When I typed this it was my first time listening and my brain corrected it to turn down 50 mil and be like Dave Chapelle. Where he went on to be extremely successful while having full power and control of who he is and wants to be. after I replayed it I realized he said "or be Dave Chapelle", which I agree makes no sense because it is true. It could be a mistake or it could have a deeper meaning. I see it as by Dave Chappelle being Dave Chappelle and making the decisions he made and walking away from that show is how he has 50 million today. That deal that he walked away from was just a contract, an idea of what could be. Maybe if he stayed with the show the outcome would have taken him down a path of regret, mistakes and a downfall that would have compromised his principles or his morals or taken his life before he got to that dangling carrot payday. He was Dave Chappelle and now he has 50 million for sure but if he would have gone the other direction, who knows?
