This guys was SOOOOOO STUPID! I LOVE how Judge Boyd called him out for turning them away when he was supposed to get his assessment and now he’s griping because he had to be in prison for six months and didn’t wanna wait another six months and then the idiot ended up getting eight years because he was too impatient! When the state tells you…DON’T TAKE THE DEAL…..YEAH…DON’T take the deal!!

@@ivyqueen9198 yes his attorney said it, but the state also said it because when Judge Boyd asked for the states input, the state even said that he shouldn’t take the deal… I think he said something to the fact about think about what he’s doing before he decides to take the deal.

This goes as a solid example of how short sighted, stupid and impulsively selfish criminals are and why they are their own worst enemies. I bet he goes to prison thinking they would not help him but clearly it’s his way or nothing. I love when Judge Boyd says that if you could “write your own program” you would not be before her court. Her understanding of criminal behavior is a valuable trait to her law acumen as a judge.

Some do because they know that they have absolutely no self control on the outside. In the absence of drugs, prison provides an external source of control. They actually feel a sense of comfort in that.

No he didn’t, because his lawyer said he agreed to outpatient treatment, and that was never a part of the deal. He was too full of himself to see the drug treatment people when they came and then he got mad that he was in there waiting six months and didn’t feel like he had to wait another six months, but he’s the one that turned them away and now he got eight years cause he’s an idiot!

Seems like an inherently violent person who believes his ability to deal out attacks makes him immune to the rules of society. He's not very smart and seems unlikely to change. The courts are going to be putting him behind bars again and again and again. I hope he doesn't kill or severly injure anyone in the process.

So, the defence attorney did a bad job in the allocution, but she was obviously pissed that he didn't want that DDRF. I guess in patient is way better than 8 years prison, but something has made him so unhappy with probation that he thought prison was better. I guess he'll find out if his choice suits him, I mean he was in prison, so he knew what to expect.

Can't stand how Judge Boyd uses cases as examples for the existing case.... "I have people stand before me and ......", " Some people say...." Its nothing to do with this case. Treat each case as individual
@CrankyPantss

I agree with you. Preconceived notions do not belong. “Ted, Tim, and Tom wore black shoes when they robbed a bank and since you have black shoes on, either you did already rob a bank or either you will rob a bank in the future.” Also, why does she always say the word “either” before both choices?
@handyandqu
@handyandqu 3 месяца назад
She can't give advice and she is not going to say what she will do because that would influence the person's decision as she would be manipulating the decision a person would make. The only option she has is to give examples of things that have happened to previous people. Some of it is telling the lawyer what her intentions are, then the lawyer in the time out tells the client an interpretation of what the judge is likely to do, the lawyer is giving advice not the judge. The defense lawyers response and prosecutor both got the hints and tried telling the guy, listen theae are the options and this is the "better" one. Defendant was like I don't want to wait, because he's impatient or just doesn't want to deal with other people and chooses the static option where he doesn't have to do anything, so he's like I'll just take the prison. She tells him you get all time served so he said he was in two years already so 8 is actually 6 at this point. If he chose the other option she would be in prison and then moved to that in patient program which he wouldn't know the result of for 6 or more months. If they didn't choose him, I don't know what the result was, but likely some time in jail. There is probably a rule for reductions so he may not even serve the rest of the 6, and would be out with. I probation from what it sounds like. If the program is in patient he may get thought the program and at the end be on probation if he violates he's back looking at 8 years and credit for time served. If you have no intentions of trying to stay sober or not reporting taking the time is smarter. She often gives options to what I would call a poisoned pill, if you stay clean it's great if you don't you are going to bounce in and out for decades with parole violations. Great if you pull it off, terrible if you can't.
