Sounds pretty good. One thing I don't get: on a large pedal like this, why on earth do they put the jacks for signal and power on the sides? Is it not taking up enough space on the pedalboard already?
Man I was seriously considering buying a bunch off Aliexpress and putting them in a new box with some hipster botique name on it and sell them for 8 times the price lololol
Shane, do a quick research on flanger controls and you'll understand the knobs better. Delay time is also known as manual on some flangers and regen is not exactly a mix control, It's more like feedback. Some sounds work well with regen at minimum.
The controls make sense if you understand how the circuit creates the effect. It's based on very short delay times that are modulated. The "regen" is short for regeneration. That controls how much of the original signal is fed back into the circuit. And the Width knob controls how much the circuit modulates the delay time.
terrific demo!!! Some reviewers yak for 10 minutes, then race through equipment features with no direction or structure. You were to the point, and demonstrated the pedal in a rational manner! EXCELLENT WORK, my friend, and it is tremendously appreciated. (Thanks from Missouri, USA)
I was looking around for a lower priced flager pedal. I looked at a few, including the Mooer, the Donner, the Dano Hash Browns and a few others. This review convinced me to get the Joyo Classic Flanger, and I absolutely love it. Thanks!
If I am right, the main difference between chorus and flanger is the delay time between the pitch shifted waves. Hence the reason the Delay Time makes it sound, when all the way to the left thus a shorter delay time, like a chorus... and when all the way to the right, to that classic flanger.
*regen/feedback adds swooshiness/doppler effect/jet plane sound. *delay/manual changes delay offset/centrepoint which "tunes" the tone so the Swoosh happens at higher or lower frequencies. Most noticeable at low depth high regen. Has no function when depth is maxed out. *width/depth is the amount the delay/wet pitch is varied around centrepoint set by manual. *rate/speed is the speed at which the LFO oscillates varying the delay and therefore the pitch of the wet signal. Hope this helps.
I like your presentation style. You cover a lot of ground, really showcasing what the pedal is capable of, yet you keep things succinct and the pace rolling. It really makes me want to buy one of these pedals! By the way, I believe the reason the knob is called "delay time" is because it adjusts the amount of time between the dry signal and the effected "flanged" signal. I think the further apart the time is, the more metallic the sound becomes and the more high end cuts through. The closer the time is between the signals, the warmer and more subtle the effect is. I could be wrong but this is my understanding of how flanging works and would explain the label on the knob.
cs guitars just did a great video with tc electronics explaining how chorus, phaser and flanger work and how they are different....also explains why changing the delay time sounds like a change in frequency
Weird world. pedal sounds just as good as the mxr 117r. Same tonality. And sit is cheap. i would change the original knobs for some boss knobs. i like them and erase somehow that design , that jet and the letters below are hideous.
your an idiot! period. and I'm a guy who never ever is the type to flat out talk with latent disrespect for a dumb opinion. for one, a pictured jet says it all about this pedal. the artwork well-done. two, what idiot would take advantage of such a great cost effective quality pedal and modify it with different knobs? you sir are a price of work. I suspect your the type who has a 200 dollar car with 2000 dollar rims on it. I nailed you didn't I?
@@50Something Canus testiculares, or 'the dogs bollocks' is indeed a declaration of utmost regard for something. Used colloquially in both the UK, and Australia. The expression 'the duck's guts' is the more polite version of the colloquialism.
Based on your video, I decided to purchase this pedal. I, as well as a friend, who I consider a pedal aficionado, are both quite pleased and imrpessed with this pedal. It's an incredible value.
Ury B-side what a trip. I've used nothing but American made pedals and always had a fear of anything Chinese. looking to start using some of these Joyo's. I'm impressed.
Colorado officials lie about weather too - "Dry heat, more sunny days than San Diego", in reality it rains a LOT in the summer, and if you aren't rich, you will be forced to sleep outside.
