I work with people like this. All the characteristics you mentioned about being controlling, are the people that I work with. It has been a long and very difficult fight trying to break free from these people. When your job takes the place of God in your life should be the next topic of conversation. When you have conversations with other people in your field of work they don't describe their work environment as you do. Another great quote referenced by Nicole C Mullen “ I cannot be God or the Holy Spirit in someone’s life nor be God for them”. (We can’t fix the people surrounding us we cannot be everyone’ s messiah …people have free will). I love the statement by Natalie Grant which says “my husband doesn’t tear me down, he gives me constructive criticism”. Thank you for sharing. And pondering the difference between someone controlling someone and tearing them down, and also constructive criticism (2 different phenomena). Also thinking about the years of healing that needs to take place that Jesus desires to happen faster for me (Joel 2:25 AND Ephesians 3:20 ) to back this up. Years of abuse can be healed in months with the healing power of our Lord and savior. Amen. Thank you for sharing a great episode. I also love when Joyce says that when you stand up for yourself, people will respect you and I believe a lot of people (including me) lack the skills of confrontation. The Bible says to “say the truth in love” and prayer truly helps me and everyone’s character flaws be molded and manifested into growth from glory to glory. Peace + shalom happy Easter:)!

My my my Mama Joyce everytime I listen to her I get goosebumps I mean just listening to her story the abuse my it's terrible thing she'd had in the past but I am more amazed how she made her decision and turned around the bad to good and being a voice of courage and strength to many sexual abuse victims and helping millions around the world !

Absolutely go to them directly and try to talk privately, but if they hide and avoid the situation, BLAST THEM. When they are controlling your decisions, you have to.

So the lord will restore me wholly one day and wipe away all the tears from my childhood and broken relationships ?Cause when i see these women i have hope 🙏

God expects us to stand up/against to things that aren’t right. I pray for women listening to this that find themselves in an unhealthy relationship to take that in. You are right to stand up/against to things that are not right! Take in that freedom today! God is for you and with you ❤️❤️❤️

Just around 15:00 is what I am breaking away from. I confronted and was made to apologize. When I apologized I was shamed then told I was forgiven. I carried it all day yesterday. 😢 God is giving me peace.

This was so good and God's timing IS impeccable! It's something how you can notice others when they're in a controlling environment but not you yourself. Many make excuses for the abuse. I'll have to share this one for sure!

Also, reminding myself that the iniquities or sins of my forefathers (the things I witnessed growing up that are generational flaws) can be altered with my generation (through the blood of the lamb). When we take ownership amazing things can happen and generational curses can be turned to generational blessings for any one eager to submit to Gods will for their lives. Amen. When you tell somebody to knock it off and they don't listen, the next healthy step is enforce your boundaries.

I used to have that book boundaries that lady in my Bible study gave me in 2014. I was attending Joy of Living Bible study at Second Baptist West Campus in Katy,Texas. I have a son that is an abuser. He tried to tell me Saturday that when I deal with him that I think of his dad who us d to abuse me in 1987. This isn't true. God has healed me from that years ago. My son us d that everytime I confront him about his abusive ( psychological& mental abuse). He has been in trouble all of his life & second time on probation for abuse with my fav of his girlfriends I loved that young lady and we celebrated our birthdays together back in 2016. Now he has another girlfriend whose birthday was August 14. We were trying to go to movies but he manipulated situation & now we aren't even talking. We all went out for Mother's Day. They took me shopping & we went out to eat. He is crazy. I thought we could do same thing for my birthday( August 11th& Kelly's). I was giving her advice on how to keep herself safe when dealing with him. He tried to lay a guilt trip on me Saturday while on phone. He says that I am trying to make Kelly think he is her enemy. She is used to abusive relationships. He says that they have made a " pact" with her. His controlling is demonic and I know that men can have a jezebel spirit. I learned this from a male pastor. I have to once again stay away from my son. I confronted my son before & he did get angry when we lived together in 2017-2018. He pushed me down. I had to anoint place with oil,he moved out& ended up going to jail after getting into it with Jessica. Second time he was& still is on probation. I went a year without speaking to him& my youngest son& I mov d to a different town. My abusive son had no car& I was free from him. Now in 2022, I need to not communicate with him or Kelly.

This was so on time for me!!! I'm so grateful for Better Together!!

In Jesuses name I humble and ask and pray that he helps me stand up,gain control of my life,and protect myself by getting respect in that people don't just use me step on me,run me over,and please help me some how do it without hurting someone else to protect myself.Help me with a way that teaches or you h others in away that doesn't just protects me,but actually helps the situation.I pray in love and agood deserve for better life and living not just for myself but other to cause for things to be better for only me.I learned is not the right answer and still has a whole and isn't fixed or really better.Please and thank you.Amen.

If I confront it he just calls the cops..... He threatens to call a cops if I touch his car. If I shut a door too hard. If I get water on the linoleum unloading the dishwasher.
