i doubt anyone will read this, but if they do:
hello!! this is an edit i made for the novel ‘a little life’ - more specifically for jude, because he deserves the world. unfortunately, this is very bad DHDJDK but i worked hard on it, and if i hear this song one more time, i’ll go insane.

Brother Luke’s death was not enough. He was a disgusting coward who used Jude in the worst way. Reading I was kinda numb to it because I didn’t want my brain to fully register what exactly was happening to him. I’ve had to take a break from the book for a few weeks (but I am certainly gonna finish it) because I just can’t stand how terrible Jude’s life is. I sometimes randomly remember parts of his past and have to violently shake my head to clear my thoughts because it’s so bad 😭 I hope to any real life brother Luke, Caleb, foster parents, or adoption workers who abuse children know that you’re a piece of literal garbage who deserves only the worst things in life.

not even a single day goes where i don't think about jude, i have to remind myself he's not real hsjshj his character made such a big impact on me ive never felt so attached or relatable to any character before

@@calys.a. right :( like its been so many days since ive read the book but i keep going back to it, to the point where i smtimes hug thr book as if im hugging the characters, specially jude (or just comforting him bcs he doesn't like hugs), or maybe jude is comforting to me, in a way bcs i relate to him so much. it hurts so bad thinkin about his life :( he deserved so much. this turned into a rant sorry h

@@luviesh it's okay! it's good to vent, especially with this book that leaves everyone thinking for days. Jude is one of the characters that moved me the most, i will always remember him with affection and at the same time sadness that he went through so much

This is Jude's story, literally. I finished the book just 4 days ago and I'm still grieving for Jude and Willem. I keep telling myself they're fictional characters but my poor little heart refuses to listen.

HANYA NEEDS TO PAY A LOT OF THERAPY NOW... I remember crying my heart and soul out the Whole damn week telling myself im okay and its just a book This Book is Painfully Beautiful and Traumatizing that it made me scared of turning the pages knowing, things gets really f*cked up after something good is happening JUDE AND WILLEM DESERVES THE WHOLE WORLD! OMG !!!!

omg i swear i was in agony for like a month after reading it… i finished it in a july and grieved until august 😭😭 but you’re so right!! it was such a roller coaster of extreme highs and lows + jude and willem truly are the best

It makes you aware of your own frailties and of millions of others who, like Jude, are never capable of overcoming the brutality that marred their lives. However, the narrative is so vivid and straightforward and beautiful that it touches you and wakes you up. Can you cope with this? You will not be spared as a reader, but it's definitely a book worth reading.

thank u! and funny enough, the first few clips i used (for the church interior etc) are actually just stock video from various websites haha. the first real parts are from mysterious skin :-)
