awesome cover of the 1975 Joan Baez acoustic hit. Even Joan was shocked and flattered that Rob Halford covered her song about her early 60's relationship with Bob Dylan. Judas Priest takes this very personal song up another level and proves a great song is forever, no matter who performs it.
I saw this tour in Budapest and I had the biggest goosebumps during Diamonds and rust! The crowd was standing still, pure shock on the faces, and it was so for the whole concert, such was the magic of that show.
I cant believe I'm seeing the mighty Priest next month!!!! I couldnt eat the day I saw Saxon live I was so excited so Christ knows what I'll be like a few days before Priest. Its going to be a loooooooong month indeed and hope they do this track, accoustic or otherwise.
This is just a testament to how good a song writer that Ms. Baez is that it can be done as a folk song and as a heavy metal song. The translations are bit a different, but it is still a strong song and resonates on so many different levels. Would never have thought that JP could do it, but dang if they didn't do it ... and do it well.
Remember these show, Priest reunited with Rob! The Crowd was so happy to see the Real priest on stage again. The group and the Crowd was on fire! Viva catalunya!
This is just amazing! The best performance of that song ever. The funny thing is I watch them the day before in Sofia and I thought there can not be a better performance than this!!!! But this Valencia guys blow me away. AMAZING
They actually sang this at the CT show and it was great. I really had a fabulous time at their show and will definitely see Priest again when they come back to the tri-state area. -H-
@xero399 Hi there. This is from a special edition of the "Angel of Retribution" CD. One side is the normal CD, the other side has interview stuff and a couple of songs: this one, Electric Eye, Touch of Evil and Breaking the law, if I remember it correctly. Greetz from Germany, Priest forever!
Well, Tim is really good. But, I'm really fond of Rob Halford, 'cos he's the only Judas Priest singer. Tim was just a replacement. Rob sings this song with much more quality than Tim and has much, much more passion. Cheers!
