@@Catmommy711 This happens all the time, fyi. Just look at Hanna Gutierrez, obviously that evidence was never uncovered for her case. But she'll probably still be in jail for years.
@@takanara7 she was only sentenced to 18 months... Not years, which was the maximum for her charges. Also, if this evidence is exculpatory to her case as well, her conviction will be overturned and a new trial will take place or the charges will be dismissed like they were for Alec.
Hannah's lawyers has this information. It actually hurt her case, why they didn't use it. She got only 18 months. Plus with time served she'll be out in a few months. @@takanara7
Yes it is! How many people are in prison right now due to misconduct and false allegations? Do you think this would have been discovered had it been a regular person who could only afford a public defender? Absolutely not. It should scare the hell out of people! The justice system is a business.
The jury directions and verdict forms are not evidence and should not have affected the outcome of the Karen Read trial. The judge should facilitate clear communication between the jury and the court, so that their verdicts are communicated clearly to the court. The judge was not a facilitator in this case - far from it. I have my own ideas why - but I wonder if these verdict forms can be found now? I completely agree with your comment. I hope that the punishment of Karen Read by the judicial process ends, and she wins mightily in the civil courts.
New Mexico is notorious for unjust, justices, police officers and prosecutors. I believe the whole state needs to be overlooked by the fed by the top cop.
She confused the jury in fulfilling her administrative duties (jury directions and the design of the verdict forms). I agree with you - the judge in the Karen Read case is shameless - she did this even though the the trial was televised. Brave or foolish? And, yes she would not blink an eye.
@@justme9794 Prison is justice for the victim's and their families. Courts are about the defendant's. Making sure they committed the crime they are charged with. Making sure there's nothing weird going on the state would rather cover up. They're not for you to satiate your vicarious bloodlust hearing every ruling go against the defense. So you cheer from home too ignorant to comprehend what you are cheering about. There's something very weird about this case. Seth Kenny, the Sara woman and all the state. I don't know why Seth Kenny was allowed to be caught on body cam pocketing a round at the scene. While telling the cop you shake the dummies and hear the rattle and oh shit look over there. I don't know why he got to lead the investigators and prosecutor around by their noses. I don't know why no one cared when it came out Morrissey not only had privileged communications between Reed and her attorneys but gave them to Seth Kenny on top of everything wrong with that. But there's something really messed up about this situation they just decided to cover up rather than investigate. Cases like this get tossed not on technicalities but because once a prosecutor proves they can't be trusted. You can't trust that they didn't do much worse and were just not caught. Our courts have errored way too far to letting prosecutors like Morrissey run rampant. Innocent people go to prison all the time. Then the same American public that whines about "technicalities" whines instead "how could this be allowed to happen?"
@@georgia4407 She didn't have this "integrity" during the Reed case. It's funny how her "integrity" comes and goes. I do respect her for doing this. But I can't help but notice how differently she was during the Reed case. Maybe her call or Morrissey not only having privileged communications between Reed and her attorney in her possession but also giving them to Seth Kenny just wasn't a bad thing. 😂
The judge really layed it out when she went through the "prongs" of brady violations. And it met every aspect of it. She stuck a fork in morrisy with that.
Compare this judge with Judge Bev. This New Mexico judge and the dismissal just makes it more glaring how many people are conspiring against Karen Read.
Morrissey was very off putting and unlikeable from the get go. I am not surprised she would do this. Just not fair to the victim’s family for not getting true closure. Too many prosecutors seem more concerned about getting a win over getting the right person. Our system has gone far awry.
Mr. Foreman...I've watched multiple attorney's videos on this trial. Yours was by far the best. You provided the most expert commentary and efficiently explained each significant point which I was not getting anywhere else. You should be a paid expert commentator on mainstream media.
I watched the entire case of Hannah and I swear to you they did the same thing to her because it was involving Seth so much he was intertwined even in the video you can see him pocketing bullets choosing the bullets to give to the DA it is blatantly obvious that she got done wrong
She will be overturned, and then she will sue and get PAID, so after all this circus, the paypigs in NM get to fund a new mansion for them, while in the exact same position any one of them would have been given 20 years without blinking an eye.
As a New Mexican IMO this case should have never been brought to begin with. now the question becomes, if a prosecutor does this to a famous celebrity with the best lawyers money can buy, what are they doing to average citizen and what recourse do they have? If the State has any evidence (and they are the ones with the resources to collect it) and they don’t turn that over, then it makes the entire system a joke.
I atill believe the live rounds on set were a set up. On the cart on set, there was a whole box labeled "dummies" and when they opened the box ALL of the bullets were dudds but ONE! How does that happen?
And after questioning...Judge sat there in shock. Eyes and eyebrows physically, involuntarily wide open. Staring straight ahead...She realized the unbeliveably rare but brazen Brady violation occurring in her court.
The judge in this case gave me hope for our justice system. Then I read Lally's motion response to motion to dismiss. Knocked me right back into reality. This is why trials must be shown to the public.
I believe Ms Johnson did not want to have her reputation attached to the corruption ! I don't blame her. She knew Morrisey f'd up & said I'm outta here Exactly Larry !
Yes. She said came in later, around April, after the Hannah case and was unaware of this evidence being withheld. In an interview, she said during the lunch break she suggested to the prosecution group, they dismiss the case, that it wasn’t right, it was proper procedure, yada yada, and they told her “No.” When they came back from lunch, and Morrisey took the stand to try and defend/talk her way out, that’s when Johnson said she couldn’t be apart of this, walked up the judge and resigned.
I have seen this Prosecutor Morrissey once before.. and disliked her right away.. its indeed interesting that in the end.. she was indeed bad person.. hid evidence.. selfish.. wanted to win at any cost.. even hiding exculpatory evidence. I read her bad vibes the first time i watched her on one of those online court processes.
I've never even heard of a prosecutor taking the stand. She was definitely trying to save her own career not the case. I would be shocked if she isn't dragged before the bar and her license isn't in peril.
It seems that over the last 8 years there has been a very significant shift in the culture of the DA’s and local Prosecutors. Decisions on which cases to prosecute. The lack of separation between police and the courts. Manipulation of law and jurisprudence to lay charges. We need to push back. Misconduct such as this needs to be addressed with serious consequences and be made public. Law needs to be written clearly and specific. The ambiguity in the law is how lawyers win and lose and that is not ok. Law needs to be objective or as objective as it can be. There is too much nuance.
Thanks for your great coverage by both you and Chandler! It was great Chandler was reading your X tweets so we had minute to minute coverage of the Court! Hope y'all have a nice weekend in New Mexico! 😊
I felt as soon as I heard they were going to keep going after him that something was off. This became a mission of egos and pride by the prosecutors. The prosecutors made it personal against Baldwin all to make a name for themselves. Regardless where anyone stands on whether Baldwin was at fault or not..the prosecutors deserve to be disbarred and fined.
@@interestedparty00orchestrated by the prosecution? I think it's possible that the defense found out about the Brady information earlier in the week, but waited to bring it up when they were confident they could get a dismissal on the Brady violation??
Really angers me that our civil servants would keep evidence away from the defense. They wanted to find him guilty for their own careers vs find the truth. How could you sleep at night knowing someone is in prison because you held evidence. Shameful people.
That's simple. I talked to a lawyer about that before. They justify if by saying the people behind bars are 'bad' people and deserve anything. Which is twisted.
It's about time a judge doesn't cover up for prosecutors and cops skullduggery. These people should act morally and professionally, but most will do anything for conviction. Perjury is a walk in the park for these types. This judge wasn't having it!
And the thing is, because it's with Predjudice, Mr. Baldwin, CANNOT BE RECHARGED AT ALL! Best Regards from a Retired Paramedic in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
Morrissey ran roughshod over the entire courtroom in the HGR trial but she got her ass handed to her today! She annoyed me so much and I felt like she and Hancock were so shady. Today confirmed it and Popple was basically their minion. I never imagined this bizarre outcome in a million years.
I agree! I really couldn’t stand her in HGR trial and I was glad that Baldwin’s attorneys stood up to her and her shenanigans. Good for them finding her shadiness!
The loaded cartridges being filed under a different case and different evidence. That happened during the Reed trial. Way, way, way before her claimed just finding out this morning. She lied under oath about when she became aware of the cartridges. I think at some point all these women realized they were played by Seth Kenny. But instead of coming clean they just decided to help him further cover things up. Here's the best part. After the Reed trial body cam video came out. It showed Kenny "helping" the detectives. He picked up a "dummy" and while shaking it and explaining it should rattle realized it didn't. He then pocketed it. All caught on body cam. It's a great oh shit moment and it's kinda sad it didn't get more attention.
I’m in no way a AB fan or his political beliefs, but protecting our court system is so important. It’s law enforcements and prosecutions jobs to make sure the trial is fair. This case should absolutely be dismissed.
Larry, it would be really cool if you could ask locals what they think about this! I saw a video where this local man said people wanted to see Baldwin brought to justice. I’m curious how they are taking today’s events. I hope you and Chandler enjoy your time! You’ll always remember you two were there, they will talk about this for years!
Im telling you the prosecutors in this country need a revamp cause morrisy and lally are just proving there are innocent people in jail because of corrupt prosecutors
Words can't even explain. THE MOST GRIPPING Lawtube vid I've ever seen!! I was on replay crew. Was 3 hours behind on EDB's channel and NBC broke with the dismissal. Your notification popped and so did I. Your breakdown was fantastic. Brought a ton of clarity. Thank you!
Hello Larry the prosecutor who resigned from the Baldwin trial has spoken out on line , she made a lot of sense , the coverage you do about trials is brilliant as usual also it’s great to see you so happy in your personal life 👍👍💜💜💜👍👍👍
I knew I freaking hated the blonde lady from the state (Morrisy) for a reason. Cosby, Weinstein & now Baldwin. Why are all the famous criminals getting released due to Prosecutorial misconduct?
I was on the fence about this case. But I have to say Kari really put me off as a zealous atty even in HG trial. Incredibly condescending and rude which now I know she is shady as 💩!!! Wow
Even if the prosecution was honest and upfront, they had no business prosecuting him. Alec had what he thought was a movie prop. There was no negligence on his part. Now, if he was an NRA instructor or former cop, that would be a different story. The sole blame rested with the armorer who was convicted.
About the only good, somewhat organized courtroom outcomes we've seen is Deep, and Rittenhouse. In last few yrs. All these live streamed trials have either exposed or are part of the problem with modern jurist prudence. I don't think we have fully grasped the power of the live chats while the trial goes on... you can't convince me that jury's aren't seeing any of that info???
My faith has definitely been gone, EXCEPT for the jurors who have come forward in the Karen Read trial. Otherwise, I think prosecutors and law enforcement are slimy as hell.
I think Alec & wife were hugging because Alec was telling his family that the prosecution offered no jail time, etc but his lawyer told him not to take it.
I would only watch Stream channels that felt Alec Baldwin was a victim too.. I realize it takes a special kind of weirdo to be a good actor so Alec's bizarre behavior did not sway me in any direction... I believe there was possibly a hateful human that set him up and felt his attorney was going in that direction BUT BOY I never thought it would be STATE !! I am Shocked...
AB was apparently aware that Hannah had brought live rounds on set. For that reason, one could argue that he should have checked the gun himself. But the defense suggested that Kenny had mistakenly brought live rounds on the set, mislabeling them. If AB had seen the round taken from a box marked "dummies," he wouldn't have had a rationale to check the gun. Kenny's error would also absolve Hannah of wrongdoing, too.
The armorer case should also be dismissed with prejudice. Every case under the Santa Fe DA office is now suspect. Talk about a sh*tshow. I hope they prosecute everybody who conspired these 2 trials.
Q: did you ever pop onto EDB Livestream as a guest like you was during the AH vs Depp case? 😂 Larry had a brain Fart 35:55 haha 🤣 SEARCH WARRANT……. 😂 aww Larry your truly one in a trillion ❤ never ever change. We all love and live for our DUI Guy+ Larry Foreman ❤❤ Thanks so much for covering this trial in person. ❤❤❤
I love his knowledge and learn a lot watching his pointing out when lawyers screw up, but his personality just keeps me so engaged! I love he doesn't act so prim and proper and watching his language 😂 he calls it ass he sees it, and sometimes when he's shocked a curse word just flies out😂😂😂 He's out kind of people, not pretentious at all, and that's endearing to me. I love Chandler too! She's a ride or die for Larry and I love it! She's also smart and beautiful as well. ( A great match for him!)❤❤❤
Way to go, judge! By the grace of God, the State's plan to foil Baldwin backfired! I didn't think he was guilty to begin with, and I'm happy for the man.
As someone who has reloaded pistol and rifle ammunition, they don't always make a noise when shaken. Some rounds are even compression loaded where the bullet presses the powder into the cartridge.
Something has been bothering me about Morrissey‘s actions. She refused to deal, she went against her co-council to the point that her co-council resigned then she took the stand after being told she didn’t have to almost encouraged not to is it possible for somebody to be that arrogant or did she have some false sense of security because she’s done this many times before and always gotten away with it
