Joyce Meyer Thoughts on Tattoos 

This is all I can say to all believers who follow Christ: Try To Stand Out Don't Try To Fit In. Let your personal relationship with Christ convict you to do what is pleasing to God. God Bless You, All.

The Church is to “stand out” in the world, not “fit in”.

I have 4 tattoos and after i got saved i will not put anymore on my body. That's just my choice and beliefs

Many have found a new way but I love the old. When I fell in love with Jesus, I didn't want to look or act like the world. I wanted to be a light to the world. I'm so thankful for an old preacher man that preached Holy Ghost conviction down on me and I had that born again experience 🙌. There are many false teachers and deceivers that have gone out into the world. Seek God for yourself and he will teach you how to live.

People need to have that personal relationship with God and that will cut down all of this confusion

Y'all realize that by us debating on tattoos and such that it's just the enemy's way of distracting us from the true glory of God. Focus on that and reaching out to the people that need it most. Don't worry about the outward appearance and focus on their soul. This is eternity we're talking about people get with the program.

God looks at your heart, and your intentions and reasons for getting your tattoos and piercings, not the tattoos/piercing themselves. Like she said, serving God it's not boring, it's fun, and I think God gets a kick out of the individualism of all his children ☺️

been in trouble for almost 6 years, been through addiction, homelessness, hopelessness and even suicide.... im still here today, anyone who thinks they cant handle no more...take hold of the rope and have faith in the lord, you will come out on top and it will all make sense in the end. may God be with us all in the mighty name of Jesus Amen!!!!!!!!!!

I don't need a tattoo to show people that I belong to Jesus----my love for others does that.

My son has lots of tattoos and he's a man of God, he loves Jesus deeply and truly.

I love Joyce Meyer but I can't stand tattoos. They desecrate the body like graffiti on a beautiful building. I believe God spoke out against it in the Old Testament.

What i find most interesting, is that i have 9 tattoos.. and was recently saved. Yet religious people will still judge and make comments when judging thy neighbor is a sin in the bible.

Joyce will always have a special place in my heart because she’s been there for me going through difficult times.God bless her ministry.

almost 3 years ago, at almost 22 years old i almost took my own life. I was abused as a kid, broken, depressed, anorexic, bulimic, suicidal. I went in & out of psych units like it was a game of Chess. Suicide watch. I was on enough Antidepressants to kill a horse. I hated myself. I wanted out. I wanted the pain to stop. The gaslighting* to end. *(when a psycho makes a sane person question their own sanity, and thus think they themselves are the insane one). I wanted power. I got into witchcraft. I thought it would give me the identity i wanted, to be set apart from people who hurt me. It only made me sicker. Sicker. Thats what it did to me. The doctors said i’dnever get well. That i would suffer severe Chronic Manic depression, and never be well, that id be stuck on antidepressants all of my life. I would plot suicide on a daily basis, binging and purging my food as often as opening and closing a door. The pain was too real. People choked me. Assaulted me. Told me i was ugly, i felt worthless. Nothing ever got better. Then my mother died. The (1) & only soul who ever loved /emotionally supported me was removed from the earth. I was stuck living with people who broke me, ruined my identity, thus causing me to hate God. I thought God hated me, that he was just like the ones who tortured me, a family of abusers, who cover up all their actions with the mask of religion. I didnt know that God is on my side. I didnt know that Jesus would Love and Defend me, and fight for me and that He later would heal me, rescue me from Family. The ones who caused me pain. The ones who choked me for wearing a necklace. I moved out after family threatened to throw all my belongings on the front yard, and have me permanently institutionalized in an insane asylum, when they were the ones who caused my mental illness via abuse. They blamed me for the abuse they did to me. To take my life in an insane asylum when they were the ones who made me suicidal. Next morning i spoke with my dead moms parents who let me live with them. I stayed on the antidepressants, prescribed. But they only made me sicker. I got deeper and deeper into witchcraft, thinking it was a solution. But it made me even more suicidal. Self hatred was inescapable. All my cards have fallen down. I have nothing left. But out. I wanted out. I decided i was going to kill myself. I was going to take all my pills. But then Jesus stepped in. I didnt die. I surrendered my life to Jesus to make me well and heal me. The deity i blamed for me being abused wanted to heal me. He Was fighting for me and Loved me all along. He wanted to love me. He wanted to give me His Heart. HE LOVES ME. JESUS. LOVES. ME . Jesus miraculously healed me - i am off all drugs and dont need them and i dont have any mental illnesses. I have a job and am totally healed , full of joy. I’m now a born again Christian, in my 20’s who wants the entire world to know that JESUS WANTS TO HEAL YOU HE. LOVES. YOU.

We are not suppose to fit into this world .bible says we are set apart from darkness ....

Whenever people ask me why I don't have any tattoos I say to them, "Would you put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari?"😂😂😂👍👍👍no thanks, I'm fearfully and wonderfully made.

Personally… I have a tattoo… And I regret it and will get it removed. The body is the Temple of God. And for me personally it was a huge mistake.

In my Bible Leviticus 19:28 says “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.” I love Joyce but she did not finish reading that scripture. Even if Jesus and God have tattoos, God has commanded us not to get them. But I understand also that the church should not judge people who do. Bottom line, Jesus wouldn’t have treated someone with a tattoo any different than someone without one, and we are to be Christ like!

1:35 - it is actually Leviticus 19:28 in case anyone was looking for the verse and got lost.

What is she talking about at 1:59?! This is not what the Bible says read this properly! I obviously had to go double check after a statement like that “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬ If you read the whole chapter and in the context of this verse, it is much more complex than Joyce is interpreting it as. I believe it is more of a metaphorical meaning than what Joyce states it as. Maybe I’m wrong?

If your body is a temple.. shouldn’t it glorify God and not yourself? She starts off by listing smoking and drinking. Doesn’t smoking ruin your lungs as drinking does your liver. Things we do as Christians shouldn’t be of the flesh but of the Holy Spirit. I personally don’t NEED a tattoo to prove my faith or pronounce. If Joyce wants to show off her tattoo as she stated is that of the flesh?

So those that think she is wrong, what about those that have tattoos before being saved? They are not worthy because of them? How many of you saying she is wrong wear earrings or makeup? I have earrings and several tattoos! And I LOVE the Lord and will walk with him! Best not to judge and just love! 💙💙

Anything to get me excited for the Lord is fine with me. I take what I need from the message and leave the rest alone. I've been the happiest I've been in the last few weeks, than I've been in the last several years, because I've been listening to sermons.

These are the things which matter to God. And Joyce teaches constantly about all of these things.

I was in a very judgmental church growing up and looked down on if my dress showed a little of my knees. This made me dislike going, I found a wonderful church that is great, if women want to wear pants it is ok. I want to be the same christian in or outside of church Love the message

This is the one and only time that I have ever disagreed with a teaching from Pastor/Teacher Joyce Meyer. No love lost at all. The correct scripture is: “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:28 NLT It's only the cuttings that specifies "for the dead." However, the Scripture (inspired by God Almighty) states do not mark your skin with tattoos. At the end of the verse God says, "I am the Lord." He's saying that He doesn't approve of tattoos at all. Can this verse/subject be revisited?

I remember when “should women wear head coverings?” Was all the rage. I asked a friend about it. She said “I know too many people with real problems, they don’t have time to sit around and argue about that wether or not to wear a hat.”

the Bible also says that whatever things that stumble brothers and sisters we should not doing them even these things are not wrong, you don't need to have a tattoo in order to show you are not legalistic, its not what the Bible or Jesus teaches, in my opinion.

Please remember that Christ did not come to abolish the law. The new covenant does not delete the old covenant. It is by the law that we are shown how grateful we are to be for grace. Paul teaches us not to abuse grace in a means to justify sin. However, you are a new creation and the things of the world should not hold any attraction to you.

When Christ lives in us, only his works(heavenly) are portrayed out. If anything of this world will influence in us, then it will manifest in worldly pleasures such as these, which will finally end in sin(doesnt matter how strong we are spiritually) it just portrays that we are of this world(devil).

It is in Leviticus 19:28 not 20:28, and it doesn't say "for the dead" about the tattoo part; only the cutting part says "for the dead." Leviticus 19:28 "You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves; I am the Lord."

I have a tattoo that says Saved by Grace through Faith Ephesians 2:8 It shows not only who I am but Whose I am.

There is no Leviticus 20:28! You’ve misquoted Leviticus 19:28! Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:28 - KJV He says simply not to print ANY marks upon you and then cites his authority, “I am the LORD.” If you challenge his laws then you’re challenging his authority and the Almighty himself. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31 - KJV

No beautiful clothes, jewellery, tattoos can make me happy But the love of Christ. The people who are worldly may find mortal happiness that way. Find happiness that is eternal. Love God & all his commandments.

I love Joyce I got her books and listen to her sermon. But this one I don’t agree once your in the words the Holy Spirit will guide and lead you. I have tattoos way before I become a believer I fought not getting more. Just because I wanted to honor my body and not mark it. Our temple is a place or worship it’s shall be pure. We not perfect but God word should be able to renew and transform you and convict you. Just because it’s not in the New Testament and Jesus die for our sins doesn’t mean we should do as we please. That’s why it’s best to let the Bible minister to us with the help of the Holy Spirit and not the world.

God speaks on principal here. They are general truths that we need to take seriously. They should not be a blending of anything and our lives not surrounded by vanity and Me myself and I mentality

There is no verse 28 in Leviticus 20! It's 19:28!

Thank you thank you Joyce. Love this message! I got a very large piece accross my shoulder blades of an Angel taking a baby up with them. I lost a baby 3 and a half years ago. This was my was of dealing with my feelings of the loss, knowing the Lord has that baby.

As a teacher you just have to be accurate. To the glory of God.
