I would love to talk to you about my collection of Valve amps & Custom guitars, I collect & rebuild boutique amps also Bob, Now Geting the tone out of that Guitar is all about proper pickups, switching, proper grounding, wiring & potentiometers + switching from putting a capacitor in on a pot to hold on for the volume roll off for and to keep the highs. So many things are in play to get that Guitar tone. Cheers Bob appreciate you Bro, Luv&Peace to you & Rachel
I love geeking out on guitar gear, and I *love* that Glen Tipton Hamer that you built, Bob! You might try reaching out to Premier Guitar for information. John Bolinger did a Rig Rundown with Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner about three or four years ago, and he might be able to help. Looking forward to more guitar videos!
Wow Bob, you're the true boss! Your guys in the band should be very proud of working with ya. It reminds me how back in the day, when I played in the bend, I always bought stuff for other members, but they just took it for granted.. :) I wish I lived in Vegas and could play in your band. Piece brother \m/
The best all around sounding guitar he used is the black 78 Strat with mirror pick guard white Dimarzio pickups maple neck and Kahler Pro trem. Although he says his favorite is the 61 cream Strat I’ve seen him play that black one a bunch. Couple that to a Line 6 Helix with the Glenn Tipton sound profile and your set.
I've got a Yamaha SPX 90 I've owned since new in the 80's if you're interested. Is your guitar guy Pat Woodward? He set up one of my guitars and it's played like a dream ever since. He's a true wizard. I think he's still doing business in Vegas.
I´m really curious about the SPX90 preset, someone said that he use an octave down from it blended to his sound but it would sound weird. btw it seems that Rob also used the SPX90 with the pitch+ one one side and pitch- the other sort of a chorus effect to make his voice more wide in the mix. I got a rockman sustainor to the turbo, ram it down, painkiller I saw a picture of KK´s studio with it and finally everything fit in place. that is the sound.
Bob since that lambo is a replica why not updated a salvaged hurricane dash into it, a old lambo with a modern lambo dash steering wheel and seats would be one of a kind ✌🏽
Glenn really likes recording direct to line without using cabinets. Depending on the era different gear , but to get tone close to his I don't trust that drawing , high quality humbuckers for sure ,clean treble booster and solid state hard clipping like the one produced by the Marshal Ms2 on the headphone output will get you on the ballpark. Bridge is irrelevant . Late 80s and Painkiller were done using Rockman preamps straight to line. (Don't confuse Rockman with Rocktron)
I love hamer guitars they’re actually is a Gladden Tipton model a couple of them that were made. They are currently being sold on reverb and on eBay ESP also made a Glenn Tipton model. I would give you my phone number, but I don’t want everybody to have it. There are some crazy people out there. I wish I knew how to get a hold of you. I could give you a really good education on how to get some of these guitars, best of luck to you love Judas Priest. My favorite band is KISS but Judas is awesome and I know you’re a KISS fan also
Next time you run into Halford ask him about that show June 18 1984 . They got banded for life in m.s.g. seat cushions all over stage 2&1/2. 3' high. People were Insane. Wasn't their fault. One of the many I went to ✌️
