You missed the best part about Crick Cabana (the 1st house): It's advertised as a 2 bedroom, but the 2nd bedroom doesn't even have a wall or door separating it from the hall and living room.
@@AlexisTwoLastNames most of them work on developing the game rather than spending as much time figuring out how to build well. there are plenty of game developers that can't/don't actually play the game they make. now there are certain things that still don't make sense even with that in mind (windows being uneven, doors being missing, i believe one in get famous doesn't have a toilet???) it's really nice that they're giving that work to people who have spent the time making builds that look nice :]

Funnily enough, the first pack after Batuu is when they started bringing in Simmers to make all the builds. Also can't wait for you to get to Del Sol Valley so we can hear about how there isn't a single toilet in the entire world.
I lived in New Orleans for a couple of years, and the gabled roof attached to a hipped roof is very common on a shotgun house. It looks much better in real life. Everything in S4 is just so big and bulky; they could never make the smaller roof details true to its real-life counterpart. The way you said bayou made me chuckle! You say it like "bi-you" because people from Louisiana don't have a good grasp on the English language. 😂😂
I just don't get why they were always so set on selecting the medium wall height. So many of these houses, especially the starters, would look miles better with the shortest wall height.
idk why, but Willow Creek makes me super nostalgic. like it was the first world i saw when i opened TS4 back in 2014 when i first bought it and it just reminds me of a simpler time 😭
i usually prefer desert worlds HOWEVER i don't enjoy mid century style, so I ended up mostly in the rich neighbourhoods of willow creek since I like old fashioned mansions. Once they released Strangerville, I never went back to Oasis Springs
On the topic of weird sentences and stuff in the game: I’m Swedish, but I play the game in English. The official page I’m automatically directed to when I look up patch notes and stuff is usually the Swedish one. And at one point there was a patch note mentioning fixing a bug which had made it so you couldn’t save the game. The translation in Swedish, however, used the word “rädda” for “save”…. Which is not technically inaccurate, but the word ”rädda” in this instance has more like a specific “rescue” connotation than a broader “save” connotation. There is a word for “save”, as in “save the game” (which is “spara”)…. But EA just decided to save (!) money by using Google Translate instead of an actual translator, I guess. The outside area of the night club/lounge actually looks a lot like this outdoor music venue in New Orleans (on Bourbon Street). They have a special fountain there too. They actually did a decent job with the community lots as far as capturing the French Quarter vibe. A lot of places have walled/fenced in patios.
One thing I’ve noticed about sims 4 houses is all the cheaper houses have the super small TV - I don’t think cheap houses have basically a 1950s tv?????
I’ve been looking forward to this so much. My biggest complaint with building in the sims 4 is the lighting. I always end up spamming subtle saucers even on the outside and building at night because the lighting is so dark and all over the place
Willow Creek got surprisingly decent ratings all things considered. I also appreciate how you don't fault the builders for not using a white garden gate... because they didn't have one yet. It would've been easy to just detract points for things, they couldn't do... yet (but WHY didn't they make white swatches in the first place? And who thought it would be a brilliant idea to put the classic white picket garden fence in the Strangerville DLC?!). The whole New Orleans style isn't really mine (I'm a basic suburbia and central-north european type of guy. And perhaps japanese style, too. Mediterreanen is nice as well), but Willow Creek is still decent. Especially the park and good lord I never paid attention to the beautiful garden right next to the museum. It's so darn nice! The Sims 4, even without romantic garden, does quite well with having beautiful, lush gardens. Only thing that still puzzles me is why EA LOVES to use high walls in almost every house. It's so weird, why? I get it for the public buildings and the mansions, but the regular houses? And now for the weirdest Sims flex ever: I remembered the Lewis part in the name. For Eric, not Dennis, remember? ... I dunno either. I don't interact with them much, especially not with the Goths and Pancakes around.
It reminds me of the bathroom/kitchen sink fiasco in the sims 3. For some reason EA made one or two kitchen sinks in the game, and 20 bathroom sinks. So of course every house is going to have the wrong sink somewhere 😭
Bob having exercise equipment I think may of been a joke carried over from the trailer. Where it’s heavily implied bob tried to start working out but gave up.
I end up redoing that gym in every save file, or at least placing down a renovation, because of the broken locker room. Ms Gryphi has a good one if you've got a lot of packs. I like to renovate it using Spa Day to replace the fake bar with the smoothie bar from that pack. Then the room with the couches becomes the yoga studio

Im really excited for this series since I loved the sims 3 one! Though I will recommend you to split every world up in 2 episodes. Its a very long watch If you put the whole world in one episode! Sometimes I forget to continue watching since I dont watch the video in one sit. So splitting up means more videos, and more views!
Thank you! I thought about that... however I remembered that most Sims 4 worlds are half this size, so the episodes will be shorter. Maybe Windenberg needs 2 episodes though, it even bigger than this
@@Rekowcski hmmm Well willow creek isnt that big and it took you an hour. Id still reccomend every world that takes you over 35/40 minutes to split it up. 20 minute videos are alot easier to watch and to keep your attention towards the video. its also more unlikely for people to skip certain parts If your video is shorter, but whatever suits you. I also wondered If you have every pack to judge all worlds?
@@RekowcskiI just finished watching. If I were you id look up a tutorial how to crack Sims 4 with all packs. I know alot of people who do and it works perfectly. Ive seen alot of tutorials on tiktok. Id also go through the worlds in chronological order. That way you can see EA’s progress throughout the worlds

It feels like 20 years since I started playing Sims 4, and all this time I've never been in any Willow Creek neighborhood but Foundry Cove. Maybe because the other neighborhoods are unaffordable. So thanks for the tours!
The way the builds look in Willow Creek is why I’ve replaced every single one with my own builds of actual homes and buildings in New Orleans 😂 no offense to the sims team but EA builds are tragic
the reason the BFFs household seemingly has no lore and the Sims are "generic" is because they are all characters lifted from the MySims series. they're trope-y because they come from a children's series lol. i always loved the household cuz i love those spin-offs but i can see them being pretty boring reference aside.
Being as all the other worlds have gyms too, I get rid of the gym and put the bowling alley from the library or a restaurant from the library. In the bar, did/do they have a blue swatch on that chair or barstool? Haha, I did the romantic garden stuff at the museum! You know, I've seen its all the thing to put the stove in the island, but personally I don't like it in real life so it bothers me in the sims. If I move people in the rich area I cut off part of the kitchen to give the butler a small room. You know, I've been playing Sims 1 a little recently and I think looking at Willow Creek with you here, it really reminds me of the Sims 1 neighborhood.
I hate how the Spencer-Kim-Lewis family teases you with something that would actually be interesting but then doesn't actually give you anything worth investment. Like, I would rather play through Dennis and Lydia's failed marriage than whatever you call what their daughter has. Also they didn't even make Lydia as a sim in the game, she literally doesn't exist even on the family tree. Meanwhile in the Sims 2 you can see almost all the dead relatives.
yessss let's go. i played ts3 but as a kid i kinda just did shit without paying attention, it seems, so my memories are fuzzy. but i play ts4 almost daily as a far too self- and environment-aware adult, so i know these houses well hahahaha
princess EA, i’m crying! in the last year i’ve become more accepting of ts4, but i think partly that’s cuz i have a bf now who games a lot and i’m seeing that shitty game releases are par for the course these days.
Everytime I see a "shotgun" style house in Sims 4 without that very important hallway and back door I feel my eyebrow twitch That hallway thing is very important for air flow through the house! Especially since those houses were built before modern air conditioning

Laughing that you said no lore for the BFF household. They are from the My Sims games, at least that is what I learned. The love triangle is a storyline aspect in the Wii game.
I was hoping you’d notice the walls missing in the gym. It’s in my game too I noticed it when my sim went to shower and got embarrassed cause everybody saw him 😂
Oh no! I always like to make complicated bathrooms in gyms and spas... Separate room for showers and also for toilets just in case... But of course EA couldn't handle walls 😭
the walls were there originally when the game first came out but at some point they got glitched.. i think maybe when terrain tools came out? it also won't work if you try to replace them, you have to delete the entire bathroom in order to fix it
as someone who grew up in Louisiana which Willow Creek is supposed to be based on this is not a representation of anything that is New Orleans none of the houses even resembled a lot of the shotgun styles are in Shreveport with their basically duplexes but you know you got to remember the people that made this game they have no clue what they're doing Riverview in The Sims 3 is actually more accurate to breaux bridge Louisiana which is a very tiny town near Lafayette where I grew up
I’ve been waiting to hear the shade you’re going to throw at these horrible sims 4 houses😂 All of the sims 4 houses never feel homey, they feel too open, empty, rushed, and cold. None of the houses feel like it was made with love, or even with attention. At least they got simmers to build for them now.
I think there is a piano and a bar at the back of the Museum that you missed. I remember Sims getting a drink with friends there. That bumps it up a point.
I didn’t notice how often they put green and blue together before - but you’ve got me thinking. I wonder if the builder was blue/green colour blind and thought they were the same colour? Lol
I did a videogame production course in university before I left for another course and I learnt a tactic that is designed to give the player 'instant gratification'. In the sims 4 case; a base game build looks horrible because it's designed for the a player to go in and add a chair, or a painting and the build instantly looks better... ergo, instant gratification.
I'm super happy you are doing this! Like-like-like! I still remember when I got the sims 4 downloaded, I bulldozed the modern one for my own "crown" mansion, renovated ALL houses and ALL community lots IMMEDIATELY. Oh my, please, please EA, don't announce that Willow Creek were made according to Louisiana Style, for real New Orleans people is going to cry for this ugly! Creole style should be super bright and colorful! Such a relief when EA later give us Windenburg, at least. I literally packed Goths to escape to Windenburg's hills ASAP with their brand-new renovated Ophelia Villa.
I didn’t play sims 4 enough to even see half of this world so it made an interesting watch! Great job! I usually can’t stand sims 4 content but as always I will probably always watch anything you make lol.
really enjoyed seeing a realistic, yet critical (and funny) review of all of these. i've always disliked orange and blue together. it just REALLY gives me like school color vibes. like damn is it spirit day or something?? seeing you so on board with it does make me consider it more, especially envisioning it with like not extremely saturated burn-your-eyes-out colors.
Try finding an orange that is more yellow, like a golden colour (more schoolbus, less burnt 70s) and mix it with a few different blues until you find something you like! My old school colours would bother me too, personally haha.
I like how Bella and Cassandra have a more medium skin tone like in Sims 1 and 2, HOWEVER they did it to Alexander too despite him being a pasty child in The Sims 2

Yeah all the houses in Willow Creek are supposed to be based on New Orleans or old New Orleans styled homes the houses don't look like this and most of the shotgun styled homes are in North Louisiana but what can we expect from people that made a game that are from California they probably took one look and said oh it's Louisiana there's no difference between North and South spoiler alert there are two different worlds
I hate this tiny TV because even the most cheapest TVs in 2014 wasn't that small. And the whole design mash itself is too simple. Everytime I need to use a small TV I prefer that vintage one that at least is more interesting for decorating
Although I'm not a big fan of The Sims 4, there's a lot to critique in the game when it comes to EA builds. So I'm looking forward these new videos and your iconic sassy comments.
I feel like the base game had potential, but became too blah. I’d love less worlds, if that means we get big ones, like we got with get together. That one, so far is the best in my opinion.
