“But God’s fairness is not his final words for us. God is rich in mercy. He sends another judge to his unfaithful and undeserving people-Jesus. Jesus does not get what he deserves, he gets what we deserve. He absorbs the fairness we deserve an an act of willing and humble sacrifice. He ends the retribution we’ve earned and justifies everyone who accepts his leadership. He welcome us into his kingdom where the only thing left for us is mercy ” 🤍🥲
May God bless you for sharing this! Just what I needed to hear. I was reading Judges 9 and wanted further clarification and I was sent to this video!! Spoke deeply to me and encouraged me to study further. Thank you 😊
Thankyou for this Resource, I had a Word from God today ……. “ABIMELECH “ I had no idea what this Meant? Thankyou for your explanation , thankfully Jesus 👑🤴🕊
I was wondering if this story and Jael killing Sisera a few chapters earlier were pictures of the seed of woman crushing the head of the serpent prophecy from Genesis. Do you have any thoughts on this?
The makers of the video read Judges 8:30-31 as saying that Abimelech was Gideon's 71st son, a son from a concubine, who was counted separately from the sons of Gideon's wives.
Typology in Judges 9 [Judges 9:48 KJV] And Abimelech gat him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that [were] with him; and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took it, and laid [it] on his shoulder, and said unto the people that [were] with him, What ye have seen me do, make haste, [and] do as I [have done]. Zalmon means shadow perhaps relating the context as a shadow of Jesus Christ and the gospel. And Shechem means shoulder. Jesus said: [Luke 9:23 KJV] And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. [Judges 9:28 KJV] And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who [is] Abimelech, and who [is] Shechem, that we should serve him? [is] not [he] the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him? Gaal means to loathe and Ebed means servant whereas Hamor means ass or donkey. The back of the donkey is cross-shaped. thebiblewheel.blogspot.com/2024/05/typology-in-judges-9.html
