My mom had this song memorized, she loved it so much. When I was a kid, I would often wake up in the morning to the sound of her playing this on the baby grand in the living room. George Winston was the soundtrack to my childhood. Now that my mom has been gone a few years, this brings back such wonderful memories of my time with her. Thank you, George! ❤️

George was one of the nicest guys I ever met and one of the funniest as well. I remember us being on tour together in Washington around 1979 and riding around in a taxi with me laughing hysterical listening to him talk about his obsession and love of ice cream. I will never forget it and I laughed until I cried. Now he has left this place but not the place in my heart. Take care George, I miss you. David Qualey

This is sad news. I saw him in concert a couple of times when I lived in Minneapolis. Being mesmerized by one guy sitting at a piano is an awe inspiring experience.

Do you remember? Does it resonate with you and bring up a warm memory of your connection as a baby with your parents? I was just going to suggest to my Auntie that she play this for her great-grandson who is turning one. Make the album December connected to her because I believe he will always remember their sweet bond when he is older and what better music than these compasitions that will transcend the ages throughout humanity? They must safeguard this prized treasure. George Winstons's gift connects with the very essence of my humanity and the love inside the tears of all my sorrows and out pour the tears of joy soon thereafter. This is human renewal in a bottle.

I remember being in the Virgin Islands with my two brothers. I had just experienced watching Paul Newman and Jackson Browne having a toss with a frisbee. I ventured down to this open restaurant in cinnamon bay. George Winston was playing his piano. He was practicing for a concert later that evening. From then on I was forever hooked.

Here's to hoping you didn't get sucked into the rat race. Every baby, toddler, child, adolescent, teen and adult would benefit from this powerful and otherworldly beautiful music. I feel our humanity in George Winston's December especially. It s so deeply soulful and takes me into the center of love and joy. Love heals the brokenhearted and i know music is our universal language that proves our connectedness.

Josh SAME. My dad showed me the album December and introduced me to all of Winston's work and I LOVE it. I remember listening to this song for hours at home throughout the years, and it STILL touches me the very same to this day. George Winston is a gift to us all.

This album saved me from myself more than once . I'm from an age before all thus instant listening. I had December on cassette and then CD. The songs the piano the artistry that woke my soul the 1st time saved my soul many times. We lost a true artist today. I hope he realized how much love he spread. ❤

It actually is a remake of a remake. The one that invented this happier version of Bach's composition: Jesus joy of man's desiring was David Qualey. Here's the original remake that Winston borrowed to rearrange it for piano with a couple of own ideas that he added: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pEemo9i-sCI.html The first honour belongs to Bach, the second to David Qualey and the third to George Winston.

Just listened to an imitation of G.W.... it was missing the present grace in the fingers.... "Bach Joy of Man's Desires".... 400 years later echos well through George's hands.
