And good looking. I finished this court and moved on the watch Chandler's case in Law and Crime Network and I missed him so bad, I came back and wathced the entrie court again. The Chandler's case is also wothry of wathching and their judge is doing a great job.
Love this judge! Enormous sense of professionalism, mixed with the pursuit of truth and justice whilst still retaining respect for the defendants. How he does this given the scum he’s facing is beyond me. Credit to him all the same.
I agree. You can even see his human side. He gives his judgements professional and explains it that way and shows emotion in his explanation only. I like him.
@@Williams370 Rodger's silence and unwillingness to come to the stand and testify proves that Wright was telling the truth. And I suppose you also think Taylor Shomaker was lying as well when she said Rodgers bragged to her about beating the woman to death with a hammer?
He showed Nothingness, while in court. His only regret is telling his wife what he did, bringing his phone, bloody clothing, and the hammer back home with him. Glad he is off the streets. ⚖️🪦🙏🏻☮️
EXACTLY! What this guy did was even Overkill. Not too mention, this guy was "chosen to help," because he'd already been involved in other murders before, but just hadn't EVER been caught. What this judge says, is ALSO, VERY VERY TRUE!
@Shirl Zitting EXACTLY.... More to come, like "Bubba," and realizing what people do to people like him in jail. People should also keep in mind that Rodgers was significantly younger than Siever's and Wright, who were both like 51. I believe the female Defense Attorney (the really Bitchy one- people who know what I'm talking about, will get this comment), said he was something like 23/24 when the crime was committed (and he'd already committed very heinous acts in the past- so prior to 23/24, and likely murder, from Wright's testimony). He's only like 27/28 during this hearing, so it's a really good thing he's going away for life. He has a clear pattern of behavior. Both Siever's and Wright are like Lastly, some people think that everybody in jail doesn't have a heart, but there are "things" that inmates _don't like_ (like child abuse, murdering women and children, etc).
Monsters walk among us. He's creepy as hell; greasy hair, smiling. Makes my skin crawl. Don't know why this showed up on my recommended, but this creature is horrid.
He killed an adult woman. I doubt he will receive the same treatment in prison as a sex offender would. He never harmed a child and wasn't convicted of a sex crime, so he'll probably be fine in prison.
Lukereok Why compare to a place that has nothing to do with where this happened. We are talking about "too light" in USA. It can even be different state to state.
The shakiness of Judge Kyles voice around 3:30 really drove home the disgusting nature of this crime and the rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate nature of the defense his attorneys put forward. To hear that from a man who in every other circumstance of his career has been solid as a rock and unshakeable in every way was telling to say the least. It was a perfect illustration of how the public felt in this case and I pray this brought the Doctors family some level of justice for her death.
You are right, He has a sharp and crisp voice and at this point he is shaking. If it wasn't a tragedy as it is , the three criminals looked like three stupids.
@@djblanton I am not religious, but I believe that every living creature has a soul, a spirit, a spark, something "good" that is connected to all that is around us, living or not, the whole Universe. When we do something "bad" knowingly, we chip at that connection. The spirit, soul, spark looses something and I think that loss becomes visible to the rest of us. Even animals know when someone is "bad", dogs growl, they have a physical reaction. This should be the subject of scientific study... but it may be beyond Science to find out what it is.
@@abelis644 Really liked reading your thoughts. Thanx for sharing them in such detail. So often social media produces one-liners that are hard to internalize. Your message is clear and I think you're on to something for sure.
Here we have a Judge that falls on the side of doing the, ," right things for the right reasons", a balance with some humanity. A reprieve from so many negligent corrupt individuals sitting on the bench. A pleasure if such a thing in this circumstance listening to the Judge!
He was 25 when he Murdered Dr. Sievers in 2015. 29-yrs old when he was sentenced. He was old enough to know better. I think he’ll do fine in Prison, he showed nothingness at his trial, and most likely continues feeling nothingness, while incarcerated. ⚖️🪦🙏🏻☮️
Speaking as a former Court Reporter, I learned that you never know who you are standing next to in the grocery line or what your neighbor is up to; this being an example. Looks like a computer nerd, maybe someone who works at Best Buy, right. He is totally psychotic. Thank God for the law and thank God for the police who caught this guy and Curtis Wright and Sievers for this horrible, horrible thing they did.
so true...this case and watching these court sessions have really taught me a lesson of what people are capable of doing...can never go by the looks of someone
Well Janet Leigh Headed - perhaps you can explain all the mercy he showed for the victim as she was beaten to death in her own home with a hammer you piece of human excrement. 😃
@@Jan-on1qb Well go ahead and try for some mercy for him. Maybe they will let him serve his time at your home. You could have a good time with him. Mercy has a place in this world-but not for this POS. He got less than what he deserved.
That lady tried to make him sound like he *WASN'T* _as bad_ . That's just RIDICULOUS! And to say he didn't use a weapon, but struck the deceased with the backside of a hammer? Come on! This guy had already committed crimes and even murders (and wasn't ever caught). Now he can pay for all of them!
She must be incapable of empathy. Would she talk that way if she were the victim? I don't get lawyers who stand up for the perps. Guess they care more about money than any victim.
@@kit2130 Unfortunately, I know from being in court a lot since Dec. 10, 2014 (when I finally left my daughter's father, who was extremely abusive), that a lot of attorneys have to take defense cases. I haven't ever been in a defense situation myself, but I've learned a lot about it, since my ex had mutiple pro-Bono attorneys for defense (but he actually ended up representing himself when we went to trial, talk about a Psycho... Nothing like having your ex who abused you, be the person to question you on the stand). In most cases, attorneys will rotate, almost like a "Round-Robin," type of thing. Eventhough they may not _like_ the case, they will take the case and unless there's some sort of issue, they will represent the client. With that being said, there's _NO_ reason, *whatsoever* for a defense attorney to be the way this attorney has been. She's clearly Disrespectful and doesn't act remember anything about what she learned in school and how to treat witnesses.
Goose I’m really sorry you had to go through that! Regarding defense lawyers, I just personally would not take a case in which I didn’t believe they were innocent. I couldn’t live with myself if I used all my time & energy to help evil people get away with their crimes. That’s just me.
@@kit2130 I totally agree. My friend's father is an attorney and mainly helps victims fight against wrong-doings -accidents, injuries, rape & molestation (I actually used him for my case against a family member who did some terrible things to me as a child for 4/5 until 9 years old, and was able to settle out of court, thankfully). He still has to take cases to defend some pretty terrible monsters though. Since they do get paid most of the time when they are significant cases (either murder or major drug cases), many attorneys will represent the defendant (also because the defendant won't tell them they're guilty, because if they do, the attorney isn't allowed to keep that a secret- according to him). He says he just disconnects from the "personal" aspect of the case, and sticks to strictly using the law to defend them. In some cases it just doesn't work though, and it's very difficult. Definitely not something I could do... That's for sure!
This is is my late cousin , Jackie Rodgers son. His brother actually is a successful attorney. Just how Jimmy took this turn is so puzzling and sorrowful.
JESUS DEMANDED THE DEATH PENALTY "Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!” Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ [Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy. 5:16] and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[Exodus 21:17; Leviticus. 20:9] But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’[ Isaiah 29:13]” Matthew 15:1-9. JESUS, THE BABY IN THE CRADLE GREW UP TO DEMAND THE DEATH PENALTY FOR CHILDREN WHO MOCKED THEIR PARENTS!
Buddy Silver show me where Jesus demand that? He said he came to fulfill the law! What you are talking about is under a law that Jesus finished. You really need to read your Bible. The law was their school master but Jesus came and died so man would be under grace. We are all under grace , the Administration of life not the law which is the administration of death you really need to study your word before you speak because Jesus became the final sacrifice and there is forgiveness under the blood of Jesus Christ! If that’s the case the when you lie you should be put to death and you can NOT TELL ME YOU HAVE NOT LIED !
@Peppa Pots Jimmy had a cruel father, his mom committed suicide,.just to mention a few, you people are ignorant. If you lived and grew up with such dysfunction you wouldn't have much of an expression either..God have mercy on your unforgiving & ignorant soul.
@Peppa Pots well of course he should'nt have killed. He has to reap the consequences of what he did and he will no doubt,..it's just so very sad the way he was treated growing up and he's mentally challenged on top of it. The men took advantage of him,.. absolutely selfish and mean the way they manipulated him to kill so they didn't have to go to prison,..such cowards. They didn't care what would happen to Jimmy either. The only time he showed emotion is when he had to listen to his brother talk about what it was like growing up,.. reliving it all over again. His older brother felt responsible,.. I just cried. And he's still being picked on,.. I just don't understand how cruel people can be. I know the Andy Griffith show,..and yes he resembles him😂
I am amazed with how captivating so decent gorgeous and just - Judge Bruce Kyle is ! I followed on this case only to listen to his clear crisp voice and the whole of an excellence in his being! I salute him and all my respect and admiration! The Best!!! So Honorable a judge.
The advertisement at the beginning of this video is for hearing aids .... the volume is extremely loud, enough perhaps to result in the need for them.... just saying.
Yes, but there needs to be a limit to the years you can appeal your case, it's ridiculous how long some convicted murderers are on death row. I say 10 years max and even that is too long.
Sorry but I feel like I'm living in some sort of alternative reality. Who the hell listens to a murder plot and doesn't call the police at the first opportunity? Failing that, who the hell agrees to kill someone for a few thousand dollars? And failing both those, who the hell rides in a car for twenty hours and doesn't say, "This is a bad idea, let's turn around." This worthless POS had every opportunity to stop this murder, but instead participated. He's every bit as guilty and deserves to fry.

Yvette Munoz you have a very sick mind to go so far into how he should be treated so if you did something wrong you should be tortured forever for it or do you just find it should be done to others?
The judge is absolutely correct. We're talking about the BRUTAL murder of an innocent woman by smashing her head in repeatedly with a fucking hammer. He should never be free again. None of them should.
This guy worked for us when he done this. Told us he couldn’t work over the weekend because he was going to Florida to watch his brother graduate law school.
Yes that was testimony during the trial. Jimmy Rodgers also was dumb to have taken his cell phone to prove he was in Florida and buy items in WalMart that had videos of him with Wayne Wright. Evidence that proved his guilt was clear and convincing.
He is absolutely a killer but i do have to think about the TRIAL TAX argument. NOONE should be sentenced more severally bc they choose to take a case to trial!
There was no trial tax. The other person they mentioned is Corey Wayne Wright Jr. who took a plea deal and pled to second degree murder for a 20 year sentence.
Amazing Honourable Bruce Kyle! Great work Prosecutor and team! ⚖️❤️ My deepest condolences to her family friends and colleagues. May she rest in peace🕊✝️❤️ Justice was served!
I'll never understand this. The man didn't accidentally kill someone. This was a premeditated brutal murder of a mother of 2 and money has to be spent to keep this guy alive for the rest of his life? For what purpose is he alive? He gave up his rights when he planned and executed the killing of someone. We're not talking about a car accident, not even drinking and driving, or even a bar fight. We're talking about and planned execution of a mother. I will never understand the judicial system.
With this case you can blame the citizens... the jury if you will. If they would have convicted him of first degree murder as the judge clearly states it should have been then no doubt he would have been sentenced to DEATH. Just like mark. So I wouldn't blame the judicial system on this one. It was clearly the JURY who went easy on this monster. The judge gave him the MAXIMUM sentence allowed for second degree murder.
Killing someone for money is the lowest for of murder whether it is contract killing or murdering a store clerk in a robbery, all should be given the maximum.
I think the jury got it wrong. He should have been convicted of 1st degree murder and conspiracy. Which would have made him eligible for the death penalty. He knew the plans and had a long time to think about it. The long ride from Missouri to Florida and a couple days hanging out. My question is how did both of them end up with hammers in hand? Just so happens Jimmy is AKA The Hammer? How did he not conspire with Wright to commit murder her? Maybe that's what the jury thought if they convicted him on 2nd degree murder, without a weapon? That he'd only get 25 years? The hammer was used as a weapon. Plus he had just gotten out of Federal prison on gun charges. Wright's deal was absurd. He should have been told agree to Life or we'll go for the death penalty for his testimony. Hell even 60 years. I do understand the jurors too because, I would not ever want to decide someone's fate.
@@gojobuddy That was Wright's deal. He agreed to a lesser sentence and not the death penalty if he testified against Siever. I don't get the other one's sentence though. He brought the hammer with him so he knew what he was going to do. Premeditated and only 2nd degree? Crazy jurors.
@@B-ch6uk I couldn't agree more, them claiming he did it without a weapon? Just because it wasn't a gun or a knife? It was still a weapon and the entire murder was premeditated. The judge saw right through that nonsense though and hit him up for being a repeat offender. Anything can be used as a weapon. I think the mere fact that these guys could so easily discuss killing someone's wife for money? How is that not conspiracy either? Speaks volumes about them and their characters, in general. I don't know what the jurors were thinking? It sure makes my stomach turn.
J M2064 And how dafuq would you know jacki? Which criminal hand have you shook while defending them? And no, your mother doesn’t count although it was a crime that she birth your dumb ass. Waiting...
They have to do everything right. Otherwise the defendant could claim a mistrial on ineffective counsel and then have to do it all over again costing taxpayers even more. Just shake his hand murdery and be done with it.
It's there job...it called the scale of justice...no different when a doctor saves the late of a murderer....they take oaths... It's a good thing that all of us aren't in the field of attorney or doctors.
Kathy Demartino right? He could be out in as few as 15 years. My favorite is when they make multiple sentences run consecutively. Rare but when it happens I love it.
@@kathydemartino362 He got life without parole for having a previous felony and was out previously. www.winknews.com/2019/12/12/sentencing-for-convicted-killer-jimmy-rodgers-happens-today/
Rodgers was sentenced as a prison release re-offender(Judge mentions PRR). Teresa Sievers’ murder was committed less than a year after Rodgers was released from federal prison. No Parole eligibility.
Wright testified that they both used hammers and that while he hit Dr Sievers 2-3 times, Rodgers hit her many times, to the extent he had to tell him (Rodgers) to stop and get himself under control.
here the judge makes an important remark... 3:25 Judge basically remarks that the state is the one determining what is justice by making “plea deals”... OMG😱
Out of all the people involved, Jimmy "The Hammer" should've been the one to make the deal instead of basically spitting in the detectives faces. How stupid do you have to be to bring your personal phone with you, go to Walmart and then keep everything you just used to kill someone with. Idiot! He got exactly what he deserved!
cointa rodriguez No, he got exactly what he deserved because he's a monster. All I'm saying is that you have two men who have been very close friends for many, many years and you have one moron who's really only there to help and you'd think the weakest link to crack would've been jimmy.
I wish that Jimmy would have talked like Wayne did. But he is so anti-‘the system’ that it sadly never happened. I will never understand why Wayne agreed to get involved in Mark’s plan, and after over a month and a half of planning, didn’t snap to his senses and say No to this craziness. I just don’t understand.
Chuck him into a cell with chris watts and jodie arias, Chris has has his hands to throttle, jodie has her knife, noe he’s got his hammer........yep a cell with a flushing toilet for water ..... feed em once a day let them sort it out!
This guy creeps me out. How can he even smile and giggle in a conversation knowing he took someone’s life...why does he get any time to talk to his brother? The woman he killed didn’t get to say goodbye to her family and never will and her family will have this trauma for the rest of their lives...
@@trololololol4354 When you get life in Florida, it means life. He did not say 25-years to life. He said Life because he was a PRR. Prison release reoffender for a felony. Even if he was given a different sentence? In Florida you have to serve 85% of that sentence before being eligible for parole. As if what he did to Teresa wasn't harsh and cruel?
Well he gets time with his brother. No other defendant have I seen other than the bottom Jon case where the defendant gets a hug from the judge giving a Bible by the judge and given a hug by Bottom Jeans brother please stop it no one else gets a hug especially black people!
Unbelievable! A fool to commit a homicide of another human being A well educated Doctor using her skills to help patients with their illness. All going for naught. Karma: You are served what you deserve.
I appreciate this Judge's demeanor and role in this process. In our system, it is the Judges who fail most often confusing their robes as a cloak of diety and supreme wisdom. The arrogance displayed by Judges is systemic and the unfair pro-prosecution and law enforcement and in the civil system they favor women in Family court unless the Father is wealthy and in other civil torts, they very often side with defendants who are large commercial enterprises. When a Judge is fair and impartial and is not an arrogant presence in OUR courtroom, not HIS?HER court. We pay for those rooms we even pay for the robes the staff and even the coffee so no illusions of grandeur please not on my dime anyway. To anyone reading this who believes I am a disgruntled defendant you would be wrong. 57 NO record of any kind. I hope that woman defense counsel was free because she is about the worst attorney I have ever seen.
Could have been nervous laughter. Judge sounded a bit nervous a few times when he was going through all the sentencing details. Nothing unprofessional about laughing before sentencing a piece of human decal material like Rodgers, I’d be laughing too. 😃
I am content with capital punishment for murderers convicted beyond any reasonable doubt. Those who murder break the social contract in a manner that cannot be amended. Their potential value no longer outweighs the burden of their continued existence. We have no need to risk future victims on a gamble. We are merely mortal. Leave it for God to judge the eternal soul. I see this convicted man is very frightened. That is not redeeming virtue. Even animals know fear, but even animals rarely kill beyond necessity.
This poor innocent doctor got the death penalty. And Jimmy the hammer, gets three hot Square meals, a roof over his head, free health insurance, and visitations.
