Even public defenders must qualify and have experience in the cases they are selected to defend. Seems qualifications aren't necessary when selecting a judge. Qualified with experience should be #1 in judge selection. Especially in a case, including espionage of the highest classified documents of this unprecedented nature with an ex president.

With Judge Merchan it was the 12 jurors that found Trump guilty on all 34 charges. They did their jobs. Cannon is not doing her job. She is acting like another Trump lawyer. We need a different judge to take over the case. Someone that knows what they are doing and is impartial. Vote Biden/Blue all the way down the ballot. Save reproductive healthcare/IVF/birth control. And the federal bench is filled with Republican judges who don't want to remove her. And finally the conservative 11th circuit court would be deciding on her recusal and there is a good chance they are as biased as she is. ( just not as blatant )

Disbarment has zero legal effect on federal judges. Federal judges serve lifetime appointments and can only be removed via the impeachment process.

Smith needs to file a motion for ger to be removed BEFORE a jury is seated. If she dismisses it after jurors are selected, the case cannot ne re-filed.

If she dismisses before the jury is seated, Jack Smith can appeal. She won't do this. Once the jury is seated, double jeopardy attaches and dismissal cannot be appealed. That will be her game.

She acts like this is the first time she's ever done an actual trial..... and it is.

According to the law, obstructing justice IS a crime, and she got slapped down by the 11th circuit for issuing UNLAWFUL orders the last time she got involved in a dump case, so... even the COURT think she's committed a crime. The problem isn't the law. It's the selective enforcement of said law.

A jury of his peers listened to the evidence and decided that Trump was guilty of all 34 counts in the indictment. Judge Engoron also disclosed his daughter’s work prior to the trial, and the powers that be decided that there was no conflict of interest. Finally, I am confident that Judge Engoron is not ininfluenced by his daughter or anyone else for that matter. That is the difference between Judge Engoron and Judge Cannon. Judge Engoron is honourable and ethical. He also knows the case law and went out of his way to apply it fairly. Trump received special treatment in that anyone else who broke a legally justified gag order 10 times would have had their bail revoked and they would have been sent to jail. Judge Engoron did everything he could to keep Trump out of jail. But now that he has been convicted, hopefully Trump gets the pleasure of spending some time in prison. Trump put himself in this position. And it is time that he faced the consequences.

The interesting thing is I have looked at her docket for other cases. She is handling them totally different. 1. Pre-trial motions are generally handled by the Magistrate Judge. She does this in all cases - except the Trump case, for this one she is holding on to complete control over every single aspect of the case, including minor motions that should be handled by the Magistrate Judge 2. She holds monthly status hearings on each case, hears motions, issues opinions the very next day - except in the Trump case 3. She is very much a prosecution friendly judge - except in the Trump case 4. She moves cases along to get them resolved in a timely manner - except the Trump case.

Unfortunately, that isn't a thing. The mechanism for removal is impeachment by the House and conviction by the Senate. Also, the bar to force recusal is very high and Smith needs actual rulings to work with. He could file a writ of mandamus, but that could easily go very wrong.
