i wonder if the green has to do with the plumbob being green. and the 🤢mixing of green and blue🤢 would probably be bc their whole ui is blue so it’s like their ✨color scheme✨ 😪

11:28 the landscape is in the back because he has the hydrophobic trait in The Sims 3 so basically their idea was (and I think it's mentioned in the family description) that he bulldozed the swimming pool so those are weeds (?) but the water slide is still there. Also his house (and a bunch of others) has this part over the garage with hall-walls or foundation - anyway, I couldn't replicate or change it myself cause it seems like they used some tricks to pull it off. I myself haven't seen most of the houses' insides but for the regular gameplay most of them look just fine and interesting on the outside, so at least there's that 😄 Looking forward to the part 2! Btw what skin tone replacement are you using for sims?
Oh good I’m glad there’s some sort of reason, I thought “poor future dirk” haha. Yes many houses look great from the outside, which is the lesser of two evil I think. I forget which skins I have but I’ll check when I get home from work x

Tbh, I didn't like how they used sims from the previous game just to play on nostalgia, cause it doesn't make sense that Dirk moved to that small house in Pleasantview with his wife if he had such a huge house - clearly he would've had enough money to buy something as big
Also totally agree i hate it when houses in the sims dont have showers, especially in the desert ???? Like as a person living in a tropical country and frequently went to a desert country icannot fathom taking a bath instead of a shower grrrrr
Adorable Abode was the first house I played in LP. Renovated the house, changed sims in cas for hours all to be wiped out by a meteor within a few minutes of actually playing. And I forgot to save. I haven't revisited the town since 😭🤣
20:40 that’s a fat zero, how they furnished those yards makes literally no sense. Why have a big almost empty section and then divide the other stuff between all these random yards??? Why are the pool/deck chairs not by the pool, if you just got done swimming and wanted to go lounge for a little you’d have to walk through your house soaking wet to go to the backyard, where you’re pool would have fit anyway!!!!

I'm watching these out of order, and your story about sleeping with a rich man in Palm Springs seals it for me. You remind me SO MUCH (more than I can express via text) of a dear friend I had in highschool/my early 20s. He would come to my New Orleans apartment, get on grindr, and look for rich men. Penthouses and free nights out ensue, haha. I adore your personality, and your videos are so entertaining!
Almost every house looks modern outside, while inside there are different styles mixed together in an awful way (like Happy Hour House) it annoys me. And sometimes picked textures don't make sense to me, like The the deep black color in wooden kitchen or the same wallpaper in the bathroom and the living room. Alsooo it would be interesting to see your version of Casa Xanadu redecoration! There's something charming about this house.
I have this world . I have bulldozed all the houses in this place and made a really rundown desert hovel! It’s so much fun. Trailers and derelict gas stations and grubby cafes!
First house forgot a railing on the staircase! I noticed the Sims teams *often* forgets to put in railings in Sims 3 homes and especially in Sims 4 homes. It’s a pet-peeve of mine.
Sometimes it fun to use the big ugly stuff haha. There’s a lot of things they forget, but they often forget railing like you said.... BUT they add railing to pointless places in the SAME builds too! Several houses in any given world have a “balcony” but without a door so you can’t even get to it

in many of the "good worlds", houses are either amazing shells with horrible rooms, or vice versa, ugly shells with pretty rooms. We can never have both.
We just got back from a trip to San Diego and the Southern California desert, these builds do remind me of CA, but not of the desert. I tell you what though, driving up and down the I-5 and looking at the houses really helped explain why they build things the way they do. If we are all building what we're used to seeing and I'm used to seeing big houses of limited architectural value and then don't study how houses are built and community buildings designed, then is it any wonder the houses they build are the way they are?
I have seen similar garage entrances like that here in Brazil. Its 2 cements and in the middle is grass, or 2 bricks and dirt in the middle, etc. Its not that common but I've seen that

What drive me nuts is video games tend to use yellow and dark Browns too much. Like I like white, and black swatches way more. Idk why the sims 3 developers didn't use white more. I just realize the houses are blah and too small no wonder. I barely play in Lucky Palms!
I mean sims 3 is pretty dated at this point lol. some of the design choices were most definitely… questionable. but I kinda love that about the game. also I enjoy warmer tones than the usual black and white. brown is like an essential color imo if you think about wood colors.
You can only blame the time period so much... I think every decade had some great styles as well as some ugly disasters. But yes, the earth tones I remember from the middle class neighbourhoods I grew up around.

I was actually trying to purchase lucky palms through EA August 2023 but it won’t pop up. I see other worlds, but lucky palms doesn’t come up, would anybody have a clue as to where I would go to find it on EA?
