DAZN suffers a bit from lack of focus. Are people really watching soccer, rally racing, or billiards on DAZN? That seems like stuff ESPN has well covered. That said, they’re kind of a must subscribe if you’re into boxing. They’ve been putting on some pretty good fight nights lately, and they do a nice job of posting up highlight clips after each event. Watching the young prospects they’ve been showcasing can be fun - look up the David Stevens vs Sergio Lopez fight recently on one of their undercards. It’s two super middles with like 10 fights between the two of them doing their best impersonation of the Foreman-Lyle fight. It’s a hilarious sloppy shitshow of a match. (All credit to both men - they gave it their all and proved they’re both warriors, I mean zero disrespect to them). The thing I’d love to see from DAZN is more combat sports. Make it THE service for combat sports. They’re doing a nice job with their own cards, great, now bring in a bunch of other stuff. It couldn’t be expensive for them to get the rights to broadcast some good current Muy Thai and Kickboxing fights, and getting the rights to club fights in latin america would be almost free. I’d love to see stuff like that on there. Anyway I hope they are sponsoring boxing RU-vidrs. Good on them.

Lighter weights have always had great fighters. This is nothing new. The thing now though is that other sports are taking the big guys. Understandably. If you could make it in, say, basketball, why would you mess with boxing where you could end up with a scrambled brain? Not many other paths for a 115lb dude though, which js why the lower weights remain great.

hes not at all the only reason. hes a relatively recent addition to a massive roster of cant-miss fights and fighters below featherweight. us boxing fans have been watching the lower weight classes for years and years because the quality of fighter and competition and matchups is the best the sport has to offer.
