This is a video I had as a child that I loved so much that I ended up starting a career on this railroad

Took this trip, twice. In 1977 and in 1995. The mountains and the river will always be king here. The major difference I saw was the encroachment of wealth into the canyon, from both sides. You could still get the glimpse of yesteryear in the middle, but that middle is quickly being sold. This is a great tribute to that piece of mountain railway. Thanks for sharing!!!

Very true, it's incredible watching these old clips and comparing it to how it is today. It definitely gave off a more earnest feeling of remoteness. Durango is truly the metropolis of the San Juans more than it ever has been.
