually played it. It honestly makes me angry when people talk about it just being a money grab because you have to be an idiot to not recognise the passion and love that went into making it.
Noobz4Hire I’m not interested in this game too, I have other games I want to look forward to, but I don’t want to get in the way of others who want to play it. If Max is happy, then I’m happy. If my friends are happy with it, then I am too, I wish them the best.
Same, I've been sitting on my twitch prime sub because i wanted to be able to watch and interact with chat while Max plays. I've never played the original and have no emotional connection to the series but there's just something magical about watching a grown ass man having his greatest dream realized
Simmons was right...5 freaking years, and is just the beginning of the story. And lets not pretend we always trusted Nomura, back in 2017 even Max was unsure about the game even existing.
This is so heartfelt. I’m not even a crazy big FF7 fan but just his dedication for the game and the fact he never gave up or just lost patience. He waited patiently and got what he wanted. Respect
I remember being in my college dorm watching Max accidentally having the video go live for that bad announcement for FF7 and its "upscale graphics" lol now in my 3rd year of my career job and a baby on the way its awesome to grow up and spend some good times with YoVideogames. Keep it up dudes!
Max had me BAWLING last year when he released his post E3 video where he told the story about the devs finding inspiration in his videos... But it was no surprise to me, because Max gives us all inspiration!!
Bawled like a baby watching this video. Such an emotional journey. The end of 2019 and now 2020 has been hell with having lost my mom to cancer. I can't describe just how much joy it's brought me to see this nostalgic game again 3 days before my mom's birthday. I'm so happy and excited.
This is gonna be an emotional experience for you, I'm sure of that, and I hope the memory of playing this remake will deepen the fondness for your lost loved one even more. God bless and my you cherish every moment of this life while we have it. I lost my mother to a severe case of angina, and super metroid is that game for me. It was the last game I gleefully got from her and I will forever cherish it. That game is tightly tied to her memory for as long as I live.
I'm sorry I won't be there for the first stream, as I'll be playing it myself, but I just want to say, as someone who has been following you and your content for the past 7 years, I've never been happier for you, and hope this 5 year long saga ends in joy. Happy to have been on this ride the entire way through.
Same dude, my older brother bought the digital a few days ago and as much as I really enjoy Max's unforgettable streams, I gotta play it with my brother.
Same..I just cannot bring myself to watch anyone else play until after I do. I might play in chunks and watch segments of recorded stream up to where I am as I go through the game just so I don't have to wait so long to watch some of your stream.
I seriously come back to this sometimes when I'm feeling down just to experience how happy Max is everytime some new info or trailer pops up, thanks for the compilation.
Never even played a FF game but been following since “PT” subbed over a year on twitch now, your passion is infectious and your community is one of the best. Your success is well garnered and couldn’t happen to a better person. Shine on dood, I pray one day I too can make my passion my livelihood. Thanks for everything Max.
@solaire of astora dude they DIDNT wanna do this they only did it because of fans begging them to do it why do you think it took so damn long get outta here before I pull that stick out of your ass
@@dragondaddykushala7133 I'm close to finishing Doom Eternal right now, I have classic FF7 purchased but decided I might as well wait and play remake. Just cause I feel like it's hard to get that same impact as others had way back in the day. Like me suggesting to a friend to play MGS1 cause it is "SO GOOD" but is definitely not the same to them some 20+ years later lol
I'm not even an OG gamer in the 90s, never even heard of FFVII before. But this man, Maximilian Dood, who i found solely through MvC Origins videos, made me excited and even emotional of FFVII. God bless you and your family, Max.
I re-watch this anytime I feel myself getting bad again with my depression and it is such an uplifting experience. I love you Max, don't ever stop shining on
Whenever I’m feeling low and dejected, I search out this video and watch it again. Never get tired of getting caught up in the wonder and amazement of Max’s journey 🥰 Truly uplifting!
FFS Max, you tearing up talking about the development team watching your reaction video always makes me tear up. I'm looking forward to seeing you play a game you've been waiting actual years for, its here Max. It's finally here! LET'S GO!
@@InfiniteClouds I don't want to delve into that discussion, l have heard so much about the semantics of the term "Remake" and both sides are going too hardcore at it. I liked what you said, found it funny, l'll leave it at that.
@Adam Thompson it's literally an alternate timeline that acknowledges that the original already happened "the first time around". The entire storyline is predicated on changing the destiny of the characters and world from their original timeline. That means the story doesn't exist without the original's - it's a sequel.
That story about the team looking at his videos for motivation is justice porn. It gives payoff to the bottomless passion that Maximilian Dood has for FF7 in the best possible way. It is literally manifesting greatness into existance by merely hoping and wishing for it.
Check nyxipuffs reaction her level of passion is just .. beyond she got absolutely blonwn away by ff7r after playing whole series , crisis core and kingdom hearts I’m even more hyped for max and nyxi reaction than for the game itself
Anytime I feel Rebirth is too far away, I watch this video and remind myself, it'll feel so good when we get to play it in about a month from now and how we've been waiting since 2005 for this to become a reality from what once was a dream when I was a young kid. Thanks Max!
Max has always been my go to comfort channel. Watching the purest reaction of him gives me the best goosebumps and brings out the childhood memory of myself playing FF7 for the first time. Thank you Max for the 100% purest OG gamer reaction ever.❤
God man I'm getting so emotion rn from this video we are getting rebirth in 19 days and counting it's crazy how far we've come man I cant wait to play man😭
That's how you know how down-to-Earth the devs were to show Max's reaction to the reveals and to say that his enthusiasm for the game gave the staff energy. It's a back-and-forth between game maker and player, a cycle of positivity and feedback. It's what videogames are supposed to make devs and players feel. I thoroughly enjoyed Max's reaction to not just the reveal and the game itself.
Time certainly does fly. I remember watching Max’s reaction to the official announcement live. I definitely shared the hype. What a crazy event! The main theme of FFVII over this video gives me chills. I can already tell this is a video I’m going to look back on fondly in the years to come.
These reactions were so me when I found out this was announced. My husband sent me the kotaku article covering e3 after the announcement and I was at work shouting in my office. This is my all time favorite game and part 1 of the remake did not disappoint.
honestly the whole time watching this i have a giant grin on my face. remembering all the great time with this game and the anticipation of the remake. I'm so stoked for this game. MAX thanks for being an awesome dood and keeping us up to date with everything. watching you get so excited made me love this channel more and more cause of your passion, honesty and hype for all the things you love. cant wait for you to play thru this game and i can literally be their with you experiencing twice.
Max’s journey and playthrough of the ff7 remake trilogy means more to me than my own and i even have remake in my 10 favourite games of all time. His genuine joy is just super infectious.
I started my rpg/jrpg journey in 87 with Phantasy star and have been hooked on those type of games ever since. When FF7 came out in 97 i thought i was going to have fun just like i did with countless rpgs that i played before that. I did more than just "have fun" i was floored, i was shocked, i was blown away, yes i was never quite the same after that. Sure i have played countless rpgs/jrpgs since then but no game and i mean no game has given me the same emotional ride like FF7. UNTIL i played the FF7 remake. Now if only they will finnish the rest of the story before i die...i just want to die happy.
This is the first vid I watched from Max ever since I played FF7R. Never played the original but loved it. This game made me passionate about gaming again. Played and finished countless games after FF7R like Bloodborne, (which has now made me a souls fan) KH, DMC, FF15 and tons of games in my backlog waiting to be played. Going to the play the original in the future but me discovering this channel has been the best thing so far this year. ❤️
My absolute favorite game ever. Got me through hard times as a kid when it was literally all I had to distract me from the unfortunate things happening around me. I'm in my 30's shedding nostalgia tears because of this video. Thank you for sharing your hype, and love with the rest of us.
Same dude... Sounds very similar to my experience. I keep checking my phone looking at the tracker waiting for it to arrive. I have no idea what I'm going to feel or react when I have it in my hands, but THIS game, THIS experience is SOOOOO much bigger than "video games".
Watching this literally less than 24 hours before Rebirth comes out. Man it sure has been one hell of a journey so far. I didn’t grow up playing FF7 but Max very quickly made it a big part of my life and I don’t regret a single moment going down this rabbit hole 🙂
So this has got to be one of the best FF7 related videos in existence. The emotions that this piece of work invokes is incredible. Love your channel Max, thanks for everything that you do.
I fucking cried! the passion around this game is just so beautiful and the little bit about the developers watching your vid to inspire them. I hope part 2 is amazing
That smile, that damn smile is so infectious I’m happy for a game to come out that he’s so excited to have a remake for. I never played FF7 but I know that look of pure joy and happiness that he had when about this game.
6:27 - And it worked man... I mean, I simply clicked on this video to get a pick-me-up from Max's reaction to the first ever announcement of the Remake. I always get goosebumps and it makes me smile so hard, it's like the same feeling you get surprising someone with a gift they've always wanted. Also, when everyone was shitting on the ending of FF7R (myself included) I awaited for Max's reaction to that on Twitch as he played the ending for the first time, I was waiting for him to join us with the misery of disappointment, but he ended up reacting to it so positively and his theories blew my mind so much, that it got me hyped and excited for it all over again! Made me realise it's ok to let go and just enjoy the Remake for what it is, rather than pick at every flaw of what's missing from the OG FF7 experience. Max's love, energy and enthusiasm for this entire project has been the cherry on top for the Remake experience. Thank you Max!
To know that your video was a motivation for the development team, to know that essentially Max was part of the making of FF7 remake, that's enough to make anyone emotional
