Well not want to open a can a worms but there have been recent examples of really horrible people gaining public support . Im sure that isn’t lost on people like DB.
I think DB really thought a segment of the community was going to support him. If you noticed when the detectives were questioning him they were very interested on his feelings of oppression. I’m not saying it played a part but the detectives thought it might be. Again I think he thought a certain segment would support him.

I, as a member of the public, have absolutely no problem that he had a shock device on his ankle. My only complaint is that the shock device was not used every time he wasted the courts time.
Always remember, Darrell Brooks didn’t have a single person come to the courtroom in show of support his ENTIRE TRIAL. Not one family member came. No friends. None of his children. None of his kid’s moms. Nobody came the entire month. Not one day. This guy lived 40 years and terrorized every single person who met him. His own mother lived in the same city and still didn’t even drive to the courtroom for the sentencing. That’s how much he was hated.
And then on top of that, when they asked about his mom, he made the statement that she would definitely be there and she never showed up. Now she did say something at his sentencing hearing but she never showed up for him to question her in the case.
I literally cracked up laughing when he told the judge that “20 or more” people would be coming to speak in support of him at sentencing 😂😂😂 I think he truly believed that…what a fool. He is a waste of space.
The judge was smart enough not to ask “By whom” she knew the irrelevancy of it, and that it would just open more doors for him to try to delay and falsify.
I am almost just as boggled to the fact he thought anyone would BELIEVE him. Even if people cared, they wouldn't believe him because he's lied throughout the entire process

It’s a good thing I live across the country & couldn’t be there because I definitely would have gotten kicked out & probably jailed for contempt! I agree Billy, I believe DB has abused his family terribly especially the women. His mom is probably celebrating that he can’t threaten her any longer. Now she will have to deal with all the collect calls from jail. I think there may be some physical abuse but definitely psychologically. He’s a mess.
His mother should be sued for giving the keys to him knowing full well that he had no drivers license and knowing full well he ran over Erika Patterson three weeks prior to the attack.
It would be fair to say that As a Wisconsin citizen I would be thrilled if he had shock cuffs on. And as a taxpayer I would require a test run of those cuffs live on TV.
I know this video is 6 months old, but at the time I did a little research and discovered that only 2 counties in WI use 'shock shackles' and Waukesha Co. IS NOT one of them. If you go back to some if the earliest videos taken during the very first days of the trial you will find videos where the camera panned around, behind Darrell Brooks, while he is wearing orange jail clothes, and if you zoom in you can clearly see what shackles he is chained with. AND THEY ARE 'SOFT SHACKLES'! Go and find the video evidence for yourself, you can find pictures of 'soft shackles' and 'shock shackles' if you Google them, and compare for yourself. Nothing about the events of 11/21/2021 has changed this man in the slightest. He is damaged goods, angry and heartless.
Not only that, the way he explained them was stupid. He says that if he moves to one side or if he moves to the other side that he'll be shocked. They activate at the discretion of the judge. The judge tells the deputy or whoever has the actual button, to activate the shackles therefore shocking him to the ground.
He said 20 or more people were going to show up and speak on his behalf. That people were traveling from other states to come and speak to the court. Only 3 people showed up on Zoom for him. The audacity to think people were going to go out of their way for him. Good riddance to this POS.
Not one supporter or family member, friends, rap buddies , gang members, children, girlfriend came to court to support this weasel. What made him think 20 or more people would speak on his behalf. Sad to have lived a life that was not supported. The if it please the court, and I'm not interrupting am crap after interrupting, and defiance is just nauseating.
I love how dismissive she is during this hearing. She cuts him off and doesn't give an inch. Especially when she's joking with the deputy, and he tries his usual interrupting bs, and she acts like he's not even there. So, he knows and has to sit while the smarter, more important adults in the room talk and ignore him. Everyone goes on with their lives and he gets to rot.
See that's why she kept giving him so much leeway. In order to learn his mannerisms, his greatest hits, how he says something and what he says, she has to let him loose. Because if you notice around the what 12th or 11th day of the trial? She recognized his tails. She reads him like a poker player. And now she knows how to start playing him against himself. And eventually he gets to the point that he's lost all of his rights and the only thing he could do is spit the same nonsense over and over again. It's like somebody said, when she started bucking back at him, he didn't know how to react. So all he did was do what he could repeat over and over again.
The trial is over. Verdict is handed down, jury has gone home. Nothing now can be whined about and he can’t threaten “this will get him an appeal.” We’ve learned a lot. I’ve researched a lot. He doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of having an appellate judge giving permission for him to be granted an appeal. So she can take off the kid gloves and take total control of her court and this circus he drug them all into.
He did NOT have a shock device. He is such an outrageous liar. And she EXPLAINED why the restraint system would remain sealed. He lied about the letters, he lied about the pictures, he lied about his attempting to call EP 37 times.

To be fair it was possible. Criminal defendants in custody can be Shackled or cuffed or vested with a device called a bandit which is capable of a 5000 volt shock. However if it was testified to the contrary then that indeed makes or rather keeps Brooks a liar

I found it hilariously funny that he didn't understand why the other court scheduled two separate charges for trial on the same day. Hey de-rail it's most likely that they have been following this trial? And they knew better than to have to deal with you on two different days.
@@corky3550 I've heard though hope it won't happen, he has a rare extreme rare chance of appeal granted down the road. He has upcoming trials for charges against him prior to the parade attack. I watched pre trial updates on both from two weeks ago. Both are set for additional updates in March. 1 shots fired 2 running over Erika's leg and injuring her. He had attorneys and negotiations with the DA are on going. His attorney said DB might be pro SE next time. Negotiation is not going well with either case. Court is pushing for conviction on the other charges. This way if the extreme rare chance of appeal to become reality he'd still be incarcerated and stay in prison. Until appeal is complete and overturned he will never get out. Appeal overturned ( he continues to serve his original sentence.

The government should create a system on the holidays where you are allowed, at the cost of 1 dollar per time, to activate the shock collar for one second on an criminal who was elected by the people to have this occur. I've read that he was released from other charges and sentencing due to his SOVEREIGN mess. The other court didn't want to deal with him and his BS so they let him off. And the other 10-12 jail and prison stays didn't help him learn

It can’t believe how cavalier he is about the fact that this is a murder trial plus all if 60+ cases of injury. I also think he’s talking about all 3 trials he is scheduled for as if they were tv shows for scheduling! It’s a relief knowing he will be locked up forever.
It seems like the judge is relieved, she honestly looks like 100lbs were lifted off her shoulders. She knows she is so close to not having to deal with him anymore and she doesn't have to watch every little thing to make 1000% sure there's no way he could get a mistrial or judicial misconduct. I know people said she was too soft or let him run over her but we all won. He's gonna rot in prison and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it.

It still shocks me how this man constantly wanted to be treated like the victim when he took lives and has caused so much trauma to so many people. It’s really heartbreaking and pray that God gives peace to all those directly affected by this horrible situation. My prayers for everyone. And I also pray that oneday this man will ask God for forgiveness and that he will oneday take responsibility for all the pain that he has caused. #Sad
