Yeah, although it might sound a bit 'too full' depending on the lead sound you envisage. If you wanna add some pedals, to make your country playing more fun, you could also try adding a delay, compression and/or tremolo.

Thanks for the question. Tone starts in the ears! You'll always set your EQ to match what you think is good. I prefer a full warm tone so I always EQ my amp and any pedals accordingly. The killer to any warm tone is the Mids. That's the 'magic' knob that controls a lot of the tone. Too little, you get lost in the mix. Too much Middle on any amp will produce a harsh brittle tone. +Jim R agreed. Bought it fairly recently. With the drive most of the way up, while keeping the focus knob a little counter-clockwise of 9 o'clock, I can add some smooth light overdrive without cutting bass or adding treble to my tele's natural tone. I just hope that footswitch doesn't break.

Cheers Jim! The guitar is completely stock. This Gibson Les Paul Standard Double Cut has a nice friendly mid-range and is not overpowering.

Anything with PAF in it's name and not overwound, hot or similar would do. I like DiMarzio Air Classic or Classic PAF. Trick with humbuckers is to not set them close to strings. but to find sweet spot. They will never sound like single coils (no SRV or Knopfler tone) whatever You get. First try lowering those You already have.
