been that way since his early years...I remember watching Kyrie and Curry embarrass guys early...but when Jrue guarded them he had them taking steps backwards and calling for more picks...Injuries and obscurity in NO stole some of his glory, but not his money, so we'll see this year.

This dudes awareness is insane! He knows what you are going to do or what move you're about to make before you do it. Not to mention jumping to block taller players shots before they get to the peak of there jump in the air. And then he covers ground very quickly. He is a beast on Defense. N.O with the talent that they just got will be a problem once they mesh. Them and the Clippers will be a fun game to watch because of their defenses.

Remove Beverley and put Smart and I'm okay with this list. Beverley is incapable of guarding multiple positions and he also lacks the height and quickness to switch around. He makes up for it with hard hounding defense and 100% effort, but effort can only help you so much. MS on the other hand, is an incredibly smart defender, at 6'4, can guard 1-through-4 and is probably the strongest point guard in the league? I'm incredibly high on DJ and Lonzo, though. I think one of them has the potential to be the 2nd ever PG to win the DPOY award, since Gary Payton.

I love how he basically invites guards to try and push him off but he easily takes the hit and in that split second he reaches in to get the steal. I hope Lonzo learns from him and improves his defense even more because once they both click it will be a problem for many guards. Unfortunately with so many new players and injuries we haven't been able to see the defensive potential of of them together but I think the Pelicans can be an elite defensive team.

Yeah the Lakers should’ve tried to give up Jordan Clarkson 2.0 and something else to try and get Jrue. He was the real leader on that pels playoff team, especially on defense
