That witness flew to LA and whatever studio this show is filmed at, knowingly ready to lie for the defendant. He is an idiot, a loyal friend that is ready to lie in court but nonetheless an idiot...
As she should have! He got off easy. He should have been ticketsed for not having insurance. He is a classic entitled ahole, who thinks his time is more valuable than other people's lives.
I know there was at least one case where the guy she called was asleep. So he gets woken up by a random phone call. And it's "Hello this is Judge Judy Scheidlin." That would be one of the most sobering wake up calls ever.
Defendant to police: “I have Nationwide” Defendant to Judge Judy: “I’ve been with USAA for 17 years” Also Defendant: “I didn’t have insurance at the time” What a clown😂
This case is Judge Judy gold. She didn't even wait to hear the damages before awarding the plaintiff the maximum amount. Not only was the defendant guilty, he was driving without insurance and brought a witness who was clearly there just to lie under oath. Add to that the plaintiff was organized, well-spoken and prepared. This was a no brainer for JJ once she had the witness testimony. I also loved how the defendant's witness didn't even get to say a word but still got called an idiot LOL
Don't forget he also apparently lied to police and said he had Nationwide insurance. And to top it off muttering "excessive" when she said she was going 40-45 mph. I hope this clown enjoyed showing his entire ass to 10 million people.
@@latentgamer5762 driving with out insurance is idiotic so deserves a penalty on that fact alone. Coupled with how he drives if this happened in Europe he would have at the very least a 3 year driving ban and possible jail time along with a hefty fine.
@@latentgamer5762it does though... it shows your responsibility as a driver. If you're willing to break the law by driving without insurance, you're far more likely to break other laws - and as it turns out he did just that, by going around the witness at the light - and that's what caused the accident.
She'll curse you out over the phone as well. There was a case where she had to call the insurance company for an accident and JJ was not having it with those people
Something about his smirk when she went to call them told me he was guilty! And then to find out he went AROUND the person in front of him to make the turn...just WOW! He should get his license pulled too!
Yea, I thought maybe he speed through on a yellow way to late or something, to hear he went on a full red and going around a person in front of him, how is this not in the police report is my question. Police did not want to do their job that day, got the witness's information but didn't check to see if he was insured or right her eye witness testimony down.
@@DivusMagus that's probably why he didn't have insurance. It's amazing how crazy some people drive and then complain about rates being too high. I live in one of the most expensive states to have auto insurance but pay a reasonable rate for full coverage because I don't dive like an idiot (going around a stopped car to try to make a left on a red light? Hello!)
@@garfieldsmith332that's if the Defendent does, in fact, have insurance now. Somehow I'm doubting he has insurance. Like you said, his premiums would be extremely high, for one, having a lapse in coverage, two, he's a high risk client.
People break Financial Responsibility Laws on a daily basis, and then expect fault or no-fault to apply in a manner to where an uninsured driver gets away without repercussion. Idiots. Well done Judge Judy. 😄
Yeah. You are pretty much automatically in the wrong even if the accident wasn't physically your fault. This guy is a dumbass. The plaintiff is lucky she wasn't killed.
@@LogoMan7777 Totaled car = max she can give out... Numbers no where near what JJ could offer, but hey any little bit helps and 5k is a good down payment.
This guy had a lot of nerve to try to make her look like she was doing something wrong. People like him who are clearly wrong and take absolutely no responsibility for their actions are the most dangerous kind of people.
You are absolutely correct. These are the people who scare me. The ones who can lie to anyone at their face and not care about their actions/repercussions.
Guarantee he’s still driving around with no insurance. I wish JJ would call them out in that too. That smirk on his face said everything about that liar.
@@Joanne152 It’s the same here, it’s just that people just don’t have it anyway. Then the penalties are a slap on the wrist, so there’s no incentive to follow the law. Also the show pays the judgements, so he hasn’t been punished in any way.
Judge Judy, you have no idea how calming it is to see justice dispensed in a quick and precise manner. In a world full of injustice and chaos, the order in your courtroom has always been a tonic. Thank you Judge Judgy!
I love the fact that the plaintiff was clear, to the point showing what happened. The witness that Judge Judy called told it exactly the way it happened. The defendant brings a witness whose either going to lie or tells the truth and if he tells the truth the defendant is toast. It’s so comical!!😂😂
It just goes to show you why it is so important for you to be patient when you take to the road. Apparently, the defendant was impatient and decided to make his left turn regardless of who had the right of way. Bottom line, the person driving straight ALWAYS has the right of way on the green light; if you are making a turn, you NEED TO WAIT. He's not the only driver out there that has demonstrated impatience, and unfortunately, he won't be the last.
He was trying to say he had the green arrow im which case he would have the right away and those going straight would have a red light. The witness showed he was lying.
And he wasn't the next car to turn left, he was the second car and cut off the car in front of him, causing the plaintiff to hit him since she obviously wouldn't have seen it fast enough.
@@hashbrowns Exactly. The plaintiff stated that there wasn't enough time for her to hit the brakes, so she had no choice but to brace for impact, and I can only imagine how scared she was. I cannot believe the defendant brought his witness and assumed that he was going to save his skin. What a jerk!
If I got a random phone call from Judge Judy, she'd probably hang up immediately, because I'd be freaking out. Also, I hate the Defendant's smug look for not having insurance. He should have his license revoked.
The problem with revoking the license is that he would still drive the same way he was driving without insurance. And without the license he cannot get insurance even if he wanted it so he would still be driving with no insurance either.
Literally the same thing happened to me recently. My mom was driving me to the hospital for another injury !!! Same exact accident and the man lied and said he had insurance!!!! One witness of 5 actually gave me her information to contact her...and we also had footage from street cameras. I think I'm going to bring his behind on here because he definitely doesn't have the money to pay out of pocket. It's ridiculous ‼️‼️‼️
smart move; because the show will pay you - if you keep it in your local Small Claims Court and he doesn't have the $ after you are awarded the settlement, it's a lot of work to actually get the money
If you have no insurance it doesnt even matter if the other person COULD have been at fault. YOU are at fault because logic says without insurance, registration, a license, ect.... you are NOT SUPOSE TO BE ON THE ROAD PERIOD. And the fact that he was just an impatient idiot as well as a liar with zero insurance just makes it worse.
Exactly. I once made a bad decision and drove drunk, ran a stop sign and smashed into the back passenger side of a ladys car where her kid was in a carseat. What was left of the kid after the accident looked like a tube of hamburger exploded in the back of the car. I had insurance but she had let hers lapse, so thankfully my conscience was clear about the kid because she shouldn't have been driving.
@tate6809 , if I were drinking and driving and killed someone's child(which didn't need that graphic description), my conscience certainly wouldn't be clear because they didn't have insurance. What is wrong with you?
So funny when JJ calls people at home and she’s always so gentle and polite, lmao. I would prefer if I got a JJ call she would be all “LISTEN TO ME” and “BALONEY!”
the real reason baseball bats were invented, was for people with a smirk like that guy. since Judy didnt have a bat, she hit him in the face with 5k without even knowing the cost of the damage lol. God i love her
Unfortunately the type of person to drive without car insurance and cut people off from behind at intersections is probably also the type of person to never pay their debts. I would not be surprised if this is not the only judgement against him.
This will get paid because the show pays the money. I think you're right, people like that have no responsibility, she would not get paid if she had gone to regular court.
I would say that was so embarrassing for the defendant and his witness but something tells me neither of them have any moral/social compass to feel any shame.
Yup! Happened to me actually. I was driving home from having to go get whatever my wife needed. Still have no clue what it is… thanks wife. I’m at a red light. The lane to my left is a turning lane. Well the huge red van floors it in reverse and smacks the keep behind her. Then gets out and tries to fight the woman in the jeep. I spoke about watching it… the look on her face. And I recorded all of it. The guy in the black challenger in front of me also saw everything. Me and him exchange information in a gas station and we drove back to the scene. But at the entrance of the turn lane. We both recorded everything we saw . I gave my information to the woman in the Jeep and so did the guy in the challenger when we went back to the scene. Well I called police and they thought I was doing a prank call. The guy in the challenger also called. He got hung up on. So we both drove off knowing we gave our info and the woman driving the Jeep, she called her husband to come. He came and we left. 4 months later! I get a call from judge Judy. She asked about the incident and i told her i have multiple videos of it on my phone and so does the guy in the black challenger. Judge Judy asked if i witnessed it and I told her everything. She actually called the other guy and he said the same. Both of us offered to show up with our phones to show the videos we took. The woman at fault claimed nobody witnessed it. The look on her face when I walked in and the other guy walked in 2 minutes after me. We played the videos we took. Defendant didn’t win. Judge Judy destroyed her. I never saw the case on tv so I’m guessing it’s 1 that never made it to tv but if my wife didn’t send me to a store for a random item and the other guy was sent out by his fiancé , who knows what would have happened. Me and the other guy talk sometimes on Facebook every now and then.
@@penguinZ85 yeah. Unfortunately at any stop , red lights included, people do put their car in reverse to have it appear like he or she got rear ended. To anyone that sees this. If you can, get a dashcam. It protects you and others if you see a crash because sometimes the 1 at fault gets away Scott free.
I am glad you did not hang up on Judge Judy thinking it is a prank call, I am glad the defendant did not win and you and the other guy did a great job being witnesses and saved the woman in the jeep life in court or defendant would have won
This man literally said “No ma’am” to police doing a routine protocol. Police asking for registration and insurance is like a McDonald’s worker asking what can they started for you 😂
As a black man I’m going to say two things…first I’m appalled by the defendants. Sooo embarrassing like we’re supposed to be standing up for women and every time I see a black brother on this show they’re acting like FOOLSSS 🙄 Second, I was like please don’t be in Atlanta and sure enough 🤦🏾♂️
I can tell from the road names this is Atlanta. The amount of times I’ve had someone whip around me because they got tired of waiting in a turn lane is insane.
How have you been with usaa for 17 years but don’t have insurance at the year of this accident. Do you have insurance or not? People are so ridiculous! Same nonsense happened to me and the other driver came out with all kind of excuse “you were going fast” “I had on my indicator” “the damage was there before” just own up to the incident and go about your day! Why lie?!
We were recently travelling with my son who witnessed an accident right in front of him. The driver who caused the accident got out and approached the other driver with an attitude. My son stayed and gave his info. Nobody else stopped so the driver in the wrong would probably bullied his way out of it. 🇨🇦
The same thing happened to me. A girl in the turning lane on her cell phone proceeded to turn left without looking and hit the side of my car going straight. she lied and said she had a green light and I ran the red. The person behind her gave their testimony that she had lost the arrow and I had the green. She also lied that she was not on her phone. However, my lawyer told her lawyer that he would get her phone records. She paid for my totaled truck. People are liars to save their butts.
