Juan Manuel Marquez knocks out Manny Pacquiao in Round 6 - Reaction from Philippines:
Thousands of fans gathered in New Bataan in the Philippines to watch Manny Pacquaio's fight with Juan Manuel Marquez.
But they did not get to celebrate the result they wanted.
Their national hero was knocked out in the sixth round by Marquez.
It was another blow to a country that has suffered extreme heartache in recent days.
New Bataan was rocked by Typhoon, which killed over 600 people last week.
Despite the devastation, Pacquiao still captures people's attention - but fans were shocked Pacquiao was defeated.
Earnie Morada, Pacquiao fan:
"We lost! Marquez is really a good counter puncher, we were not expecting this but Marquez really won."
Bong Hardin, Pacquiao fan:
"Marquez was really prepared for this fight, Marquez is more prepared compared to Pacquiao. Congratulations El Dinamita."
Pacquiao is a major political figure in the Philippines.
If his loss to Marquez does signal the end of his boxing career, the 33-year-old may concentrate on leading his compatriots as they aim to rebuild their country in the future.
