Appreciate Judas Priest more and more as time goes on. In the 80's as a kid taken for granted, now realise they are one of the greatest bands of all time.
Dude same here, i never disliked them, I just slept on them for so many years. These are the very roots for the stuff I was into, which was really just late 80s and 90s thrash and death metal
And this album, Defenders of the Faith, was one of their best, not a weak track on the album. Been listening to it religiously for 39 years and it never gets old.
@@LoePenzz Nah, no way...love both Priest and Maiden but I would rank Tipton as the best between both bands, followed by Murray, Smith, KK and Janick being the worst, relatively speaking.
Fast and furious We ride the universe To carve a road for us That slices every curve in sight We accelerate, No time to hesitate This load will detonate Whoever would Contend its right Born to lead At breakneck speed With high octane We´re spitting flames Freewheel burning On we catapult We´re thrusting to the hilt Unearthing every fault Go headlong into any dare We don´t accept defeat We never will retreat We blaze with scorching heat Obliterations everywhere Born to lead At breakneck speed With high octane We´re spitting flames Freewheel burning Look before you leap Has never been the way we keep Our road is free Charging to the top And never give in never stops The way to be Hold on to the lead With all your will and concede You´ll find there´s life With victory on high Freewheel burning
Proper metal. Judas priest style heavy metal. Bought this on cassette in 85 when i was 15. My 3rd after killing machine and screaming for vengeance. I wore that fucker out in 12 months. Freewheel burning was my fav kickass song of the day. Converted many infidels to priest with the help of defenders. Keep on defending the faith you heavy metal maniacs.
Oh, those solos (G.T/Both/K.K 2:10 - 3:10)!! ...Oh, + those "The Sentinel" solos!!! ...OH, + ALL THAT ALBUM SOLOS!!! ...OH, + ALL THEIR '80s SOLOS!!! ...OH, + ALL THEIR CAREER!!! (They Just Put Out a New Song - Worth Checking It Out!!!)
DOTF will always be the definitive JP album of my childhood. Freewheel Burning and The Sentinel are in my top 3 favorite JP songs. Any metal compilation mix or RU-vid list I create will always have Freewheel Burning on it. It is just that awesome.
+TheAxeGrinder Unless you've been living under a rock, plenty of games have Priest on the soundtrack but Brutal Legend has Rob Halford as himself as a main character.
@@arvindshastry1178 we are talking about guitar duos doesn’t matter if we are fun of the bands .. megadeth way better musicians than slayer etc etc always had top guitar almost like jazz playing to perfection
*-Today, after more than 30 years of "Defenders of the Faith", it continues to be, in my opinion, another very underestimated and undervalued album in the career of these metal gods, goodbye Dave Holland I Miss You.*
What's not to like? it's the 80's! Judas Priest is in their apex of their career! METAL RULES!! and not just Priest are releasing great albums metal was huge at the time!
Heavy Metal is a helluva drug!!!!! 🤘🏻😜. “Look before you leap has never been the way we keep, our road is free!!!! Charging to the top and never give in, never stops the way to be!!!! Hold on to the lead with all your will and don’t concede, you'll find there's life.. With victory on high!!!!!!!!!…. FREEWHEEL BURNING… FREEWHEEL BURNING… FREEWHEEL BURNING!!!!!!!”
Better than Screaming For Vengeance song for song. A lack of a single that MTV played would've accelerated sales. This album should have sold three million.
I saw Judas Priest at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix with Great White (when they played heavy metal) on May 3rd, 1984. 39 years later, I finally see this video. I was just days away from turning 18 then and am just days away from turning 57 now.
How did we fall from THIS, to grunge, and finally to essentially nothing. I now understand what it must have felt at the beginning of the Middle Ages after Rome fell. Everything great is in the past.
I first heard the live version in July 1987 U.K friday rock show radio. I still have the cassette with that session on it, it also had Damage INc metallica, and Tony Macalpine Kings cup God, those were the days....
To be 16 years old, and being in the car of my father, when this heavy metal bomb blew my head up. Little pieces of my brain and blood stains are still in the windows; the impact was really strong
