Scaring the Hoes (stylized in all caps; also known as Scaring the Hoes, Vol. 1) is a collaborative studio album by American rappers JPEGMafia and Danny Brown. It was released on March 24, 2023. The album had been teased for a year leading up to the release of its first single "Lean Beef Patty" on March 13, with the album's title being announced the same day.[3] On March 21, the title track from the album was released as a single.[4][5]
Daniel Dewan Sewell (born March 16, 1981), better known as Danny Brown, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was described by MTV in 2011 as "one of rap's most unique figures in recent memory".[1]
After amassing several mixtapes, Brown released his first studio album, The Hybrid (2010). He began to gain major recognition after the release of his second studio album, XXX (2011), which received critical acclaim and led him to be named "Artist of the Year" by Spin and the Metro Times.[2] His third studio album, Old (2013), reached No. 18 on the US Billboard 200 chart and spawned the singles "Dip", "25 Bucks", and "Smokin & Drinkin". The latter peaked at No. 31 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart. His fourth studio album, Atrocity Exhibition (2016), and his fifth studio album, uknowhatimsayin¿ (2019), both received critical acclaim.
Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks[3][4] (born October 22, 1989), known professionally as JPEGMAFIA (stylized in all caps), is an American rapper, singer, and record producer from Brooklyn, New York. His 2018 album Veteran, released through Deathbomb Arc, received widespread critical acclaim and was featured on many year-end lists. It was followed by 2019's All My Heroes Are Cornballs and 2021's LP!, released to further critical acclaim.
