I don't personally believe in this idea of labeling oneself or any other person as "recovered". It's a word that we in the ed community can easily use to further "all or nothing" or "black and white" thinking. It implies an end. But more often than not in life, there aren't definitive endings especially to a mental disorder. To me recovering looks like spending more time engaging with life than with the eating disorder in my head. If I can lessen the amount of time I'm spending operating out of an ED mindset, then that is awesome. That's what I think!

I'm definitely so painfully guilty of black and white thinking!! And yes, ultimately we each get to choose what kind of life we want for ourselves, labels and other people's opinions aside. Thank you so much for watching ☺️
