So many great games I’d love to forget ….Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy..IV, VI, VII, Suikoden, LiveALive, Triangle Strategy, Final Famtasy Tactcs, Chrono Cross, Brave Fencer Musashi, Quest 64 (haha!)😅, Secret of Evermore! So many great titles! Great video Erek! - Ryan
Brave Fencer Musashi. I’ve played that game too many times. I’d love to be challenged again if I could play it again for the first time. And those graphics and soundtrack were so beautiful and unique. Even now I still enjoy listening to its incredible soundtrack. And Megaman Legends. That game’s graphics is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen back then. And I absolutely love Kattelox Island! I want to see it again for the first time. I love how detailed its areas were. That’s probably the reason why I don’t find its sequel as impactful. There were different smaller islands which are not as detailed. Plus this game was memorable to me because it was the time when my PS1 started to malfunction. The game would randomly hang whenever I pass between doors. Sometimes it would take time to load and sometimes it would completely stop. It was so annoying! Lol. It was the lens that needed to be replaced. I was 11 y/o then and I had to save money just to buy a new lens. It was so sad when our PS1 stopped functioning completely. It took less than a year. And when I did successfully, I did all I can to finish it. Good thing my save file from the Memory card was still there for me to continue from where I left. Such a magical feeling back then. Lol. This game was just so beloved to me. It was even better when I found out it had a sequel and I got to play it. Those were the days!
@@Jed-Rix Brave Fencer was so good back in the day. Open world type of experience more so than most games at the time. And the day and night cycle was new. I’d love a remaster! I’d play it in a heartbeat 💓
Final Fantasy 7-10. I was obsessed with these games in high school, and I would love to relive the feeling of playing them for the first time again. The other one that comes to mind is The Legend of Dragoon. Legend of Dragoon was the first rpg game that I beat when I was like 8 or 9.
I’m actually in middle of re-playing FFX as thankfully (?) after 20 years, I’ve forgotten enough (aside from emotional total devastation) to consider it ‘forgotten’. :)
FFX and Xenoblade 3 for me. I've played a ton of rpgs since the 90's, and I can definitely say for me that it's those 2 that made me FEEL so much. I have my favorites for sure, and FFX and XBC3 are on that list, but these two just hit all the perfect notes for me above the rest.
FF6 - no game has introduced me to so many elements of a great storyline and what JRPG genre was. The excited feeling of jumping into the unknown, the characters we meet, the care and time to grind them to Leven 99 and we all just band together to whoop Keka's tower to get to that storyline ending. As a teenager, I just couldn't get enough of that ending. The music, the escape and the tension of whether they'll all make it out alive. Ending credit roll was even worth watching. No game made me feel as satisfied. Xenosaga Episode 1 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are second place for me! Gripping storyline for me start to finish! Both titles had emotional moments I adored. Yeah, IYKNTYK indeed.
Great moments!!!! FF6 for sure is one of those amazing finishes that's well worth investing the time into just to beat everyone in 5 seconds. So good!!
Misleading title, lol. I was thinking this was going to be a "bad game" video, but happy with the outcome. FF7 is the reason I play JRPGs. It changed my childhood. You got a subsriber.
I wish I could forget Tunic, Alundra, Elden Ring, Tears of the Kingdom, CrossCode, Chained Echoes, Chrono Trigger, Star Ocean 3 and many more. Awesome video, Erek. I love topics like that.
Haha ah man, I used to watch those types of videos like FFX, but with Kingdom Hearts. I remember putting the Kingdom Hearts 2 trailer with Haunted from Evanescence on my PSP and watching it over and over again. Great video, again!
Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil, all these games were remarkable experiences for me, and I would love to play them for the first time again…
What a wonderful topic!!! Really like this! It's funny, Earthbound is my favourite game of all time, but I don't wish I could forget it because experiencing it now wouldn't be the same. I have so many nostalgic memories with it at my Grandma's house as a kid so since I could never get THAT back again, I'll keep it the way it is. Maybe some other games I would like to forget though!
Not a JRPG but going into Zelda TotK I wish I could have forgot my experience with BotW. I went into BotW blind and had no idea what kinda of game I was getting into and the learning and discovery was so fun.
Definitely agree on the rebirth topic. Prob one of the best videogame experiences I've had in the last couple years by far! Also ffx still my fav FF so re experiencing it again going through the emotional crisis once more. I'd pay for it. Another pick for me would def be nier automata. Just like you mentioned with xenogears, nier automata changes the way you see and feel things and even 7 years after release I almost think about the story on a daily basis. NieR automata is just so different compared to everything else I've ever played
My only game would be FF7, but since that game literally raised me, I can’t ever want to forget it. It and the memories are so central to my life and who I am as a person, that even the thrill of experiencing it fresh again can’t equal those 25 years.
This topic has been on my "Video to do list" for about three years now, maybe thus is the nudge I need to get it done 😂 Oh, and I've never played Earthbound 😮
Definitely would love to forget the entirety of the kingdom hearts series and re-live that. Especially kingdom hearts 2. That game was such a mystery when I went from 1 to 2 without playing chain of memories or 358/2 days. And you know chrono trigger will be a top for me to want to re-live for the first time again. Or playing sea of stars second over chrono trigger to see if I would have been really engulfed in the game the same way after knowing how similar they are. Great video and topic!
Oohh you good looking 🐻 These are some Hella tasty games! I'm still yet to play all the Xeno games! Agreed on rebirth is incredible and a game that I already wanna replay it again!!
Grandia II and I, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy IX, Nier: Automata, Dragon Quest VIII, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (especially Torna), side note: Breath of the Wild.
What a great concept for a video! My friends and I talk about this all the time with our favorite albums, but it's fun to think about with games. I think, for me, I'd want to re-experience games that have big, shocking twists in them, not necessarily my favorite game ever (FFVI), which I actually appreciate more with each playthrough. The two games that come to mind for me are Suikoden V and Undertale. Both of these games gave me some pretty big feelings, and I was weeping uncontrollably during the final boss of the true pacifist ending of Undertale.
Nice choices!!! I played and finished Undertale, but didn't do the pacifist run. I checked out all the different endings and they're super unique. What a game!! Still haven't played a Suikoden game though, eagerly awaiting those HD remasters of 1 & 2!
What is great for me is I did kind of got to have that experience. First time I ever played final fantasy 9. I played it in Spanish as a mate of mine got it on holiday in Spain. I don't understand a word of Spanish so I had no idea of the story or the characters english names ( i gave them all nicknames for example i called Freya, Carlos as i had no idea she was female). I just enjoyed the gameplay and aesthetics. So about a year later when I got the game in English, I got to experience the story and the characters for the first time again. And it felt like playing a new game but with characters that I'd already grown to love in my own head. And the good thing about final fantasy 9 is the characters and story were better than I built them up to be.
I definitely wish I could re-experience Xenoblade 3 just like you, but also Breath of the Wild. There’s nothing in this world like exploring a new land for the first time
this is one of the reasons I’m glad I’m dumb. I usually forget most games after a few years so replaying “retro” games often feels like it’s the first time I’m ever playing them
Definitely a game that blew me away. Once I realized there was more to do after the "ending".. wow. So good! I ended up putting 80 hours into that game.
I had a similar experience with Xenogears, but on release. It has many flaws, but it was the right game at the right time in my life and remains my greatest gaming experience. Rebirth, I'm just playing now up to chapter 9 ending and it's pretty good. I haven't gotten any real spoilers fortunately. FFX, remains the worst FF that I've personally played.
You ONLY put 32 hours into rebirth?????? Wtf???? That is absolutely pathetic, you must have skipped so much and done none of the side content that is awful as an FF fan. Im on chapter 9 with 60 hours in the game!!!!
@@BowmansWorld I mean the side content gets super repetitive. Rebirth has a lot of that Ubisoft bloat. At first it’s endearing but it’s the same type of things in an empty open world. The luster def is gone after awhile. At 75 hours, I’m content with finishing the main game and never touching the rest of the content again haha. But to each their own.
Wow. I did story only because I didn’t want it spoiled THEN put in 40 more hours to explore the side content like the Gilgamesh side story and Queens blood story as well as everything else that Chadley offers. Still pathetic?
All goated games great picks. Personally, I tend to enjoy things more and more as I re-watch or replay them, I have the full context of the story and so I'm able to appreciate how the themes and character arcs develop from the very beginning. To me, the excitement of a first experience is... well, that. Excitement. But it's on repeats that I REALLY get to appreciate and truly understand how well constructed these stories are.
