226th District Court Judge Velia Meza sentenced Christian Moreno to 18 years in prison and Abilene Schnieder was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a dog attack that killed an elderly man.
I didn’t watch this case everyday but that’s the one thing I noticed, no remorse whatsoever. Well they have a few years to think about what they allowed to happen. I’m so glad the judge also ordered that they are never to own another dog again! Wonder how these two would feel if that was their mother standing there giving an impact statement because of someone else’s dog????? Such an awful painful way to die too.
I really hope they do not get released sooner. Those two terrorized that neighborhood then ended that innocent man’s life and left a traumatized family. May God Bless the Najera family
Defiant right to the end. My heart goes out to Mrs. Najera. She's suffered a loss difficult to comprehend. I'm so proud of this judge who's been blessed with discernment. Something needs to be done about vicious dogs all across the country who are largely ignored by animal control until it's too late.
@@watsonspuzzle Right these dogs should be outlawed in the United states period!! These two owners all throughout the whole thing could have cared less.
You got that right! They should be banned from every city in America. Its not fair that this neighborhood was terrorized by these two idiots and their dogs. To bad it took an innocent man losing his life to stop the terrorizing. Hopefully other pitbull owners will see this and keep their dogs under control. I’m so glad they were given more than probation or 2 years behind bars. I’m sure they will get out early but at least they can never own a dog again.
What a waste of lives the old man died and these couple will spend 15to 17 yrs in jail had they been responsible dog owners this situation should no have occurred
Well I'm glad this judge saw right through these two ignorant people. I feel so bad for this mother wife she is just so heartbroken, I'm glad she has family to help her get through this. The judge gave a appropriate sentence it'll give these two idiots time to reflect what their dogs did I can't believe they didn't show a bit of remorse that's just sickening!!
I've been waiting for this verdict. This poor woman watched her husband being killed by these vicious animals and survived the attack herself. The owners knew the dogs were dangerous and even paid hefty fines to get them released from previous attacks. These appear to be fight dogs and the couple was breeding more. They not only showed no remorse they laughed during the trial. San Antonio is about to pay big for their negligence.
@@cristymckinney685 You keep posting this when people have instructed you that your statement is not correct and given these horrific circumstances perhaps you should stop posting this falsehood?
Everybody thinks their pitbull is an angel sent down from heaven. _"I raised mine from a puppy."_ That's what they all say. _"It's how you raise them."_ Everybody says their pitbull is an angel sent down from heaven. They say their pitbull was trained at West Point. No way their sweet baby would hurt a flee. They all say the same thing. The most ignorant pitbull lovers actually have the audacity to compare the fear of pitbulls to racism. Heaven help us. How many people have to be butchered by these dogs before they are finally outlawed in residential areas. If you want a pitbull, buy some acreage in the country far from other innocent people and never bring it into the city or around other people who don't want to be killed.
@@jeff_the_killer999 Do you not know what it means when a sentence is put in quotation marks? Strange that you use a laughing emoji with such a serious topic.
TY so much Judge. A long time SA resident, I thank you from the deepest part of my heart. These dogs are a danger to society, and anyone stupid enough to argue that, given known facts, are no doubt a danger to society as well.
This could have been prevented but the lack of respect is why this couple will spend time in jail and this sweet old woman without the love of her life 😥
You can see it in their persona that they don’t give a f what they’re hearing as they already know that their sht is waiting for them in prison. They all loose here. Be responsible if you’re going to be a pet owner.
My beloved 76yr old Aunt was mauled in San Diego and died fr her horrific injuries 7 months later on Christmas Eve. NO FAMILY should ever go through this tragedy. Unfort their defendants only rec’d 4yrs w/early release. Prayers🛐to you Señora for much Strength💜
Even on my street and I live in the County there were loose dogs. Not anymore because of this case but the problem of people who walk big dogs who clearly can't handle them. They walk them around the neighborhood and have them do their business on other people lawn's. People like these are not responsible pet owners and subject other people to possible dangerous situations. The County (Bexar) doesn't answer or care when you call to complain about what's going on.
So they’ll see parole in what two years? It’s not aggravated. I’m sure they’ll be set off a couple of times but they won’t serve the full I think. I’m strongly hoping against that. They need to serve a hefty part of it. Obviously the pos dude doesn’t care. No remorse. No care. Flashing signs in court.
I agree with everyone else.. 18 and 15 years is NOT enough! Especially with the ability to get Parole! These 2 MURDERED that man with their dogs and through the whole case they showed zero remorse! There is a special place in Hell for those 2! Now she needs to go after the City because they are just as guilty for turning a blind eye!! God Bless the wife and may she find strength to move forward! ❤
That piece of human filth, that found he needed to flash his gang signs in court, doesn’t surprise me. You are seeing exactly who he is. That judge should have added an extra 10 yrs added to his sentence for each time he disrespected her courtroom, the family of the victim and all affected by this so very unnecessary and extremely tragic death! May this victim rest peacefully. Condolence and empathy for his wife, his family, his friends and all touched by this tragedy.
Thanks to monsters like this, haven’t walked my dogs in over 10 years in my neighborhood. We haven’t progressed as a society if we let our animals run rampant and terrorize our neighbors that we need to love because we all share our community.
Very sad story. Horrific…great judge. I hope the law suits pending for the city will also be a victory…How many times neighbors called previous to this man’s death….and did nothing! My heart breaks for the wife…I can’t imagine helplessly watching my loved one being attacked.😥🙏
The people that attack pitbull owners . Are just braindead . However you must control your dog at all times . If you cant control your dog . Dont have one period!!
People can't even survive long-distance relationships. That was definitely the last kiss he will ever gave her. She has inmates waiting for that, on cell speed dial.
too bad that womans words dont mean a thing to those two, the nerve of that scumbag to flash a sign as he was handcuffed. Maybe he will meet some jailhouse justice
Usually, the victim impact statements occur BEFORE sentencing, even in plea bargain cases. The judge can refuse the bargain for plea and is not bound by it.
I happen to know a little sign language. It might be a little rusty but I think his sign said something along the lines of “My sinkhole is in deep trouble”
They didn't give AF... no emotion at all except him kissing her and chucking up a hand sign. Well damn if I got 18 years or 15 years.... man 18 minutes my knees would have buckled a little, years and I'm making a run for it!
