i played sims 3 for years, but pirated version, and just the base game. Now i got over 200 hours in sims 4, but something is always missing from it. Last few days i have been watching few comparing videos from sims 4 vs others, and thats it - i got myself a Sims 3 - time to relive it again :)
i always hated the sims 4 graphics just too cartoon y at the moment im playing the sims 3 island paradise i lowered all the graphics settings to Get it work lags a little not a lot
My favorite part about Sims 3 gotta be the ability to place custom plots anywhere you want around town. You could pick some really cool locations for your home in almost every town
I tried Sims 4 a few years ago and it was not fun. The emotion based system just doesn't work for me. It was like it ignored Sims 3's existence and just built from 2. I have Sims 3 on xbox 360 with absolutely no mods. I still enjoy it. Dlc can't fix a broken game.
Simple reason why I still play the Sims 3 and not the Sims 4. All. The. Extra. Expansions..... yeah, its not knew that the Sims has a lot of expansions and stuff packs, but the Sims 4 really over did it and it feels like a cash grab. Instead of Supernatural, you got one for witches, one for werewolves, one for vampires and probably more on the way. It feels like you HAVE TO buy several expansions at regular price just for SOME playable fun. For the Sims 3, I could happily just play with pets, seasons and supernatural and have just as much fun as I do with the other added worlds and expansions, but its not needed.
gah im just downloading the sims 3 now and im so excited for it :3 there's so many things to look up to and i can't wait!! I've had the sims 4 for about 5 years now and it's so boring and bland... from the overall modern design to the gameplay, but the sims 3 is excellent in everything sims 4 tries to achieve or doesn't even try in
I love the Sims 3. I hoped that the Sims 5 would be closer to the Sims 3 but that ain't happening. Never could get into 4 and now they want to ride 4 until the well runs dry. I'm looking elsewhere now. Sad.
I love sims 3 but the lag is atrocious. I play on a low end laptop with no nvidia graphics so I can't mess with the fps cap and other performance settings 😢
My sibs and I used to play the prettacy version, with one variation: the legacy ended when a normal looking child appeared. It usually took 7 or 8 generations, depending on how far we managed to stretch CAS. My sister once created this absolute troll of a sim, shacked him up with a townie and.... their daughter was perfectly normal. We still aren't sure if she won or lost that challenge.
It didn't register to me at the time because this game was so utterly engrossing but hindsight is 20-20 and now that it has three sequels you can see that much plainly just how micromanagement-heavy the first Sims was with trying to keep every Sim's motives maintained, those meters decayed SO dang fast. I remember now that really most of my time was spent constantly regulating the eating/pooping/bathing/sleeping/training/playing habits of the household more than anything else, it was very hard to build relationships with new sims and make it through a career path at a decent clip. On the flipside, The Sims 4 is too far in the other direction, it really is just a lifeless dollhouse simulator now.
Most of my Sims 3 playmode was rebuilding towns. I hate how small the worlds are in Sims 4 and got bored fast. Sims 2 was perfect. If they would just combined Sims 3 and 4, and the building capabilities of Sims 4 - it would be the best game ever.
I remember the trait system in Sims 3. I'm not sure if mine glitched at one point, but i made a character with the worst traits like anger, sad, rage and so on. I remember he went out and never came back, when i went looking for him, he was sitting in a park or something close to it away from home. He wouldn't respond to anything, no commands, no reactions of any sort. His hunger, thirst, tiredness etc kept dropping and because he sat there for days, he died. I used to edit so much with the customisation in sims 3, it was such a huge upgrade changing every colour to the walls, furnature and so on. I've not heard anything good about sims 4, more like a step back than a step forward. I'm glad i never got it, even when it ended up being free.
This was shared in a Sims 3 group, and I'm so glad I came across it! I've been wanting to create my own world for so long. Unfortunately, I'm having an issue starting with step one. :( When I click to download my compatible version, a blank white box comes up and nothing will happen. :( Does anyone know why, or what I can possibly do to fix it?
I want to play SIMS 3 again but I have a new computer and doesn't recognize the game, I didn't find a solution yet 😕 But yeah, I remember S3 and S2 with all my heart ❤️ I spend so many hours playing when I was younger 😅, I tried many times playing sims 4 but it's impossible for me, I feel it so boring even if I installed expansions and other stuff :(
Late to the party but on the "use more ram" part, it wont let me save it in the same filetype, only as a text file. Says im not allowed and need to ask the ownser/administrator, cant seem to be able to open it as an admin either. Im on windows 11 btw
