Only listened to it once at the gym this morning , not a skipper in the bunch . Gonna give it a few more spins over the weekend and let it bed in properly . I think I’d be happy with anything they choose to play from this album on the tour . Sons of thunder was great in the gym haha as was the title track . Still waiting on my copy from banquet records though
I love Painkiller, but now I‘m feeling Firepower still is the best since Painkiller. Some said it‘s the best since Screaming or even Killing Machine, but I love Defenders so much so I‘d agree with that statement. A top 10 Priest album for me, edging out both Firepower and Redeemer by a margin. Number 9 would be Turbo for me, but that‘s more of a guilty pleasure pick. Without choosing just one album I‘d say both Painkiller and Invincible Shield is the best stuff they‘ve done since Defenders.
Wonder when Scott Travis gets out of bed in a morning he puts his feet on the floor and can’t help doing the double bass pedal thing? Listened to the album yesterday and it’s good. Sounds modern with a nod to classic Priest.
Don't know about invincible but it's certainly a Jewish shield, isn't it. It would have been more honest of Rob Halford to put a giant syringe on the cover because that is most people's idea of a shield these days. Innit.
