Well, he did…with his daughter who also give happy life for non mutants as well (Spiderman had Uncle Ben and Gwen, Cap got Buck instead of Winter Soldier, etc.) later went bonkers and decimated the mutants. (Referencing House of M)
Still, it goes to show just how much Magneto has changed. In the past, he would have slain Morph for his insensitive remark right on the spot and been applauded for it.
@@jturner2577 I don't know, maybe she was more like 13 going on 14? I mean Episode 1 of Season 1 debuted and took place in 1992, right? And this series takes place sometime in 1997, so…
1:09 Logan smiling, I like to think after 25 years in status this version of Logan grew all the more caring for those he cares about, dad figure to Jubilee
Yep, and also in the comics he would agree to a point with Magneto about being prepared, and then he would also let her celebrate her birthday as long as she was responsible.
The fact in some canons Logan was in WWII and had to free a lot of people from those camps and one of them was the camp Magneto was in him hitting the side eye hits harder than it should
@@matthewallen2273 Magneto and Xavier always de-ages themselves. And I don't mean the general timesliding of superhero comics....every few years or so , Marvel makes a new adventures in which results of Magneto and Xavier getting younger new versions of their body. So Magneto is always an holocaust survivor , and he is chronologically in his 80s or 90s...but his body is roughly in his 40s.
@matthewallen2273 Sadly, I don’t think the world will be lacking in ethnic discrimination for the foreseeable future. Off the top my head, making Magneto an Uighur would probably capture the spirit of Magneto’s current backstory, even if the Holocaust and the antisemitism that preceded it isn’t a one-to-one match with modern China’s oppression of the Uighurs.
Morph: Someone’s daddy didn’t get him a pony for his sweet 16. Mags: My parents perished when I was a child. Morph: And thanks for proving my point, Mags.
Magneto:"My decision stands. Charles made me leader of the X-Men. This is not a democratic." Wolverine:" So then what is it bub? A dictatorship, Oh wise Fuhrer." (Wolverine's skeleton was then tuned into a folding chair)
i really hope they further explore magneto with this lens. this is magneto at his best - dissecting how his trauma hindered his ability to see the positives in life.
I’m glad the original VA for Rogue came back. You can definitely hear that she’s older now, and Rogue occasionally sounds like a sweet, southern grandma. Maybe they should pitch her voice up or something after her lines are recorded?
So...when Magneto moved into the mansion, did he not bring any clothes other than what he has on and his new costume? Like that guy does not dress casual.
Even Logan is on board for celebrating Jubilee's B-Day, and his early years were arguably worse than Eric's. The guy is an old grouch, but he managed to soften up a little. Too bad Eric can't do the same.
I don’t know why they all didn’t just go to the arcade, magneto owning the mansion doesn’t mean he owns all of them as people he can’t tell them what to do lmao
If I was Magneto I would have everyone run their drills, and then take them to the arcade myself. From what I learned in the military, it’s fine to demand a lot from your squad, and it’s also okay to let them have their downtime. The harder you work, the harder you play.
I really hope next weeks episode has them going to the arcade and Magneto actually enjoying himself. Although, he will need some street clothes. I'm not a fan of his "Hero" outfit as is, but in public, yeah, lose the cape, dude.
@@LegionIvory I don't think as a main story villain, might have appeared in a cameo in various splash page type shots. It's very strange since this era of X-men (ie the 80's and early 90's comics the animated show draws from) was his heyday.
Magneto knows its time for war and their is not alot room for packaging in fun for her 18 bday when they are on the offensive. Perfect leader for the era when the world is not a post racial society for mutants. However, Jubilee is still a young woman and she must enjoy her youth which means Magento must learn how to balace work and play.
I enjoy that Jubilee is basically playing the role of all the New Mutants this season. Magneto was a dick of a headmaster in the comics and always was too hard on the New Mutants and they hated him for it.
You know I'm gonna make this a fun comet. But I kind of wonder what the day 1 day would have been like if they had gone to the arcades. And Jubilee got her birthday wish. Could you imagine seeing how fun it would be seeing magnito? Actually have some fun for a change, not taking it seriously. Just kind of chillin just a little bit even exhavier. Probably wouldn't have done it at 1 point in time. If Jubilee really wanted it besides how cool would it be to see Wolverine playing a video game? I know more would have had a blast. Beast probably would have been to the arcades, but he would have read. Probably gonna take a block. More would have turned in to the characters LO. L that could have been hilarious. If the episode had went that way I mean what we got was great. But imagined the possibilities if the x men did take a day off and maybe instead of going to arcade turned a danger room into an arcade for a while, just saying just for fun.
Ik gambit and rogue being a pair has such longstanding history then Magneto suddenly swoops in crashes the party and deflects any of Gambits attempts to woo Rogue back
@@Salmagros I think I remember her saying she was 15 in an episode of season 2. So I'm guessing she was 15 at the start of the series or possibly still 14.
hold on. Jubilee has turned 18? Isn't this meant to be five years after the original? You expect me to believe that she was meant to be 13 in the original series?
Gambit asking for a cappuccino from Magneto--I think he wants in on whatever Rogue and Magneto are doing together. Like he's accepted there's something going on, but he's hinting that he wants whatever Magneto is offering too. BTW we need a sad trombone for this whenever Magneto says stuff like this. But still, Morph, did they not teach you any history? Do you not know about the Holocaust?
That’s literally been his character since the original show morph is an asshole on purpose. This is the only instance where he was an asshole by accident 😂
If they don’t get Magneto out of that ladies outfit. ( yes I know it’s from the comics) and it sucked in the comics too. Looks worse in animation. He has on Marilyn Monroe gloves lmao
He kinda have another thing in his mind and most of the X-men weren't that chill about Magneto at first but he proved himself a little bit in Episode 2.
I mean for the most part I don’t think any of the X-men consider him their leader, they’re just letting him think that otherwise he’ll be off somewhere doing whatever he pleases (keep friends close enemies closer logic)
They trust Charles, and it was Charles last will and testament. Granted i doubt that will mean much should Eric prove that Charles was wrong to trust him in death.
The release of X-Men 97 has sparked a lot of debate and criticism among fans, especially the nostalgia-driven viewers. Many believe that the original series was perfect and any deviation from it is considered to be a devastation. However, it is important to realize that times have changed and the creators are trying to bring something new to the table. If the new series doesn't please the nostalgia-driven viewers, then they simply shouldn't watch it. Additionally, it is worth noting that a large portion of the audience who will be watching X-Men 97 were not even born when the original series aired, and therefore do not have the same attachment to it. It is unfair for them to be judged solely based on their lack of knowledge about the original canon. Instead of being stuck in the past and clinging onto an ideal version of X-Men, it's important to appreciate the evolution and growth of the franchise. Let's not be a stick in the mud and give this new series a chance to prove itself. After all, change is inevitable and sometimes necessary for progress.
What's the problem? Her voice? The VA's older and hasn't played the role in 30 years. The character design? Look close enough to original design to me.
@Salmagros Rogue and Magneto aren't a "thing" in the main timeline. They are together in exactly 1 timeline, and its one of the worst X-men storylines.
