I was at this show! He was incredible! Got to meet him and have a picture with him! Such a gentleman…again saw him there in 2018 I believe..he is a treasure! ❤️😎😁
It's a fool's errand to compare someone in his prime to that same person 30 years later. Taken in a vacuum, this performance is magnificent! Junior's picking and playing are amazing. Enjoy what you have for what it is now, not what you want it to be or what it used to be.
This sounds really good! I saw Junior Brown in Phoenix Arizona just two nights ago and he was really great! Same band except for the bass player who was on electric.
Found Junior looking for Hot Rod Lincoln. My God, How come I never heard of him? I have a friend who dj's an indie station's country and bluegrass show, who really got me hooked. With a week of heavy rain here in central va, and cooped up inside,I have watched everything I can find online of this man. He is amazing.
Even better in person. I stumbled on Jr Brown much like yourself, and made a point to see him . Check his tour dates and mark your calendar....u wont be disappointed.
Was lucky enough to happen upon Jr. and his great band back in 2004 at Bumbershoot in Seattle , I was checking out my VHS of that event this morning and went to his website to see where he was at these days! So great he and his killer rythmn playing wife are still active!
If that was his only Bumbershoot show, I was there! I went to Bumbershoot just to see him. I’ve been a fan since his Guit With It album release! Fortunately I stumbled across an album review in a magazine and checked him out.
I *HEARD* that truck horn Junior. Truckers love you Junior, and I love you so much. Thanks for thinking about us truckers. We love you Junior, more, much more, than you imagine. We love you Junior
Was at this show and nearly every show when he comes to KC since 1993. He has started to hate the the train that goes by the saloon more and more each year :) Headed to SC and Virginia after Labor Day to catch he and Tanya Rae along with Old Crow Medicine Show. Fricking wanted this double bill for YEARS!
Absolutely amazing how he goes from good ol honky tonk, to down and dirty blues at 1:16. Can anyone else do that? I don't think so. My hat is off to Junior Brown!!
Then he does surf music and hard rock just as well. Why isn't he better known? I only discovered him on You Tube this week and I became a fan. Better than 95% of the crap out there and as good or better than the other 5%. Plus he has a sense of humor!!
Next to Django Reinhardt and Peter Green Jr. Brown is one of the most under-known and appreciated guitar players of the last century. And I say that to honor Peter and Jr. to put them up with Django.
He came back December 9th, good to see them play. Tanya Ras has a great voice. Junior is Junior, what hasn't been said for his skill? Great drum solo was thrown in too.
Fair to say, it takes him a few songs to find his groove. Saw him in 04 prince of wales hotel St Kilda Australia. Shared a urinal with him in between sets. We do a heap of his song's
so... across the great state of Oklahoma I am related to a whole passel of Browns.... like every other door in some towns... busy Browns;;☆》... now ... if I ever grow up I want to play guitar like uncle Junior...
Brown is a genius, can you imagine anyone else doing this material. Perhaps Chuck Berry could join the band for a bit of a session, howza bout that then.
I've seen JB a bunch of times, my band opened for him when he was town. I've watched every single thing on YT, this was definitely an off night. He still kicks ass regardless, but it's like he has the flu, and his riffs are crazy slow on this show. Everybody has an off night, I'll give him a mulligan on this one.
I hope junior comes to chicago this year 2018 never seen junior live other than here on RU-vid would love to see him at buddy guys place downtown I think buddy guy and junior could do a great jam together or not. Both are great guitarists playing a long time buddy a while longer he is almost 80 I think and junior is no spring chicken either buddy is primarily blues and junior is mostly country a country Hendrix who can play the blues no doubt ala Albert king style
