Pantera shows how its done. Sadly Kev Shirley is only Steve's servant and not a so much needed opponent. Their last 4 outputs sound all the same to me sry to say that. Prolonged intros+outros, strained Bruce (I got it he suffered from a throat cancer, but still...look at Halford) and strangely mixed guitars. Yeah there are like 3-4 songs I really do like (When River Runs Deep, The Red and The Black...) but in general I like last 5 Priest outputs MUCH more.
Always been more of an Iron Maiden fan and, unfortunately, got introduced to Priest in Turbo years. Had to go back in their catalog to get some good music. Disagree about the 2000+ Maiden. Mostly solid releases with AMOLAD bring one of my favorite albums by them. I don’t expect any band in their 60s and 70s to capture the great sound of their classic era, but do find them enjoyable.
At least you have the original Maiden CDs - they sound great. Those 2001 Priest remasters are terrible - completely ruined the music with brickwalled compression (and bonus tracks that made no sense relative to the album they appeared on, bar ‘Painkiller’). Check out their first issue CDs, far superior 😉🤘
@@vikingraven4156 Check out discogs my friend. There’s a nice Japanese series from 1991, ESCA, if you’re into extpanded booklets of lyrics. Otherwise the US/EU CDs are great 😉

I am not a Judas Priest fan but you are a huge clown Shawn. Iron Maiden plays the same shit like 4 albums in a row but Iron Maiden fans are very undemanding and buy literally every shit their idols produce. Their last enjoyable album was Dance of Death. Nowadays Iron Maiden is more like a brandmark not a band. Boring, generic, prolonged and they call it "prog" that is the funniest thing about it. Judas Priest try to play fresh and new FAST songs at least. God bless them.
