In this instance, given we're talking about meth, I think you're right - it's highly unlikely he only uses it once a month. However, there are plenty of people who use hard drugs like MDMA, for example, infrequently. Not all drugs are highly addictive.

I remember this lawyer got into it with Judge Boyd one day. It was funny because he was making a procedural argument and Judge Boyd just kept on saying "No, I'm not doing that." They ended up withdrawing their plea deal, and ultimately this lawyer was able to get Judge Boyd recused from that case and they ending up with another judge who gave his defendant the deal they had previously negotiated. So whenever this particular lawyer is in front of Judge Boyd, it's all business. No smiles, no banter, no jokes. Just serious business.

Even 3 times a week is a lie. I believe he uses meth every single day. I think he will continue using meth and eventually end up in the slammer.

Nothing gets by Judge Boyd. The dude gets some credit for not denying the test results. Hint from Heloise: When getting sentenced for alcohol and drug offenses and asking for leniency, don't show up stoned.

Judge Boyd generally walks that fine line between giving defendants an opportunity and the resources to redeem themselves while not suffering fools lightly.
