GREAT VID., I was on the JOYTUTUS SUV TENT site on AMAZON and I came across your video, with your cool dog ( I have a Labradoodle), putting up your hatchback tent, so I switched over to RU-vid in an attempt to find you because I had a question for you. I have been trying to find a tent like this one and although there are a few out there I especially like this one. You did a great job on this video, it's a good one... My question though is this,,, I have a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 and I'm trying to find a truck or SUV tent that I really like, and this is it!!! Now the big question for you is do you think there is any possibility that it will fit my Ram 1500 with just a few minor modifications??? I realize it's not designed for my truck but, in your opinion, do you think I might be able to pull it off, I'm pretty handy? Thanks, will be looking forward to your response.
I would say no, I had a 2001, 2012 and 2016 Ram 1500 as well as a 1994 Dakota and I would probably put rails across the bed and put a Rooftop Tent on it or this company does sell a truckbed tent amzn.to/3XcJhKM is the amazon link. A simple rail system that you could build yourself fast would work for a Ram and be easier to remove if need be and still be able to use the truck bed. I would worry about putting a tent like this on not properly fitted scratching and swirling my paint from fabric rubbing when the wind blows on it while camping. Bunch of routes you could go, buy a cheap lightweight/plated harbor frieight trailer and use it for a Roof Top Tent plateform and a little bit of storage and probably only weigh a few hundred pounds max and tow like its not there. I would not put it on my old trucks personally.
I’ll be heading cross country with my pup. It was a toss up between my hatch back tent or my pop up, yeah I’m going with my Joy lol Thanks for the encouragement with the set up lol. Happy camping
Really helpful video as I am considering buying this tent for my Crosstrek. My major concern is difficulty of set-up as I have a low tolerance for frustration...lol. On other videos experienced men literally could not get it put up. Any tips for solo set-up?
I put it myself without issue, but I also practiced putting it up at home prior to actually taking it camping and trying to do it the first in the wilderness.
