OMG dying. As soon as the mariachi music came on in our house, I went looking for a broom or something, otherwise I was going to have to do some cleaning chore I *didn't* want to do.
I'm a white guy originally from Virginia who started listening to Latin music when I was 5 years old in the basement playing those cheap bongos with paper heads. Back then is mostly Herb Alpert and Sergio Mendez. To this day I still love, listen to and play Latin music. Watching your reaction to this amazing performance is fantastic. It shows that appreciation for this type of talent transcends race, language, national origin, etc.
There are so many great genres of music. However, it's the passion of a song a and the performer that will win you over...and this one, definitely does that. Try this one as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6iYB4BiaYWw.html
It doesn't matter what race you are the important thing is that you value good music. Thank you🙂 I am Mexican American and I loved Michael Jackson, because he was a great artist.
If "Coming from the bottom" was a person. Despite Juan Gabriel having a horrible childhood, broke af, & being wrongly convicted of a crime, he became a legend👏🏼.
I had the privilege to see him live in El Paso, TX when I was in 4th grade...I'm now 41yo and still to this day that concert remains one of the most iconic things I've ever seen and experienced in my life to date! Truly a one of a kind live performing artist!
DICE QUE EL sabe POQUITO ESPANOL , PERO QUE NO NECESITA HABLAR ESPANOL PARA SENTIR LO QUE TRANSMITE JUANGA,, Y QUE EL SHOW VALE LO QUE PAGARON POR VER,, QUE NO PODIA DEJAR DE MOVERSE AL OIRLO.
He was a diva 😂 he loved that shit lol. He was like that 1 gay kid at school who would hella turn up whenever they played music during lunch and get everyone around to making noice so he could turn up even more 😂
Back in the days everyone knew he was gay and being conservative méxicans you wouldn’t ask those questions to him. Everyone just loved how he would sing and performed. He was just one of the kind. To this day everyone just wanted him to be happy no matter with who. He was so loved by Mexico! He is compared to like Elton John of Mexico I think.
Maybe you mean Elton because he was Gay, but in terms of talent he was as big as Freddy Mercury. JuanGa was and always gonna be a Mexican God Artist. We miss him so much.
It’s so heart warming to see people appreciate and understand our culture. Mexico has so much to offer. The music especially can be so raw and powerful. Thank you! ❤️❤️
I know! I saw his documentary, and I loved him even more. He was the real man. He was himself during a time, when stupid machismo was what every man was supposed to be.
I only found out about that just right before his death ('cause his autobiography came out or something) and yeah, all his life he had a really complicated relationship with his mom, searching for her approval since he was literally a baby, and never quite getting it even after being so successful; very Freudian. Relistening to his songs with that in mind is a whole new experience.
One time, one of my phillipino friend asked me if I knew. Who was the number 1 singer in his phillipino town " I said how would I know" he said " Juan Gabriel" Juan Gabriel ...Who .... Your very own Mexican " Juan Gabriel...
Paulina Un orgullo MEXICANO! MEXICANO Y PUNTO!
The subscribers are gonna rain on you, juan gabriel is so popular in all the Spanish countries and the whole world he's like the Michael Jackson of Mexico
This Channel appreciation for a different culture’s music is amazing... I’ve seen others but you show you really FEEL our BEATS and respect them ... after all, Latin and African’s rhythm it’s one BLOOD! 💯💜
I'm 37 and I grew up in Colombia and this man was AMAZING! He was truly an icon, and the most interesting thing about him is that he was always so effeminate, but his talent was the only thing that came true, he was loved by absolutely everyone.
Juan Gabriel (RIP) is an ICON for Mexico he has become a TRUE LEGEND FOR MEXICO, new generations wont know what a tru show man is, what a tru concert is, what a true artist is.
Brother, I spend hours watching Non-Spanish speaking voice coaches react to hard core latin music legends. I had to pull my car over to write this. This is by far THE BEST reaction I've seen regarding Juan Gabriel, you probably have no idea of the reach and magnitude of this all around artist. Great job!👍👍
I´ts very important you know. Juan Gabriel sing two twices in the Palacio the Bellas Artes of México, this place es a very important why only presents opera's singer. Juan Gabriel was the only and one popular singer that chance rules, he sing and broke record. Postmortem tribute was made in Bellas artes
I watched Juan Gabriel live three times, two of those in Palenque in Guadalajara, Mexico and one here in the US. He is the MAN!!! You cry, you sing, you scream, you dance, you get drunk. I cried for over a week when he died. Thank you for your appreciation to our music. Much love and respect, love your channel ❤
Basically the narrative of the song is; I had a great life, I was a happy man...no cares in the world..And then I met you and been suffering ever since.Very relatable...🤣
Isabela Suey it’s a good point. Imagine what you feel watching the video but multiplied by 100! I had the chance to see him live about three times to sold out locations...every penny was worth! A real profesional had the audience at their feet and dancing for the whole concert and nobody wanted to leave... it was completely awesome !! Saludos desde Mexico lindo!! 👊
@@cachorrodetiger I can believe that, he seemed to hold the entire crowd in his hand like Freddy Mercury. On the other hand, I have seen King's X in small clubs, even though they are all still alive you might not have a chance to get that experience. So I will just tell you, it's like being gently held in God's hand and lifted up.
He was our king, he wrote that song 4 her mother, whom abandoned him for that he grew up un foster homes and then he welcomed her as a grown succesful men, Juanga had the biggest and purest heart
Hi Jamal! So let me get this "interpretation" as accurate as I can: I didn't know about sadness tears or nothing that makes me cry I known about petting and kindness 'cause that's what my mama teach me that's what my mama teach me... that and a lot of things more I'd never suffered ''d never cried, I was so happy I lived so well I used to live so different, something beautiful something divine and full of happines I known about happiness and the joy of life, but not about loneliness, of that and a lot of thing more. I'd never suffered I'd never cried, I was so happy I lived ... Iived so well. *****NOW I'M GONNA SHOW YOU THIS PART OF THE SONG WITH THE TIME THAT IS HAPPENING SO YOU KNOW HOW DRAMATIC IT IS*** 3:13 : Untill.. 3:18 : Untill ... 3:20 I met you.... I saw the life with pain, I'm not lying to you, I was happy but with so little love And I understood too late that I should NEVER have loved you, 'cause now I think about you so much more than yesterday, but so SOOOO much more... (In the minute 4:36 he said "don't provoke me" in a very naughty way 'cause the audience knows that he was feeling IT, and he was going to slay it in any moment) 4:49 until I met you.... I started to see the life with pain, I'm not lying to you, I was happy but with so little love And I understood too late that I should NEVER have loved you, 'cause now I think about you so much more than yesterday, but so SOOOO much more... I'd never suffered 5:41 But unfortunately It was a night like this one... when I found... you. *NOW FROM THE MINUTE 6:20 WE CAN GET A PIECE OF JUAN GABRIEL DOING HIS THING SLAYING THOSE MOVES AND GIVING US ONE OF THE MOST LOVED SONGS FOR THE HEART BROKEN PEOPLE IN MEXICO. SO ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL PART UNTIL HE STARTS TO SING IN 8:51... now I want you to tell me If meeting you was worth it, 'cause I never want to see you again, 'cause you were mean so mean to me that's why I NEVER EVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN ... ***repeat until Juan Gabriel gets so intense that his choir and mariachi starts to sing with him*** ACTUALLY THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST SINGED SONG IN KARAOQUES IN MY COUNTRY (I'M MEXICAN) AND I'M SO PROUD OF HIM. WE CALLED HIM "EL DIVO DE JUAREZ" THAT MEANS JUAREZ'S MALE DIVA, CAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS HE WAS GAY, BUT THANKS TO HIS MUSIC NO ONE JUDGED HIM, WE JUST LOVED HIM FOR THE WONDERFUL MUSIC THAT HE GAVE US, AND FOR SHOWING US THAT LOVE IS UNIVERSAL AND MUSIC HAS NO LANGUAGE, AND REGARDLESS OF WHO YOU CHOOSE TO LOVE YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR THE THINGS YOU LEFT IN THE WORLD. Ps: that kind of respect coming from the society in Mexico on that decade was very unusual, that's why I pointed out he was gay.. no disrespect... VIVA JUAN GABRIEL
I hope jamel sees this cuz your translation is great. I want to know what he thinks once he knows what Juan Gabriel said and has more background knowledge of him. 💖💔💖 great job !
"Hasta que te conoci" means "Until I Met You" in the song, he talked about growing up not knowing the downsides of life. Everything was perfect until one day that person showed up and ruined everything for him. It's a beautiful yet sad story about what a person can do to you. Personally for me, it's kinda like a lesson you learn in life where there's cruel people in the world and there's not much we can do to prevent that but that's how life is. That's my outlook on this song. Much love and respect from New Mexico!
The real stuff is that the song talks about his mom she abandon him in an orphanatory i know that because i live where he start his Career here in Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua he started in el Noa Noa he has a lot of music hes know as El Divo De Juarez sadly he died like 4 years ago RIP
@@Aldackz that's cool. Us Chicanos grew up with oldies and although we heard this growing up too, a lot of the meanings of these kind of songs, we get wrong sometimes. It's good to hear some corrections here and there
Oh man, that performance at Bellas Artes is an epitome of his career. His voice, his sass, the mariachi, oh Lord, everything! Still gives me the chills.
You know you got a good one when a song makes you feel blue, want to cry and also makes you dance and the video gets a laugh out of you. Of course he sings heavenly.
Juan Gabriel!!!
He is a great storyteller. And that voice my god! The texture of his voice! Quality of his voice! He is a voice and quite the entertainer! And can we give it up for the musicians? Wow! Such a gorgeous blend with his voice! Thank you for this video!
I would be interested to know what you think about Hwasa from the group Mamamoo. Another voice with unique textures and range. You know it's her, whisper to shout, gripping your soul. I love standout unique performers.
WOW, What ever he was singing I could feel his love, his deep sentiment. His voice is so powerful. Thank you for reviewing this great amazing voice. I am now intrigued to find more videos of this man. Thank s for your review. I just subscribed to your channel. Big hug 🤗
Howdy Owl. Juan Gabriel is the reason I learned Spanish, back in the 70s. I spent most of junior high school attempting to translate his songs. Here's a few of the old classics for you: ru-vid.com/group/PL9E57B1AC651BEDEC
Wanda Król piękny koncert Sir Gabriel to Legeda pięknych piosenek dziękuję, A piękno Gratulacje.za piekno i całokształtem niesamowity koncert i ten głos który trafia do serca dziękuję pięknie pozdrawiam z Poland 💔♥️🕊🍀🕊🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹🌹🕊😢😢🕊🌍
My mom, may she rest in peace, suffered from depression constantly. She told me that in order to beat it, she would play his videos to feel better. You're right when you say he had stage presence. He enjoyed what he did, he makes me say, "Teacher, teacher, show me how you do it. It looks so easy like there was nothing to it!"
This is best reaction! I have seen so far. You feel the music, and it's really amazing to watch foreign people hearing Mexican singers. I swear you almost make me cry 😁😁😁 so excited
I've been to a lot of concerts in my 51 years. I was able to see many great performers like, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera and even Garth Brooks. Well over a hundred concerts but he stands far above them all. He was an awesome talent gone too soon.
He wrote one of the saddest songs I know, Amor Eterno. It's a song for his mother, who passed away while he was on tour in Acapulco, Mexico. If you'd like, I can subtitle a video for you, you could trully get the full experience given the fact you'd understand the lyrics -asuming you don't speak spanish, of course-. Thank you for another beautiful reaction to one of the greatest singers in Latin America ♥
OK! I subtitled the live video from Bellas Artes, and youtube blocked it two hours after I posted it. Sooooooooooooooo, I'm doing it again in an mp4 video so I can take it to a drive so I can somehow post it....idk anymore T_T
@@joshrandor4371 thank you!! That song became a tribute to lost loved ones. The poetry of the lyrics, so simple and yet so raw with pain, and his performance...just incredible. Amor eterno and abrázame muy fuerte are two songs of his that make me cry every time.
You're the only English speaking man on RU-vid that I know that appreciates Juan Gabriel. All of his live performances are something to see and admire. Please do more. That is one rabbit hole you won't regret falling down in.
Abel Sorry but he was not he is we Mexicans do not believe in the final death while his music continues to be heard and we keep remembering him in not dying he is still alive in us and of course he is one of many great Mexican composers and performers that my Mexico has greetings
OMG all that concert was the bomb. Juan Gabriel was a great interpreter he made us feel his pain, and or joy. Listen to his song Así fué. Thank you for this reaction 😘🤗🇲🇽
I liked that your reaction to this icon was respectful and real. You listened to this ICON with such a good vibe. Juan Gabriel was a wonderful human being, one of the best singers ever too. I am not even Mexican and I am not a fan of this music BUT I will always respect and reassure him. Juan Gabriel was and will be always a legend, best singer ever
I really love your reaction to Juan Gabriel, this man is one of Mexico biggest performers known all over the world with over 60 million albums sold. My sister in law used to play his songs almost every day and it took awhile till I finally really started listening to his voice and I was a fan from there on, he's the only performer I know that almost always has a full Orchestra behind him with Mariachi bands and choir singing.
South american here, growing up with this man was the best thing to ever happen, when i was a brat i didnt understand his lyrics now that im a grown man i just cry with emotion everytime he sings Great love to my S.A brothers!
I'm from Argentina (latin america, the bottom part), I'm 42, and remember as a kid my mother saying the name Juan Gabriel but I never listened to his music until you react to this song and I can't stop watching and watching again this video. Thank you for make me know this amazing musician
I FIND THE LYRIC OF THE SONG, TO UNDERSTAND THE FEELING OF THE SONG UNTIL I MET YOU I didn't know about sadness, I didn't know about tears, or anything That would make me cry I knew about affection, tenderness, Because ever since I was little, That's what my mother taught me, That's what my mother taught me That and so much more I never suffered I never cried I was so happy My life was great My life was so different, something beautiful, something divine Full of happiness I knew only about joy, about the beauty of life, But not about loneliness, But not about loneliness and so many other things too I never suffered, I never cried, I was so happy....My life was great Until I...met you, I started to see life with pain I was happy, I'm not lying Even though with so little love, And I realized too late, That I shouldn't have loved you, Because now I think about you More than yesterday, so much more I never suffered, I never cried, I was so happy... But I found you Now I want you to tell me If meeting you was worth it or not Because I don't believe you anymore And you were so bad Yes, you were so bad with me That's why I don't want you I never want to see you
He always had his mariachi and orchestra. This man was a genius. He started with nothing. He went to jail when he was younger and came out writing songs
